Jean-Victor Louis Honorary professor of the University of Brussels - ULB, (lecture courses on the legal order and the law of international relations of the European Union), Honorary general counsel of the National Bank of Belgium (1980-1998). In this capacity, he took part to the legal committee of the Committee of central banks governors and to the Working group of legal experts of the European Monetary Institute as well as to other legal committees in charge of preparing the change over to the euro. Former president of the Institute of European Studies of the ULB (1980-1992). Visiting scholar at the Woodrow Wilson Center for International Scholars, Washington D.C. (September 1988). Invited professor: Universities of Paris I (Panthéon-Sorbonne), 1986-1987 and from 1995-1996 to 2002-2003, Paris II (Panthéon-Assas), 2002-2003, Nice, Sophia-Antipolis, 19921993, Bordeaux IV, 1994-1995 and 2001-2002, Robert Schuman, Strasbourg III, 1999-2000, Centro de Estudios constitucionales, Madrid, 1988, Columbia Law School, New York, 2001-2002. Part time Professor, European University Institute, Florence (1998-2002; February 2003-February 2004). Hon. Degree (Docteur honoris causa) of the University of Paris II (Panthéon-Assas), 2001. Titular of a Belgian Francqui chair, at the University of Ghent (Belgium), 2007-2008. President (till June 2013) of the Foundation Philippe Wiener-Maurice Anspach, (for the promotion of scientific relations between Brussels (ULB), Cambridge (UK) and Oxford (UK) Universities), general editor of the Cahiers de Droit européen (Bruylant, Brussels), a journal published since 1965; former Board member and acting secretary general of Trans European Political Studies Association (TEPSA), member of the European Constitutional Law Network (ECLN), of the Monetary Commission of the European League for Economic Cooperation (ELEC), of the Committee on international monetary law of the International Law Association (ILA) and of the scientific council of various legal periodicals. Jean-Victor Louis has published and still publishes extensively on European Community/Union Law, in particular on institutional questions, legal order, EMU and external relations.
