To take full control of your Power Switch
(controlling
all
power
outlets,
reading
temperature…) you must log in as administrator and
simply type in the IP address of the Power Switch.
Example: https://192.168.100.200
The Secure Power Switch ONLY uses Secure Port 443 (HTTPS).
Ensure that your Firewall / Router is configured to allow HTTPS to pass through.
The establishment of a secure SSL session takes a bit longer to start up.
The following procedure is used:
1. Your Web browser contacts the Secure Power Switch server using a secure URL (starts with
https://).
2. The Power Switch server sends the browser its 1024-bit public key and its server certificate.
3. Your browser and the server negotiate the encryption level to use for the communications.
4. Your browser encrypts a 128-bit session key with the public key of the Secure Power Switch
server and sends the encrypted data back to the Secure Power Switch server.
5. The Secure Power Switch server decrypts the message sent by the client using its private key
and the session is established.
6. Your browser and the Secure Power Switch server use the session key to encrypt and decrypt
transmitted data.

3/ Controlling the power outlet over IP
After configuring the network parameters, start your browser and enter the address of your
Power Switch beginning with https:// to establish a secure connection.
To configure the Secure Power Switch you must
log in as administrator and type in the IP address of
the
Secure
Power
Switch
followed
by
/sysadmin.htm. The browser then displays the
authentication dialog box and you will now have to
type in the administrator name and password.
Both default administrator name and password are:
admin

PSE514 is an enhanced power distribution and control unit that enables remote
power management of 4 devices over Internet.
This high security device supports the HTTPS protocol and also includes IP
device and environmental monitoring functionalities. It supports the HTTP,
HTTPS, DHCP, Syslog, SNMP, SMTP and SNTP protocols.
An internal clock allows to timestamp syslog messages, e-mails and internal
logs.
Before operating your Power Switch, please read the safety
instructions in the User Guide on the provided CD-ROM.

1. Connect the Power Switch to your Local Area Network.
2. Power-up the Power Switch through a properly grounded outlet.

2/ Configuration
Configuration through an RS232 Terminal connection
1. Use the provided RS232 cable to connect the
Power Switch to an available serial port of your PC.
2. Run a Terminal program such as Windows Hyper
Terminal.
3. Configure the appropriate serial port @ 9.600, n, 8, 1 and
no flow control.
4. On your computer, press <ENTER> until the prompt «>»
appears on your screen.
5. Press the <TAB> key on your keyboard and follow the
menu to configure your Power Switch. All commands
start with the slash «/». Ex.: type the command /NP to go
to the Network Parameters settings menu.
Use one of the three following methods:
Configuration through the LAN
using the PS-Finder program
It is the simplest and fastest configuration method if you
use Windows as operating system.
It allows to configure your Power Switch through your
local network even if its network parameters are not
compatible with those of your PC.
1. Start the PS-Finder.exe program contained on the CDROM.
2. In the tool bar, click on the first left button (Scan) to
discover the Power Switch connected on your LAN.
3. In the tool bar click on the second left button (Configure)
and configure the network parameters.

Remarks
Configuration through the LAN
using a standard Browser
Change temporarily the network settings of your PC
according to the default network settings of the Power
Switch.
Default network parameters of the Power Switch:
IP Address: 192.168.100.200 - Port: 443
Gateway: 255.255.255.0
Default factory protocol is HTTPS!!!
1. Start your Web browser and type the IP address of your
Power Switch.
2. Enter the administrator name and password (default for
both = admin). The home page appears, allowing you to
configure the settings of your Power Switch.

To achieve the highest security level, we suggest to disable the Finder program after the first
installation by unchecking the option "Finder authorized".
If you change the IP address, the system needs to compute new SSL keys. This operation takes
several minutes and the Led marked "S" blinks 3 times repeatedly during the process. During this
time, you cannot login.
About the option “DHCP Client enabled”
If you enable the DHCP option, we suggest that you use Static DHCP so that the same IP address
is always assigned to the Power Switch.
You will find the MAC address of your Secure Power Switch on a sticker on the bottom of the box.
If a new IP address is attributed by the DHCP server, the system needs to compute new SSL keys.
This operation takes several minutes.

3/ Commandes des prises via Ethernet
Après avoir configuré les paramètres réseau, démarrez votre navigateur et saisissez l’adresse
IP de votre Power Switch, précédée de https: pour établir une connexion sécurisée.
Le compte administrateur (nom et mot de passe pas défaut = admin) vous permet de
commander toutes les prises secteur.
Les 16 comptes utilisateur permettent de commander uniquement les prises secteur pour
lesquelles l’utilisateur dispose des droits d'accès.
Pour configurer le Secure Power Switch,
connectez-vous comme administrateur et saisissez
son adresse IP, suivie de /sysadmin.htm. Dans la
fenêtre d'authentification, entrez le nom et le mot de
passe administrateur.
Par défaut, le nom et le mot de passe
administrateur sont : admin
Exemple: https://192.168.100.200/sysadmin.htm

