Tuna species identification in canned products Analytical Report to: Greenpeace FRANCE Derio, 29th July 2014 OBJECTIVE The objective of this project is the verification of the correct identification of tuna species in different canned tuna samples by molecular techniques based on the analysis of DNA. METHODOLOGY The tuna identification was carried out following the internal procedure MA-BM-02. This procedure is based on the analysis of seven polymorphisms from mitochondrial cytochrome b gene.
