Matthieu Barthélemy specializes in financial, commercial and banking litigation as well as debt
restructuring, distressed companies and insolvency, both advising clients and representing them in court,
including in the context of international transactions.
He mainly advises financial institutions, investment funds as well as French and foreign industrial groups
and services providers.
Admitted to the Paris Bar in1999, he holds a master’s degree in business law from the University of Paris
X Nanterre (1998), an advanced degree (D.E.S.S.) in business tax law (1997) and a master’s degree in
management (1996) both from the University of Paris Dauphine. He joined the firm in 2000 as an
associate and was co-opted as a partner in 2007.
Matthieu Barthélemy is a member of the Society of Turnaround Professionals (Association pour le
Retournement des Entreprises - ARE).
Matthieu Barthélemy wrote articles in his practice areas such as "Communication et production forcées

Restructuring
 Advisor to a group of senior banks in the context of the judicial rehabilitation proceedings of GAD
SAS, further to the debt restructuring in conciliation proceedings (“conciliation”) of the GAD group, a
French leading group specializing in the slaughter, cutting, transformation and sale mainly of porcine
meat (turnover: €500M).

Advisor to the banks in connection with the restructuring of the debt in the context of mandat ad hoc proceedings
and then conciliation proceedings (“mandat had hoc” and then “conciliation”) of ABRF group, a French
independent group manufacturing rail freight wagons.