Guide d'installation rapide
Pour un contrôle total de votre Power Switch
(contrôle de toutes les prises, lecture des
températures…) vous devez vous loger comme
administrateur et simplement entrer l'adresse IP du
Power Switch.
Exemple: https://192.168.100.200
Le Secure Power Switch utilise seulement le port sécurisé 443 (HTTPS).
Vérifiez que votre Firewall / Routeur est configuré pour autoriser le protocole HTTPS.
L'établissement d'une session sécurisée SSL nécessite un certain temps pour démarrer.
La procédure suivante est utilisée :
1. Votre navigateur contacte le serveur Web du Secure Power Switch en utilisant une URL
sécurisée commençant par https://
2. Le serveur Web du Power Switch envoie sa clé publique 1024-bit au navigateur ainsi que son
certificat d'authentification.
3. Le navigateur et le serveur négocient le niveau de chiffrage à utiliser pour les communications.
4. Le navigateur chiffre une clé de session 128-bit avec la clé publique du serveur Web du Secure
Power Switch et retourne les informations chiffrées au serveur Web du Secure Power Switch.
5. Le serveur Web du Secure Power Switch déchiffre le message envoyé par le client en utilisant sa
clé privée et la session est ouverte.
6. Le navigateur et le serveur Web du Secure Power Switch utilisent la clé de session pour chiffrer
et déchiffrer les données transmises.

SUPPORT
PSE514 est une solution haute performance de gestion d'alimentation qui
permet de commander à distance 4 prises secteurs au travers d’un réseau
Intranet ou Internet.
L'interface Web supporte le protocole HTTPS pour garantir le plus haut niveau
de sécurité possible. Cet équipement offre de nombreuses fonctions de
surveillance d'équipements IP ainsi que de l'environnement (température,
humidité, fumée…). Il supporte les protocoles HTTP, HTTPS, DHCP, Syslog,
SNMP, SNTP et SMTP.
Une horloge interne permet une gestion précise des actions programmées et la
datation des messages Syslog, des e-mails et des évènements.
Avant d’utiliser votre Power Switch, lisez attentivement les
consignes de sécurité indiquées dans le User Guide sur le CD-ROM.

2/ Configuration
Utilisez l’une des trois méthodes suivantes pour configurer votre Power Switch :
Configuration via le réseau local en utilisant le
programme PS-Finder contenu sur le CD-ROM.
C’est la méthode la plus simple et la plus rapide si vous
utilisez Windows. Elle permet de configurer votre Power
Switch au travers de votre réseau local même si ses
paramètres réseau ne sont pas compatibles avec ceux de
votre PC.
1. Démarrez le programme PS-Finder.exe.
2. Dans la barre d’outils, cliquez sur le premier bouton
pour parcourir votre réseau local et rechercher le Power
Switch que vous venez de connecter.
3. Dans la barre d’outils, cliquez sur le deuxième bouton
et configurez les paramètres réseau.

La connexion série permet d'utiliser les
commandes suivantes:

Configuration via le réseau local en utilisant un
navigateur standard
Lors de la toute première installation, modifiez
momentanément les paramètres réseau de votre PC en
fonction des paramètres réseau par défaut du Power
Switch.
Paramètres réseau par défaut du Power Switch :
Adresse IP : 192.168.100.200 - Port : 443
Passerelle : 255.255.255.0
Protocole par défaut : HTTPS!!!!
1. Démarrez votre navigateur et saisissez l’adresse IP de
votre Power Switch.
2. Saisissez le nom et le mot de passe administrateur
(admin par défaut pour les deux).
La page d’accueil apparaît et vous permet de configurer
votre Power Switch.

Configuration via l’interface série RS232 et une
connexion Terminal.
1. Utilisez le cordon série fourni pour relier le Power Switch
à un port série de votre PC.
2. Démarrez un programme Terminal comme Windows
Hyper Terminal.
3. Configurez le port série de votre PC à 9.600, n, 8, 1,
sans contrôle de flux.
4. Sur le clavier de votre PC, appuyez sur <ENTER> jusqu’à
ce que le prompt «>» apparaisse.
5. Appuyez maintenant sur <TAB> et suivez les instructions
affichées à l’écran pour configurer votre Power Switch.
Toutes les commandes commencent par le caractère «/».
Exemple: tapez la commande /NP pour aller au menu de
configuration des paramètres réseau.

Remarques
Pour obtenir le plus haut niveau de sécurité, il est conseillé de désactiver le programme Finder
après la première installation en décochant la case "Finder authorized".
La modification de l'adresse IP du Secure Power Switch nécessite le calcule de nouvelles clés
SSL. Cette opération dure quelques minutes et le voyant marqué "S" clignote répétitivement 3
fois durant tout le processus. Pendant ce temps, il n'est pas possible de se connecter.
Concernant l'option "DHCP Client enabled"
Si vous validez cette option, il est recommandé d'utiliser un DHCP statique pour que la même
adresse IP soit toujours assignée au Secure Power Switch.
Vous trouverez l'adresse MAC de votre Secure Power Switch sur le fond de son boîtier. Lors de
l'attribution d'une nouvelle adresse IP par le serveur DHCP, le système calcule de nouvelles clés
SSL. Cette opération nécessite quelques minutes.
