La Fondation ARTHRITIS (reconnue d’utilité publique depuis 2006) a été créée par une famille
de malades souffrant de polyarthrite rhumatoïde et avec le soutien de 8 associations de malades qui
œuvrent sur l’ensemble des rhumatismes inflammatoires chroniques.
CLARINS est une société cosmétique particulièrement impliquée en recherche dermatologique et qui
soutient tous les ans la Fondation ARTHRITIS en prenant en charge l’ensemble des frais de
fonctionnement.
Pour la première fois, La Fondation ARTHRITIS lancent un appel d’offres international co-financé et
relayé par toutes les filiales du groupe CLARINS à travers le monde.
Le président du directoire du Groupe, Dr Olivier Courtin-Clarins, a insufflé une thématique
particulière et chère à la marque Clarins : L’impact de l’environnement.
Le Conseil d’administration, accompagné de son conseil d’orientation stratégique, a décidé d’ouvrir
le thème de l’environnement au travers d’un projet de recherche fondamentale ambitieux. C’est un
challenge qui semble prometteur.
« L’influence de l’Environnement sur les Rhumatismes Inflammatoires (ex: alimentation, sport,
pollution, microbiote. L’objectif final, clairement identifié, est d’impacter la vie du patient par quelque
résultat que ce soit. Il sera aussi attendu des délivrables annuels identifiés, vulgarisables et essentiels
dans la poursuite du projet. »
Le Financement par la Fondation ARTHRITIS est fixé à 800k€ sur 3 ans. Le budget total du projet
devra être compris entre 1 et 1,5 M€ sur 3 ans.
Vous serez invités à présenter un consortium uniquement académique de 2 à 3 Laboratoires
maximum, incluant de préférence un laboratoire européen.
Un seul projet sera sélectionné sur l’avis d’un jury d’experts.
L’appel à projet sera ouvert en oct/nov 2015, et clôturera en janv/fév 2016.

More than 1 Million € over 3 years
Fondation ARTHRITIS (Charity since 2006) was created by a familiy of patient suffering from
rheumatoid arthritis, with the support of 8 associations of patients affected by inflammatory
rheumatic diseases.
CLARINS is a cosmetic company especially involved in dermatology research, and supports the
running costs of Fondation ARTHRITIS since its creation.
For the first time, Fondation ARTHRITIS will launch an international call for proposals, co-funded and
supported by CLARINS and all its subsidiaries worldwide.
The CLARINS’s Group President of the managing board, Dr Olivier Courtin-Clarins, inspired a new
area of research which is important for CLARINS: The impact of environment.
The Fondation Arthritis’s board, supported by its strategic committee, decided to initiate a
fundamental and ambitious research project into the new area. It sounds like a promising challenge.
“Impact of environment on inflammatory rheumatic diseases (eg: food, sport, pollution,
microbiote,…). The final goal, clearly identified, is to impact the patient’s life by any type of results.
We expect concrete annual results,, identified, easy to understand and essential for the following of
the project.”
The Fondation ARTHRITIS’s funding is set to 800k€ over 3 years. The total budget of the project
should be from 1 to 1.5 M€ over 3 years.
You will be pleased to propose a consortium of only academic Laboratories, 2-3 maximum, including
preferably an european Laboratory.
A single project will be selected, based on the advice of an expert committee.
The call for proposals will open oct/nov 2015, and will close jan/feb 2016.
