PROFESSOR PHILIPPE NEYRET – LYON FRANCE
I received my initial training with Albert TRILLAT and being a former pupil of Henri DEJOUR, it was quite
natural that in 1988 I devoted my activity on knee surgery.
I was nominated professor at the University of Lyon in 1994, and I am head of the department at the Centre
Livet since 1996.
My main activity is clinical. I treat an equal number of sports lesions and degenerative pathologies of the
knee. The many publications, books, CD-Roms reflect this clinical research activity. For my work on the results
after meniscectomy, I received the “John Joyce Award” by International Arthroscopy in 1989.
In 1995, I participated in the ESSKA-AOSSM “Traveling Fellowship”.
In 2002-2004, 2008, 2010 and 2012, I was involved in the organization of the “Journées de Chirurgie du
genou” devoted to the athlete’’ knee or/and prosthesis knee.
As a professor first class, I am responsible for four academic formations in France: knee pathology,
arthroscopy, sports medicine and rugby.
I am a member of several medical societies and an active participant in the SOFCOT, ESSKA and EFFORT.
I am also President of the “ACL Study Group”, and member of the “International Patellar femoral study
group” as well as the “Patellofemoral Foundation”.
I am the current President of Isakos.
In 2000, I was co-organizer of the Journées Lyonnaises de Chirurgie du Genou in Brazil held in Porto Allègre,
in 2004 in Fortaleza (Brasil), 2007 in Florianapolis and 2009 in Guaruja.
In 2013, I was a visited professor in Hong Kong, Columbus (Ohio) and Kobe (Japan). I was invited as a
godfather and presidential guest speaker of the Herodicus society.
In 2004, 2006 and 2008, we have organized the European course of Knee Arthroplasty.
In 2015, Lyon hosted the Isakos Congress.
