Sale Rules 2012
1. Entry Eligibility Requirements:
Rams:
Every breeder has a basic allocation of one registered ram per breed.
For additional rams (above one per breed), two registered ewes of the
same breed must be consigned.
Ewes:
Both registered and commercial ewes will be accepted.
Entry Fee:
An entry fee of $10.00 per Registered ewe or ram and $10 per lot for
commercial entries must accompany sale application. The fee being
refundable (Only) to members of PSBANS if the animal is sold through the sale.
2. Consignors are required to provide:
(a)
Original Certificates of Registration with the animal on delivery to the sale.
Without the original certificate the animal will not be sold.
(b)
Signed Transfers.
(c)
A Cheque (including taxes) made payable to Canadian Livestock Records
Corporation. These will be processed by the Sale Committee following the sale,
forwarded to CLRC , Ottawa, and then forwarded to respective buyers.
(d)
All animals consigned must be in the sale barn by 6pm on Friday. In case of
emergency (i.e. truck break down) you may call 902-890-0303.

Sale Commission is 10%. However, if a lamb is sold on behalf of a Nova Scotia 4-H Member, and is
his/her own current 4-H lamb, no commission will be charged.
4.
Order of Sale: Animals will be sold in catalogue order. From year to year the order of breeds and
consignors is rotated alphabetically. In 2011 the breed selling order begins with “J”. The consignors'
selling order, within breed, advances 5 letters alphabetical each year. This year begins with surname
first letter “E”.
5.
Substitutions (which are allowed within breed) and changes ( in lot sizes) must be communicated to
the Sale Secretary prior to culling committee check and MUST be posted near the pen and will be
posted near the Sale information desk.
6.
Consignors may provide performance data for all consigned animals at the pens.
7.
Consignors are to be present for vet check and to help mark the lot number on back of their sheep.
8.
Consignors must accompany their animals through the ring and back to the pens.
9.
No sheep to which the rights to show are reserved will be permitted in the sale.
10.
Any animal entered in the sale is the responsibility of the seller until the animal is sold, at which time
the buyer assumes the responsibility for it.
11.
No sheep will be allowed on the grounds on Sale Day , except those consigned to the sale.
12.
The Association does not allow individual sellers to place minimum reserve bids on animals. however
the Association has set a minimum bid of $250 on all rams.

13. Slick shearing of sire breeds is not required , but is recommended.
14.
All complaints must be made to the Sale Committee within two hours of the end of the Sale, or before
the animals are removed from the Sales facilities, whichever is sooner.
15.
Buyers must obtain a buyer number at the Sale office before the Sale starts and give the office staff
the exact name and address to which registered stock should be transferred.
16.
All animals leaving the barn must be checked by sale committee before loading. Animals can be
removed only after the sale or by prearrangement with the Sale Secretary.
17.
Culling: The consignor guarantees all animals entered; Should the Sale Committee find any animals
unacceptable under the following criteria, they will be removed from the sale.
(Health Concerns) Recommendations of the Veterinarian on health concerns will be accepted
by the Culling Committee and the veterinarian’s judgement will be final.

respiratory problems, diarrhoea, body conditions, eye
problems, external parasites, hernia, lesions (eg. orf)
Reproductive Health:
testicles, penis.
Feet:
evidence of footrot, lameness
Mouth:
lesions and abscesses
Conformation:
evident defects to refer to the culling committee.
(Conformation) Recommendations of the veterinarian on conformation defects will be taken
under advisement, however, the culling committee will make the final decision with regard to
conformation.

(Commercials:) The culling committee will look over commercial ewes for obvious signs of ill
health, but cannot give the same individual attention as to purebreds.

