Make a garlic and chrysanthemum planter that will be beautiful for an entire year. Oct 2: All about Protective Covers for winter gardens and landscapes. Also cover crops, and "Making your Beds" for winter. Oct 9: All about Kale, the new SUPER food. Growing requirements, different styles, and great recipes. Make a kale and viola window or railing box to use for Thanksgiving … Yummy! Oct 16: All about adding herbs to your landscape and your life....So many to choose from and so little Thyme! A High Intensity Interval Training class with a combination of cardio and strength exercises. The intense bursts of exercise intervals will get your heart pumping with a high caloric burn. Kung fu (or gung fu) refers to any individual accomplishment or cultivated skill obtained by long and hard work. So massage your way to a relaxed, de-stressed, improved self! Please bring a water bottle and wear comfortable clothes. To keep the cost low, we require a minimum of 9 registrants to run this class. Pawsitive Dog Training Fee: $84.80 for 6 sessions Saturdays January 5 to December 21, 2013 8am to 9am Ages: Any Dog obedience class for all levels. Focus is on teaching the owner how to train their dog to become a well-behaved pet at home and in public. Course objective is to gain and maintain control of the dog. Dogs of any age are accepted. Puppies must have had their second set of shots. Yoga After Class @ Alderson Location: Alderson Elementary School Wednesdays October 2 to December 11 3:30pm to 4:30pm $33.00 for 11 weeks Ages: 19 and up For teachers and other adults from within SD43. Work on breathing techniques and postures, develop your focus, strength and flexibility. Bring a water bottle and your own mat if you have one. Tuesdays September 3 to December 17 1:00pm to 3:00pm Ages: 55 and up Test your whist skills and meet new people at our weekly drop-in program. A social and strategic time for all participants! A great opportunity to learn from guest speakers and to enjoy support, conversation and validation in a comfortable and relaxed environment. List of expert GUEST SPEAKERS published separately. This is a free Drop-In program--no need to register. We are very grateful to the United Way of the Lower Mainland and the Ministry for Children and Family Development, for their generous financial support without which this program would not be possible. Children's Birthday Parties, 1-10 years Location: Heritage Room-la Salle du Patrimoine September 7 to December 11, 2013 Saturdays 1:30pm to 3:30pm with additional 30 minutes for set up Sundays 10:30am to 12:30pm with additional 30 minutes for set up 1:30pm to 3:30pm with additional 30 minutes for set up $145 for 12 children, with an additional $5/child up to 24 children Birthday parties for children aged 1 to 10 years. We provide the space and the staff who supervise a craft, games and a wide variety of activities suitable for children, and as agreed upon with the organizer. Organizer is responsible for hall set up (with staff assistance) and clean-up, food, beverages and supplies, as well as decorations and give-away items. Time booked may be adjusted based on availability of the Heritage Room (lower hall). Use of our high-def projector is available for an additional $20.00 rental fee. Location: Heritage Room-la Salle du Patrimoine Saturday November 30, 2013 1:30pm to 3:30pm Ages: Any This free workshop allows you to make your own lantern for Place des Arts' Light up the Square, A Lantern Affair. The lanterns will be used in a special ceremony Saturday, December 7 from 4:30pm to 7:30pm in the main hall of Place des Arts, 1120 Brunette Avenue in Coquitlam. Step Up for Place Maillardville Walk-a-Thon & Hockey-a-Thon Fundraiser Location: Place Maillardville Community Centre – entire facility Saturday, September 14, 2013 9:00am to 12:00pm Ages: Any 2nd annual Step Up for Place Maillardville Community Centre Walk-a-Thon! Pledge packages received upon registration. * BBQ and corn 11am to 1pm * Multiple routes available so families with little kids can participate * Plenty of program demonstrations * Silent auction * 50/50 tickets To get the youth engaged we will hold a parallel “Hockey a Thon” where the kids can collect pledges based on hours spent playing hockey.
