WICHITA FALLS INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT VOCABULARY 2004-05 TWELFTH GRADE WORD LISTS Objective: • Instruction will focus on SAT words, particularly words derived from Romance languages and mythology • Students will add words to recognition and usage vocabulary Resource: • Vocabulary for College Bound Students and Quack words Instructions: • Academic students o Teacher will select 2 class words from 10 word list & each student will select 2-3 more words for his/her choice words • Pre-AP or Pre-IB students o Teachers will select 4 words from 10 word list & each student will select 2-6 more words for his/her choice words • Teacher will provide instructional activities for all 10 words • Activities (matching/ fill in the blank/ mnemonics/ cartoons/sentences/etc.) may be scored for daily grades • Major vocabulary assessments not necessary, but may be included at the teacher’s discretion.
