Louis is predeceased by his parents, Albert and Pearl, siblings:

and Annette (Gerry) Riou.
Louis will be fondly remembered
and greatly missed by many
nieces and nephews and sisterin-law, Edie Favreau.

Age 88
On April 5th, 1927, Louis Joseph
Favreau made his debut in this
world in the family home in Zenon Park. He was the third of six
children born to Albert and Pearl
(DeVeau) Favreau. He attended
Treasure School, a mile and a
half away, and completed his
grade 8 there.
He then farmed with his father
and older brother, Albert. Farming was done using horses until the late 1940's at which time
they bought their first tractor: a
John Deere AR. From a young
age, in the winter, he worked
in lumber camps...initially local
camps, then later camps in Ontario. Farming was his life and
he farmed as long as possible,
until he reached his 70's. His
passion was horses, the bigger
the better.
In recent years he moved to
Caleb Village in Tisdale where
he enjoyed renewing old friend-

Cyrille passed from this life suddenly at home in Embrum, Ontario on June 26, 2015.
Cyrille son of Rosario and Denise Fortin was born in Zenon
Park, SK. February 7th, 1959.
The youngest brother to Estelle,
Ronald, Clement, and Daniel.
He married Joan Lamont in 1994
and had his daughter Cyrilla in
1996; he became a grandfather
to granddaughter Josephine in
May, 2015.
Cyrille was meticulous, detailed,
very organized, and respected.
He enjoyed living in different
places where his work would
send him. He loved travelling,
beer, food, life, laughter, and always called his mom regularly.
Quick one-liners and loved telling stories. He spoke English,
French, and Spanish fluently.
Always excited about his next
big thing, a good soul. The life
he led, the accomplishments he
left behind, reflected who he was
though his life became difficult
he lived it well.

92 ans
Léon was born in Fields Ontario.
Son of Gilbert and Anna Marchildon, he was the 4th of 14 children.
Léon grew up on the family farm
near Zenon Park, SK. and attended
Marseillaise school before going on
to Collège Mathieu in Gravelbourg
SK. Léon married Hélène Bandet on
June 19, 1950 in Prud’homme SK.
A farmer and avid gardener, Léon
was known as a gifted sculptor,
hockey and baseball player as well
as winemaker. He enjoyed reading, feeding his birds and spending
time with family and friends. He
served on the boards of numerous
francophone organizations in the
fransaskois community. Léon was
President of the Fransaskois Federation of Seniors, executive member of the ACFC, President of the
Zenon Park Cultural committee and
of the Zenon Park Credit Union, as
well as School Trustee and Scout
leader.
Léon est né à Fields en Ontario. FIls de Gilbert et Anna Mar-

membre du CA de l’ACFC, commissaire d’école, président du comité
culturel ainsi que de la Caisse Populaire de Zenon Park et guide dans
le mouvement scout fransaskois.

Au mois de février 2015, la
Fédération des aînés fransaskois (la FAF) a organisé une
rencontre ayant pour thème «
Vieillir chez soi ». Les aînées
et aînés fransaskois présents
ont partagé et échangé au
sujet de leurs préoccupations, besoins et intérêts en
vieillissant. Ils/elles ont aussi
exprimé leur désir et souhait
de demeurer dans leur propre
domicile aussi longtemps que
possible et l’importance de
bien planifier et se préparer
pour l’avenir. La FAF invite les
Fransaskoises et les Fransaskois de 50 ans et plus à visiter
le site du Forum fédéral, provincial et territorial des ministres responsables des aînés
au

Entre autres, ce site offre plusieurs ressources pour les
aînés incluant des publications et vidéos sur la question de vieillir chez soi. Vous
trouverez aussi un document

comprend une série de questions pour alimenter votre réflexion et votre planification.

the RM of Arborfield $ 20,000
both over the next 5 years.
The truck cost over $
148,000 with equipment also
being purchased to get it ready
to be put in service. The total
costs have not been finalized.
Everyone had an opportunity to check the new equipment out on October 31st when
the fire department handed out
candy to all of the ghosts and
goblins that day.
The 80’s bash was a success with nearly 100 people in
attendance. Final profit numbers will be calculated and added to the donations.
Donations are still being
accepted and can be brought
to the Village of Zenon Park
for a receipt. The Zenon Park
Knights of Columbus council are
also taking donations on behalf
of this project and will put on a
breakfast after Mass on Grey
Cup weekend with proceeds going to the purchase of the truck
as well.
A big shout out to Fire
Chief Maurice Lalonde and his
dedicated volunteer fire fighters for all of the extra time and
training that this purchase has
brought. A purchase that once
seemed almost impossible has
become a reality due to the generosity of our community, our
neighbors and our volunteers!

