Le Portugal ne se résume pas aux grandes villes comme Porto ou Lisbonne. Treize sites sont
classés au patrimoine mondial de L’UNESCO, la plupart d’entre eux se situant au milieu ou au
nord du pays…Pendant notre séjour à Lisbonne, nous avons donc décidé de partir à la découverte
du Grand Lisbonne (Grande Lisboa), et nous en sommes revenus avec des images plein la tête.
Portugal is not just about Porto or Lisbon. . Thirteen areas are declared World Heritage sites by
UNESCO, most of them lying in the middle and north of the country. During our stay in Lisbon we
have thus decided to discover the Great Lisbon (Grande Lisboa), and we came back with our
heads filled with images!
THE PORTUGUESE RIVIERA
Des rives du Tage qui baignent Lisbonne, aux stations balnéaires de Cascais et Estoril, qui effleurent l'océan
Atlantique, en passant par les merveilles de Sintra et Penha, la riviera portugaise est un havre de paix et un

Au fil du fleuve, ce dernier s'élargit. Plus loin, c'est l'océan Atlantique qui se dessine... À quelques
encablures de la ville millénaire, une autre vie, une autre atmosphère s'installe. La « Costa de Estoril »
dévoile ses charmes. En empruntant la côte, vers le soleil couchant, c'est un « autre Portugal » qui
apparaît.
The river expands. Further, it is the Atlantic Ocean which is emerging ... A short drive from the ancient city,
another life, another atmosphere is settled. The "Costa de Estoril" reveals its charms. Driving along the
coast, into the sunset, "another Portugal" is appearing..
Entre océan, et montagne, la côte sud- ouest de Lisbonne recèle de multiples trésors, maritimes pour les
uns, romantiques pour les autres, mais tous font du delta du Tage un lieu d'histoire.
Between ocean and mountains, the south-west coast of Lisbon is full of many treasures, maritime for some,
romantic for others, but all make from the Delta of the Tejo a place of history.

1. Sintra
UNESCO World Heritage Site
Le paysage culturel de Sintra est tellement envoûtant qu’il est protégé par
l’UNESCO, notamment en raison son architecture romantique du 19e
siècle. Situé à environ 25 km au nord-ouest de Lisbonne, Sintra est une
ville magnifique et à couper le souffle offrant les plus belles architectures
du Portugal .
The Cultural Landscape of Sintra is that kind of place that was added to
UNESCO’s List due to the romantic architectural developments in the 19th
century. Located about 25km northwest of Lisbon, Sintra is a magnificent
and breathtakingly beautiful town boasting some of the finest architecture
to be found anywhere in Portugal today
2. Piriquita
Rua Padarias 18 – R/C, 2710-603 Sintra
A Sintra, vous devez absolument vous arrêtez au salon de thé Piriquita,
situé dans une petite allée, à proximité de l’hôtel de ville. Les pâtisseries
locales réputées, telles que les travesseiros (oreillers) et les queijadas
(petits gateaux au fromage).
When in Sintra, you must stop at the Piriquita coffee, situated in a small
alley, not far from the town hall. They are well-known in the region for their
typical pastries such as the travesseiros (pillows) and the queijadas (chees
pastries).
3. Cidadela de Cascais
Avenida D. Carlos I, 750-310 Cascais
L'ensemble de la citadelle de Cascais, qui comprend le Fort de NotreDame de la Lumière, la Torre de Santo António Cascais, et toute la partie
fortifiée qui se situe entre Ponta do Salmodo et le Club Naval de Cascais,
est considérée comme la propriété d'intérêt public depuis 1977. L’endroit
abrite actuellement un hôtel, “Pousada de Cascais” et un musée

between Ponta do Salmodo and Clube Naval de Cascais , is classified

4. Train ride from Lisbon to Cascais
Un court trajet en train le long de la rive relie la gare de Lisbonne à
Cascais. Une grande partie du trajet est effectuée le long de la mer,
en donnant une valeur ajoutée à ce voyage en train. On y apercoit
également un défilé des monuments de l'ancienne centrale Tejo, le
monastère de Jeronimos, le centre culturel et la Tour de Belem.
A short train ride along the shore from Lisbon station leads to Cascais.
Much of the journey is made by the sea; giving an added value to this
tourist train journey. It is also a parade of monuments from the ancient
Central Tejo, the monastery of Jeronimos, Cultural center and Tower
of Belem.

3. Palacio Estoril Hotel 5*

Le Palacio Estoril est un établissement centenaire. Mis à part une très
belle salle (250 personnes) donnant sur le jardin, les autres salons ne
bénéficient pas d’une clarté optimale. Sur les 161 chambres certaines ont
été rénovées récemment et d’autres le seront en 2013 et 2014.
The Palacio Estoril has been opened from more than 100 years. Except
the ballroom (250 pax) that has a view on the garden, the other meetings
rooms are lacking some daylights. Some of the 161 guest rooms have
been renovated recently, others will be in 2013 and 2014.

4. Estoril Congress Center

Le Centre des congrès d'Estoril (capacité maximale de 1000 délégués) a
été inauguré en 2001. Il est certifié comme un lieu vert à la fois au Portugal
et en Espagne.
The Estoril Congress Center (maximum capacity of 1000 delegates) was
inaugurated in 2001. It is certified as a green venue both in Portugal and
Spain.