ROGLEMENTS DE VENTE 2012
1. Conditions d’admissibilité :
Béliers : Un quota de base d’un (1) bélier enregistré par race est alloué B chaque éleveur. Pour
chaque bélier additionnel (en sus du quota de base), l’éleveur devra mettre en consignation deux
brebis enregistrées de la mLme race que le bélier.
Brebis : Sont admissibles les brebis enregistrées et les brebis de rente.
Droits d’inscription : Une somme de 10 $ est exigible par brebis ou bélier enregistré et la somme
correspondante doit accompagner le formulaire d’inscription. Ces droits d’inscription seront rembour
sés B la vente de l’animal pour des membres de PSBANS seulement .
2.
Les consignateurs doivent fournir :
(a)
L’original des certificats d’enregistrement qui doivent Ltre présentés avec l’animal avant la
mise aux enchPres. Faute de quoi, l’animal ne pourra Ltre vendu.
(b)
Les actes de transfert dfment signés.
(c)
Un chPque au montant requis (taxes comprises) fait B l’ordre de la Société canadienne
d’enregistrement des animaux. Suivant la vente, le comité de vente s’occupera d’envoyer la do
cumentation B la S.C.E.A., B Ottawa, puis de la renvoyer aux acheteurs.
(d)
Tous les animaux consignés doivent Ltre dans le hall B bestiaux avant 19 h le vendredi.
3.
La commission de vente est de 10%. Toutefois aucune commission ne sera prélevée dans le cas d’un
agneau vendu pour le compte d’un membre d’un club 4-H de la Nouvelle-Écosse, s’il s’agit de son ani
mal de projet 4-H.
4.
L’ordre de vente : Les animaux sont vendus selon l’ordre établi dans le catalogue. D’une année B
l’autre, l’ordre de présentation des races et des consignateurs fait l’objet d’un roulement selon l’ordre
alphabétique. En 2011, les races dont le nom commence par la lettre (J) seront en début de liste. A
l’intérieur de chaque catégorie, l’ordre est déterminé par le nom du consignateur et le point de départ
avance de cinq lettres chaque année. Cette année, les consignateurs dont le nom commence par la lettre
(E) seront en début de liste.
5.
Toute substitution (laquelle est permise pour les animaux de mLme race) et tout changement concer
nant la taille des lots doivent Ltre communiqués au secrétaire du comité de vente avant l’inspection du
comité de triage. Les changements seront affichés prPs du bureau de vente.
6.
Des données relatives au rendement des animaux (mâles et femelles) en consignation peuvent Ltre
fournies B l’enclos si ces données n’étaient pas disponibles lors du catalogage.
7.
Les consignateurs doivent Ltre présents afin de pouvoir indiquer clairement le numéro de lot sur le
dos de chaque animal.
8.
Les consignateurs doivent accompagner leurs animaux dans l’arPne, puis les reconduire dans l’en
clos.
9.
Aucun animal pour lequel des droits d’exposition sont réservés ne pourra Ltre mis en vente.
10.
Tout animal mis en vente est la responsabilité du vendeur. Or, dPs qu’il est vendu, l’acheteur en
assume la responsabilité.
11.
Aucun animal ne sera admis dans l’enceinte le jour de la vente, sauf les animaux mis en consignation.

12.
L’Association ne permet pas aux vendeurs individuels de fixer un prix de départ minimum.
L’ Association a placé une offre minimum de $250 sur toutes les beliers.
13.
La tonte lisse des béliers n’est pas obligatoire, mais elle est toutefois recommandée.
14.
Toutes les plaintes doivent Ltre transmises au comité de vente dans un délai de 2 heures ou avant le
transfert de l’animal, selon le premier de ces événements.
15.
Tout acheteur doit se rendre au bureau de vente avant le début des enchPres afin de se procurer un nu
méro d’acheteur et fournir au personnel responsable tous les renseignements pertinents pour le trans
fert de propriété des animaux enregistrés.
16.
Tous les animaux sortant de l’enceinte doivent Ltre inspectés par le comité de vente avant leur char
gement. Les animaux ne peuvent Ltre transportés avant la conclusion des enchPres ou avant d’avoir
obtenu l’autorisation préalable du secrétaire du comité de vente.
17.
Mise B la réforme : Le consignateur se porte garant de tous les animaux inscrits. Dans l’éventualité
que le comité de vente déclare un animal inadmissible en vertu des critPres apparaissant ci-dessous,
l’animal en question sera enlevé et ne pourra Ltre mis en vente.
(État de santé) Le comité de triage se conformera aux recommandations du vétérinaire relatives B
l’état de santé de l’animal inspecté, et le jugement de ce dernier sera définitif.

(Animaux de rente) Les brebis de rente feront d’objet d’un examen rapide ainsi de vérifier leur état
de santé mais le comité de triage ne pourra effectuer une évaluation individuelle au mLme titre que les
ovins de race.
