Le prochain Conseil des Gouverneurs, dont l’ordre du jour devrait traiter Renforcement des activités de l’Agence
relatives à la sûreté nucléaire et radiologique et à la sûreté du transport et des déchets, du Renforcement des activités
de l’Agence concernant les sciences, la technologie et les applications nucléaires, ainsi que des questions de
« garanties », débutera lundi 3 mars.
En outre, quelques ateliers et réunions techniques seront co-organisés par le Secrétariat de l’AIEA, les prochaines
semaines :

The Director leads and coordinates the efficient and effective development
and implementation of the human health programme in line with the resultsbased approach. The Director is also the principal adviser to the Deputy
Director General as regards meeting the needs of Member States and

The Data Evaluation Officer is: (1) a manager and developer of the global
environmental radioactivity monitoring information system; (2) a conceptual
planner proposing and implementing methodologies for the analysis of
environmental radioactivity monitoring data made available to the IEC in

The Radiation Protection Specialist plays several key roles: (1) substantive
expert, developing international recommendations and guidance related to
the radiation protection of patients; (2) adviser, providing authoritative and
objective information to Member States and working with them, through the
IAEA's technical cooperation programme, to identify means of reducing
exposure from radiation to patients; and (3) analyst, maintaining an overview
of the status of the radiation protection of patients in Member States and
working collaboratively with experts in Member States on special projects
related to new developments in the field.
The Emergency Communication Specialist is: (1) the spokesperson, in case of
nuclear or radiological incidents and emergencies, responsible for presenting
complex technical issues in plain language at briefings of Member States and
the media, with support of additional spokespeople, as circumstances require;
(2) a specialist developing and implementing a communication strategy in
nuclear or radiological incidents and emergencies, in close coordination with
the Office of Public Information and Communication; (3) an expert contributor
developing communication materials to be used in case of nuclear or
radiological incidents and emergencies of various scenarios, and offering
technical support and guidance to Member States.
The Director is: 1) an adviser to the Deputy Director General on issues and
trends impacting the TC programme in the Asia and Pacific region; 2) a
manager of the human and financial resources assigned to the Division,
ensuring development of programmes responding to Member States' priority
needs; 3) a leader providing strategic direction and motivating staff in the
Division, promoting good performance and teamwork and creating an
environment where staff can develop their skills and share knowledge and
experience; 4) an advocate for the TC programme, building strategic
partnerships and alliances with stakeholders at the regional and national level
and demonstrating the IAEA's comparative advantage.
The Section Head is: a team leader, ensuring the efficient and effective
management of assigned staff, physical and financial resources in line with
quality management standards and a results-based approach; a technical
leader, leading a multidisciplinary team in the Section focused on ensuring the
efficient and effective development and implementation of the subprogrammatic activities, capacity building, technical support, policy advice
and information exchange for Member States, as it relates to the subprogramme; and a technical officer, evaluating technical cooperation (TC)
projects, and providing technical support to coordinated research projects
(CRPs) in the area of soil, water and crop nutrient management.

The Information Technology Security Officer is: 1) a substantive expert,
specializing in information and computer security. The position entails both
project management activities and technical duties contributing to the
realization of the projects; 2) a key coordinator in the development of the

The Training Officer plays several key roles in the Section: (1) as leader of IAEA
efforts to develop and maintain the knowledge network of support centres;
(2) as coordinator of nuclear security training activities to ensure that they are
effective, up-to-date and reflecting the official position or policy of the IAEA;
(3) as facilitator for the delivery of a consistent and coherent nuclear security
training programme, including developing and maintaining programmes and
establishing innovative delivery mechanisms; (4) establishing an expert roster
of professionals in the area of nuclear security and their organizations and, as
appropriate, establishing procedures for effective outsourcing of training
activities within a quality system; (5) as advisor providing advice to States on

The Senior Safety Officer is: (a) a programme planner and implementer,
planning, developing and implementing activities aimed at helping Member
States to enhance nuclear safety in their installations and facilities; (b) a
scientific secretary, planning and leading complex Technical Meetings and
consultancies; (c) a mission leader, planning and leading complex technical
safety and infrastructure review and follow-up missions; and (d) a substantive
expert contributor and project officer, evaluating, developing and
implementing complex technical cooperation and extrabudgetary projects
and promoting, coordinating and evaluating coordinated research projects
(CRPs) in the area of safety assessment for design and operation and
integrated risk-informed decision making.
The Associate Project Analyst is: (1) a scheduler preparing, reviewing, and
maintaining detailed schedules of project activities, developing and
maintaining project tracking tools for resource allocation and status of
activities, and contributing to the preparation of project reports, consisting of
a summary of all activities performed during the course of the programme;
(2) an analyst evaluating, extracting, and consolidating data from
documentation available in-house and obtained from Member States for the
purpose of Extrabudgetary Programme (EBP) reporting, and; (3) a presenter
of EBP performance and results.
The Clean Laboratory Chemist is (1) a team player working with other
chemists and laboratory staff in the Environmental Sample Laboratory (ESL)
and reporting to the Chemistry Team Leader, and (2) a technical specialist
performing complex chemical separations and sample preparation, improving
existing procedures, and modifying or devising procedures for new
applications.

The Emergency Response Training Officer is: (1) a trainer, developing and
presenting lectures on specific areas covered by the training program and
conducting drills and exercises within the IAEA’s IES; (2) an analyst and
rapporteur on the training requirements based on the feedback from past

preparedness and response; and (3) a planner and implementer, developing a

throughout the IAEA; (3) Chairman of the Publications Committee to provide
expert advice on publishing policies and practices; (4) Secretary of the
Publishing Policy Board, advising the Director of the Division of Conference
and Document Services on Agency-wide policy issues relevant to publishing.
The Associate Security Facilitation Officer is: (1) a substantive contributor,
providing operational support to enable the safest and most secure conduct
of the Agency's programmes and activities; and (2) an technical specialist on
matters pertaining to field security, including the provision of risk
assessments and country specific geopolitical analysis; (3) a team member
working collaboratively on the maintenance and revision of security operating
procedures, guidelines, and on the continuous improvement of security and
incident related systems and programmes.
The Engineer is (1) a facilitator within the Office for the collection and
dissemination of information related to laboratory technical services, (2) a
liaison among internal Divisions and Departments, as well as with external
suppliers, for the allocation of appropriate resources, and (3) a coordinator of
the various building-related technical services and activities within the
laboratories.
