Revenue for 1st semester 2013
Press Release Paris, 31 July 2013 6 month revenues to June 2013: +13% YMAGIS (ISIN: FR0011471291, mnemonic: MAGIS), the European digital technology specialist for the cinema exhibition, distribution and production industry posted a total turnover of 20.0 M€ for the 6 month period ending June 30, an increase of 13% year on year. Turnover break down across all activities is as follows: As at 30 June, in k€ 2013 2012 VAR % 12.757 7.285 10.182 7.551 +25.3% -3.5% Sales/installation 3.513 4.920 -28.6% Laboratory/post-production 2.211 1.581 +39.8% Online support services/maintenance 1.561 1.050 +48.7% 20.042 17.733 +13.0% VPF Services TOTAL Every line of business recorded a two figure growth over the period, with the exception of the Sales and Installation of digital equipment business, particularly affected by the anticipated fall of installations in France, where the cinema digitization is now almost completed. This fall should not, however, have an impact on the progression of the Group profit for the first half of the year, since Sales and Installation contributes the least to the Group overall profit margins. Growth in VPF turnover, which with 12.8 M€ (+25.3% year on year) recorded for the period makes 64% of the Group overall revenues, reflects that of the cinema screens under a VPF contract with YMAGIS between June 2012 and June 2013, as shown in the table below: as at 30 June 2012 as at 30 June 2013 1,877 2,195 2,286 2,659 Number of cinema screens rolled out Total number of screens signing a contract Services revenues (36% of the Group total) fell by 3.5% to 7.3 M€, due as explained above to drop in sales of digital projection equipment. All other Services activities have boasted strong, double-digit figure growth: Laboratory revenues increased by 39.8% to 2.2 M€, notably fuelled by the increase in the number of digital copies shipped by YMAGIS, and the development of post-production services. Digital cinema on-line support services and maintenance revenues increased by 48.7% to 1.5 M€, fuelled by the digital cinema screens roll-out progression. The Group is now ready to tackle the second part of the financial year with a solid financial structure, consolidated further by the 11.6 M€ raised following its successful IPO in May on the Nyse Euronext Paris. 1/2 Strong visibility for the second half of the year YMAGIS is confident for the coming months. The Group intends to follow its strategy of extending the number of cinema screens under Ymagis VPF contract in Europe. This has already been illustrated by over 460 new screens signed in the last twelfth months to June 2013, 230 of these being signed in the first half of 2013, notably, in late June 2013, the signature of a contract with Balaña, a prominent, 8 cinema-51 screen-strong Catalan independent exhibitor. Regarding Services, activities will benefit from the Barcelona laboratory opening in July. The forthcoming opening of the Berlin laboratory, coupled with the investments made in the Paris laboratory, will further bolster the remit of the Group in Europe and its potential growth. Finally, YMAGIS will, in the coming months, continue to seek new acquisitions to consolidate its position concerning the entire offer of digital cinema services, and in order to accelerate its growth and achieve its ambition of becoming the largest European operator in digital services and technologies for the cinema industry. Next meeting: results from the first half of 2013, Friday 30 August after the Stock Exchange.
