PSPVBA: GameBoy Advance Emulator for PSP v1.2.1
Hi All,
Here is a new version of PSPVBA the GameBoy Advance Emulator for PSP.
This version doesn't work for +2.0 FW !
What's new in version 1.2.1 :
- New feature to save and load a distinct setting file for each games
- Add option to enable/disable the cache with the Graphical Unit
- Emulator menus reorganisation (new menu for settings)
- Bug fix: Emulator menu is now launched on startup
- Bug fix: no more freeze when exiting the emulator
(but HOME button still doesn't work !)
- Bug fix: bad refresh of the emulator menu/screen
How to use it ?
Have a look to the README.txt file !
One binary version for 1.5 FW and sources are included in the zip archive.
This package is under GPL Copyright, read COPYING file for more information about it.

what does it mean strictly use only for 1.5, i mean, if i just take one eboot of the 1.5 cant it work on 2.xx?

Matt this version used kernel mode which can't be used on 2.xx firmware

No, you cannot brick with this homebrew, and if you do, wich you wont, it wont be becouse of this.

You can enable SFX, set the turbo mode to 0 and enable the GPU cache if you see bad drawings ... It's slower but it should work

Est-ce normal que toutes les roms que je teste restent bloquées a 7/8 fps selon le fps shower intégré ?
J'ai testé entre autres :
Golden Sun , FF4 , Sonic Advance , Pokemon Fire Red , Super Mario 4 ...

L'emulation d'une console GBA sur PSP c'est du reve, donc ne t'attend pas a des miracles ...
8 FPS c'est deja jouable pour certains jeux, mais n'espere pas 60 fps, ou alors faut mettre la PSP dans un frigo et l'overclocker a
600Mhz ...

Wah la réponse super rapide que j'esperais pas trop vu la relative vieillesse du thread ^^

J'ai mis skip frame a -1 ca passe a 15 fps normal?
-2 a 30 fps
Ca devient interessant.
Faudrait m'expliquer l'inconvénient de mettre -x car il doit surement y en avoir un , ainsi que les % a coté des fps dont je n'ai pas trop
compris ^^
Sinon pour l'émulation parfaite de GBA , je le sais bien , mais je garde espoir quand je vois le travail effectué sur la scene PSP
megadrive avec Dgen qui est parti de rien (ca ramait a mort , le son aussi , ) et c'est aujourd'hui un émulateur quasiment parfait , avec

You need a 1.5 firmware, or 3.x custom firmware from Dark Alex (not official Sony firmware).
Anyway PSPVBA is a dead project, and i suggest you to install gpsp instead which is much better (faster) than this one,

it doesn't appear to be working on my psp. I think it's because my firm wear is within the 3.0 range. Is there anyway i can still get it or
is the a newer version?

You need to install a custom firmware (3.71-m33 or 3.90-m33 could be good). Have a look to psp-hacks.com, pspupdates.qj.net or
dcemu.co.uk for more informations.
Btw, this is a dead project, you'd better install "gpsp" emulator instead of this one,
