Port-Louis, 17 November 2004 -- The Board of Directors of The Mauritius
Commercial Bank Ltd., at its meeting of today, 17
th
November 2004 ratified the
nomination of Joseph Alain Sauzier as General Manager of the MCB.
This decision follows from the Board of Directors’ meeting of the 22
nd
June 2004
where, having re-stated "its total trust in its General Manager", Mr Pierre Guy
Noel, the Board had decided “to extend his leave until his innocence is proven”
whilst proceeding with the “recruitment of a banker of international experience to
assume the role of General Manager of the Bank ”
Mr Joseph-Alain Sauzier has had an extensive international career in the banking
sector and will begin his mandate in the first two weeks of January 2005.
The Board is confident that the great experience of Mr Sauzier will sustain the
future development of the Bank and allow our institution to fully shoulder its
leader’s role in the service of its customers, its shareholders and the country’s
economy.
The Board of Directors has also voted Mr Gerard Hardy as its new Chairman and
Mr Jean Mamet as its new Vice-Chairman.
