UN PASSAGE INCONTOURNABLE VERS LE SOMMET
Organisé par la Fédération
Internationale de l’Automobile et
Citroën Racing, le championnat FIA
Junior WRC constitue un point de
passage incontournable pour les
pilotes désirant évoluer par la suite
en WRC2 et en WRC. Généralement
issus des championnats nationaux,
continentaux (ERC, MERC…) ou
des formules de promotion telles
que le Citroën Racing Trophy, les
pilotes doivent être âgés de moins de
28 ans et s’aligner avec le concours
d’une équipe de leur choix.
Après une édition 2014 pleine
de succès, la formule du
championnat FIA Junior WRC évolue
sensiblement pour cette nouvelle
saison. Les concurrents doivent
désormais s’engager au volant de
la DS 3 R3-MAX, plus performante
tout en conservant l’excellent niveau
de fiabilité de la DS 3 R3. Débutant
avec le mythique Rallye MonteCarlo, le calendrier est constitué de
sept manches, au sein desquelles
chaque pilote doit en nominer six
pour marquer des points.
Sur chaque rallye, Citroën Racing
assure l’encadrement sportif du
championnat et met en place un
support technique pour les équipes.
Ce dispositif vise à garantir une
parfaite équité entre les concurrents
du championnat FIA Junior WRC.

AN ESSENTIAL STEPPING STONE TO THE
UPPER ECHELONS OF RALLYING
Organised by the FIA and Citroën
Racing, the FIA Junior WRC is an
essential stepping stone for young
drivers hoping to make it into
the WRC2 and then the WRC.
Generally graduating from national
and continental championships
(ERC, MERC, etc.) or from
promotional formulas such as the
Citroën Racing Trophy, drivers must
be under 28 years old and join
forces with a team of their choosing.
After a highly successful campaign
in 2014, the format of the FIA
Junior WRC is set to undergo some
significant changes for the new
season. The competitors must now
compete in a DS 3 R3-MAX, which
offers greater performance than
the DS 3 R3, whilst preserving the
previous model’s excellent reliability.
Starting with the legendary Rallye
Monte-Carlo, the race calendar
features seven rounds this year, from
which each driver must nominate six
at which he/she can score points.
At each rally, Citroën Racing
manages the sporting side of the
championship and also provides
technical support to the teams. This
system ensures that all of the drivers
and teams in the FIA Junior WRC are
treated entirely fairly and equally.
Like Stéphane Lefebvre this
season, the 2015 FIA Junior WRC
Champion will be rewarded with a
programme run by Citroën Racing
and its partners Total and Michelin,
involving participation in six rounds
of the WRC2 in a DS 3 R5.

FORMAT OF THE COMPETITION
– From the calendar of seven World Championship rallies, each driver must choose
the six rounds at which he/she wishes to score points
– The six results of each driver count towards the final standings
– The age limit for obtaining the FIA Junior WRC title is set at 28 years old (drivers
born after 1 January, 1986)
– Drivers entered in the FIA Junior WRC are also eligible to score points in the WRC3
– A FIA Nations Trophy will be awarded at the end of the season

The DS3 R3-MAX, which was homologated by the FIA (homologation
number: A-5733) was developed and fine-tuned by Citroën Racing’s technical
department. This model has been selected to be used by competitors in the
FIA Junior WRC, in accordance with the FIA-approved specifications.

OPERATORS
The programme is open to operators selected by Citroën Racing
and who undertake to comply with the specifications drawn up by
Citroën Racing.
In order to ensure sporting fairness between the competitors,
a satisfactory level of quality of service and to keep costs under
control, the specifications will state in particular:
– The recommended price at which the operator undertakes to
provide its services
– The minimum human resources
– The minimum stock levels of spare parts to be held at a rally,
which must comply with Citroën Racing’s technical list
– The graphic guidelines that must be observed
– The technical conditions involved in building and operating
the cars must be strictly observed in order to obtain the levels of
performance and reliability anticipated by Citroën Racing
Failure to observe any of these conditions will lead to the
application of financial penalties.
