Probable attendance for Centrallia has surged past the forecasted
500 with the announcement that over 70 delegations from around the
world plan to be in Winnipeg for the business forum’s inaugural event
in October. Typically headed by a chamber of commerce or regional
economic development agency, a delegation is the primary building
block of a Centrallia event as it is charged with helping businesses
from its area attend the event. It is expected that most delegations
will bring 5 to 10 businesses.

Important for the success of business forums like Centrallia is the
participation of the local business community. After all, world
businesses attend such events partly because they provide unparalleled

Report From Poitiers – It Works!
The recent Futurallia event in Poitiers, France, provided an opportunity
for a delegation of Manitoba companies to see first hand why these
events are so successful (2010 marks the 20th anniversary for Futurallia).

“Take Care of Business”
“Mission accomplished,” says Jack Peterson of Manitoba’s Cogmation
Robotics which develops robotic software. “[Our] meetings were very
good and are already leading to new business opportunities for us.”
Attending Futurallia was a no-brainer for André Granger. The Vice
President and General Manager of Westeel met with 13 companies over
the 21 ⁄ 2 day forum. “If you actually tried to do that individually, you
know it would be months of travel across the world and many thousands
of dollars and so if you compare the cost and quality, it’s a very easy
decision to make.”
Iconic Winnipeg Rocker Randy Bachman has been confirmed to perform
at Centrallia. Best known for his work fronting two legendary rock
groups, The Guess Who and Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Bachman’s
music has provided a veritable soundtrack of the last thirty years of
music; his hit songs include These Eyes, American Woman, You Ain’t Seen
Nothin’ Yet and Takin’ Care of Business.

d’entreprises manitobaines a pu se rendre compte directement du succès d’un tel
événement (l’année 2010 marque le 20e anniversaire de Futurallia).

« Mission accomplie, s’est exclamé Jack Peterson de Cogmation Robotics, un
développeur manitobain de logiciels robotiques. [Nos] réunions ont été très
positives et ont déjà abouti à plusieurs nouveaux débouchés pour nous. » La
participation à Futurallia allait de soi pour André Granger. Le vice-président et
directeur général de Westeel a rencontré 13 entreprises au cours du forum de
deux jours et demi. « Si l’on tentait d’organiser ces réunions individuellement,
cela représenterait des mois de voyage à travers le monde et des milliers de
dollars dépensés. Donc, compte tenu du coût et de la qualité, la décision a été
très simple. »
Le légendaire Randy Bachman, musicien rock de Winnipeg, a confirmé
qu’il se produira à Centrallia. Surtout connu comme chanteur de
deux grands groupes rock, The Guess Who et Bachman-Turner Overdrive,
Bachman a créé une œuvre musicale qui a influencé le monde du rock
depuis les trente dernières années. Il a notamment écrit These Eyes,
