Communiqué au sujet de notre centre de formation aux métiers du tourisme « Le Tonlé » – école – guesthouse et restaurant à Stung
Treng, Cambodge

- Tourism for Help a le regret de vous annoncer que son projet de centre de formation, guesthouse et restaurant de Stung Treng fermera ses
portes à la fin du mois d'août 2015 après 8 ans de gestion et de financement par Tourism for Help (Suisse), par Tourism for Help (France) de 2007
à fin août 2015 et , également, par la Fédération Genevoise de Coopération depuis 2012.
- Conformément à notre vision de départ, Tourism for Help a longuement recherché et finalement trouvé une ONG locale (CRDT - Cambodian
Rural Development Team) avec qui nous cogérons ce projet depuis octobre 2012.
- Entre-temps le binôme a ouvert, en parallèle, un second centre de formation, restaurant et guesthouse à Kratie, ville qui est nettement plus prisée
par les touristes et donc beaucoup plus intéressante pour la formation de nos étudiants.
- Par conséquent, nous avons décidé, d'un commun accord, de fermer définitivement le centre de formation, le restaurant et la guesthouse de
Stung Treng à la fin du mois d'août 2015 et de tout regrouper à Kratie dès le 1er septembre 2015; cette décision de transfert est récente. En effet,
après ces 3 ans de fructueuse collaboration avec CRDT, Tourism for Help (Suisse) et (France) se retireront complètement de ce projet
cambodgien le 30.09.2015 et le remettront totalement et en pleine confiance à notre partenaire CRDT.

- En revanche, pas de souci pour les jeunes étudiants/apprentis. En effet, ces derniers fréquentent notre centre de formation pour une période de
12 mois, soit de début octobre à fin septembre (le dernier mois étant consacré à la recherche d'emploi et donc non scolaire).
- En principe, la nouvelle volée d'étudiants commencera en octobre 2015 et ceux-ci fréquenteront donc le centre de formation à Kratie.
- Enfin et pour information, jusqu'ici entre 90 et 95% de tous les élèves qui ont fréquenté notre centre de formation ont trouvé un poste de travail
lorsqu'ils ont quitté Le Tonlé.

Statement about our Tourism Training Centre « Le Tonlé » - school – guesthouse and restaurant in Stung Treng, Cambodia
- Tourism for Help regrets to announce you their training project, guesthouse and restaurant in Stung Treng will close at the end of August 2015.
During 8 years this project was run by Tourism for Help (Switzerland), Tourism for Help (France) from 2007 until end of August 2015 and also by
the Fédération Genevoise de Coopération since October 2012.
- In accordance to the aim from the beginning, Tourism for Help was looking for local NGO and finally found CRDT – Cambodian Rural
Development Team - with which we co-manage the project since October 2012.
- In the meantime, we opened together a second training centre with guesthouse and restaurant in Kratie ; this town has a much bigger potential in
tourism and is more interesting for our students-training.
- Therefore, we have decided together to definitely close the Stung Treng training centre, guesthouse and restaurant at the end of August 2015
and to move the complete structure to Kratie.
- Indeed after 3 years of successfull collaboration with CRDT, Tourism for Help (Switzerland) and (France) will withdraw from his
Cambodian project on 30th, September 2015 and completely hand it over with full confidence to our partner CRDT.

- About our students, no worry, as the schoolyear runs from October until end September (this last month is not education but their « hollidays »
and ment to help them to find a job).
- The recruitment and schoolyear 2015-2016 will probably start before the end of 2015 in training centre Kratie.
- At least, Tourism for Help is very happy and proud to let you know that 90-95% of all our former students had found a job at the end of their
training.