de la région ont été très généreuses aussi. La municipalité
de Connaught s’est engagée
pour un total de 50 000$ et la
municipalité d’Arborfield pour
une somme de 20 000$ les deux
sommes payables au cours des
5 prochaines années.
Le coût du camion et
de l’équipement nécessaire
pour en assurer le bon fonctionnement s’élève à plus de
148,000$. Le coût total n’a donc
pas pu être finalisé.
Tous ont pu vérifier le
nouvel achat le 31 octobre alors
que les pompiers distribuaient
des bonbons aux fantômes et
aux esprits folets du jour.
La soirée 80’s Bash a
connu un véritable succès. Près
d’une centaine de personnes
étaient présentes. Le chiffre
final de profit sera calculé et
ajouté aux dons reçus jusqu’à
date.
Il est encore possible de
faire des dons et de recevoir
un reçu du Bureau du Village.
Les Chevaliers de Colomb qui
acceptent aussi des dons pour
ce projet offriront un déjeuner
après la messe du dimanche
la fin de semaine de la Coupe
Grey, soit le 29 novembre.
Un chaud applaudissement au chef des pompiers,
Maurice Lalonde, et à ses pompiers volontaires si dévoués pour
le temps de surplus accordé à ce
projet et à l’entrainement exigé
par ce nouvel achat. Un achat
qui semblait presqu’impossible
est devenu réalité grâce à la
générosité de la communauté,
des voisins et des bénévoles.

OMNIUM DE VOLLEYBALL
Les 7 & 8 octobre dernier les élèves de la 7e et 12e
année ont participés dans la catégorie récréatif de
l’Omnium de Volleyball annuel à l’école Canadienne
française à Saskatoon. Les élèves de la 7e à 9e année ont gagné la médaille d’or dans la catégorie intermédiaire. Les élèves de la 10e à 12e année, jumelés
avec l’école Père Mercure, ont remporté la médaille
d’or catégorie senior. M. Benoit LeBlanc a accompagné le groupe comme entraîneur.

VOLLEYBALL - Oct. 7th and 8th the Grades 7 to
12 students travelled to École Canadienne française
in Saskatoon for the annual Volleyball tournament.
They participated in the recreational category. NDV
grades 7 to 9 student won gold in the intermediate
category and the grades 10 to 12 students along with
students from École Père Mercure, North Battleford
won Gold in the Senior category. They were accompanied by their coach Mr. Benoit LeBlanc.

dancing, skiing, skating, swimming, lifting, playing Wii, dancing, karate, hockey, soccer,
swimming, bowling, snowshoeing, fitness classes or curling.
Watch out for fraudsters who attempt to reach out
to you and then end up taking your money!
Be wary of phone calls from someone you don’t
know who is claiming to work for a software company, maybe even a company you recognize.
They will ask you, or tell you that your computer
is running slowly and offer to fix it once you grant
remote access or download software from a specific website. The caller will try to convince you to
pay for the service by providing your credit card
information or banking information. The caller will
try to persuade you to grant remote access to your
computer.
Beware! This is a very common scam.
So the next time the phone rings and the caller
wants to fix your computer…
Do not believe that everyone calling is trustworthy,
especially if you have never done business with
the company, you weren’t expecting the call and
you do not know the caller.
Don't reply to such calls (even if they sound legitimate). If you are really experiencing problems
with your computer, consult a reputable computer
company in your area.
Do not be hurried into sending money – nothing is
so urgent that you can’t take time to check the offer out or consult with a trusted family member or
your financial institution.
Do not be afraid to hang-up the phone.
Do not give your credit card number or banking
information over the phone, unless you made the
call and the number is from a trusted source.

A & L Motors a été reconnu pour trois générations de service continu. Florent et Maurice ont
su s’adapter avec des services personnalisés et
en s’outillant avec de nouveaux équipements
électroniques. Savoir s’adapter, rendre service
et la bonne gérance ont assuré la continuité de
cette entreprise par excellence. En plus, Ils ont
toujours été des citoyens exemplaires par les
maintes heures de bénévolat accordé à la communauté. Merci aussi pour 65 années de service

7Shifts qui a développé une application mobile
visant à aider les restaurants à mieux gérer
l’horaire des employés. A noter fièrement, que
la directrice de 7Shifts, Andréa Carpentier est
la fille de René et Bernice Carpentier tous deux
originaires de Zenon Park.

A & L Motors was recognized for it’ three generations of continued service. Florent and Maurice as
well as Florent’s Father (Léon Lalonde) were able
to keep their business operating by offering personalised service and updating their equipment
as needed. Knowing when and how to adapt, giving great service and good management have ensured that A & L Motors is still fully operational.
Worthy of mention are the many hours of volunteer service accorded to the community by Florent and Maurice. We must emphasize Maurice’s
dedication to the volunteer fire department, Jaws
of life and ambulance rescue service. Thank you
for 65 years of service to the citizens of Zenon
Park and the region. The word Bravo is very fitting for A & L Motors.

App aimed at helping restaurant owners to better manage their employee’s shifts. It is proudly
noted that the director of 7Shifts is Andréa Carpentier, daughter of René and Bernice Carpentier

de la chambre à débarras, ce qui ramène
