Château des Vigiers is an internationally renowned Hotel, Golf and Country Club in the beautiful and unspoilt countryside
of the Dordogne, South West France, right in the heart of the famous wine districts. Located just 20 minutes from
Bergerac and about an hour east of Bordeaux, Château des Vigiers is easily accessible from many airports.
Château des Vigiers has been restored and is now a luxurious 4-star hotel with 87 rooms and suites. The Château forms
the centrepiece of a magnificent 27 hole championship style golf course designed by Donald Steel.
The Maria Galland™ Beauty Centre offers a variety of professional beauty treatments, as well as a sauna, steam room,
Jacuzzi, outdoor heated swimming pool and fitness centre which is a real bonus for non-golfing guests.
Enjoy local delicacies such as foie gras and magret de canard as well as lighter snacks at our Brasserie “Le Chai” and
sample our chef’s more refined creations at the restaurant “Les Fresques”.
Château des Vigiers is the perfect base from which to explore the region; the famous towns and attractions such as St
Emilion, Sarlat, Lascaux and Bergerac are all within easy reach.
How to get there ?
By Air
Château des Vigiers is located just an hour and 15 minutes East of Bordeaux airport. There are many direct flights to
Bordeaux from various European cities including London, Amsterdam, Francfort, Dublin, Waterford, Stockholm and
Basel and now also from Cologne, Berlin and Dresden by the low cost carrier Germanwings.
Toulouse, 2 hours' drive away, connects also with many more destinations.
We can arrange airport transfers and hire cars for you - just let reception know at the time of booking. All major Hire Car
agencies operate from the airports (Avis, Hertz, Europcar)
By Road
Many guests drive to Château des Vigiers. GPS N44.79184°, E0.28585° (Destination: Golf du Chateau des Vigiers)
By Train
Many guests choose to take the super fast TGV train from Paris. It takes 3 hours to Libourne station, on the Bordeaux
line, which is only a 50 minute drive from Chateau des Vigiers and we can organise a taxi transfer, though some guests
prefer to take the local shuttle train to Ste Foy la Grande.

The resort
Château des Vigiers has a total of 87 rooms housed in
three different buildings on the estate the Château, the
Relais and the Dépendances, all within close proximity
of the restaurants, golf course and our other facilities.
The Château
The Château has been carefully restored in French
Country House style and retains many of the original
16th Century features giving a warm and romantic
atmosphere.
“Deluxe” Rooms Deluxe rooms have views over the
golf course or the park. The rooms are spacious with a
romantic feel and each one is individually and tastefully
decorated in French country house style using period
furniture. 12 rooms of between 30 to 45 m², each with
ensuite bath and separate WC.
“Classic” Rooms Classic Château rooms are located in
the patio wing of the Château and are comfortably and
attractively furnished and decorated in a more modern
style. Most are situated on the ground floor. 13 rooms
of between 30 to 35 m², each with ensuite bath and
separate WC.
Relais des Vigiers
Relais des Vigiers is located next to the 1st tee and
within a few yards of the pro shop and Brasserie. Its 40
rooms are specifically geared to the golfers and
Families. The building itself takes its inspiration from
the ancient tobacco barns and it was built according to
strict “Eco Friendly” standards; using local timber and
materials in its construction whilst also using the latest
solar energy technology. The Relais houses its own
breakfast room, bar, heated swimming pool and high
tech fitness centre.
“Tradition” Rooms are built to strict "Eco Friendly"
standards, spacious (36m²) and each has a terrace or
balcony with stunning views over the golf course and
vineyards. Each room has ensuite walk-in shower room
and separate WC. These rooms are particularly suited to
golfers and families.
The Dépendances
Situated a stone’s throw from the Chateau, the
Dépendances were built in typical Périgord style where
local stone and oak beams have been used to great
effect. The impressive Junior Suites were designed with
families in mind and consist of a living room with double
height ceilings and terrace on the ground floor and the
bedroom and bathroom on the mezzanine floor. The
décor is a warm mix of stone, oak beams and terracotta
tiles.

"Dépendances" consist of a light, airy sitting room with
double height ceilings and terrace on the ground floor
and the bedroom and bathroom on the mezzanine floor.

Restaurants
Brasserie “Le Chai”
The Brasserie is situated in the old wine making building
and retains the character and charm of its historic
origins including its impressive vaulted ceiling. The
cuisine serves lighter meals such as omelettes or salads
as well full menus including local specialities such as
foie gras and confit de canard.
Gourmet Restaurant “Les Fresques”
Situated in the West Wing of the ancient château, the
Fresques is adorned with Renaissance style frescos.
With a cosy and chic atmosphere, diners enjoy superb
views over the lake and a high standard of cuisine
accompanied by discreet and professional service. The
menus are simple and delicious and vary according to
the season with an emphasis on seafood and local
produce..
Golf
Golf: 27 Holes + 6 Hole Academy Course Donald Steel,
considered to be one of the very best "natural" golf
course architects, created our unique 27 hole course in
its enthralling setting amidst plum trees, oak woods,
lakes and vineyards. Donald, who has contributed to
many world-famous courses, designed the course with
the Château as its centrepiece; the 9th and 18th
finishing off in front of the Château; and many of the
other undulating greens with different perspectives of
the Château.
The 27 hole course is divided into three 9 hole loops :
"La Vallée" course, PAR 36, 3112m, “Le Lac” course,
PAR 35, 2935m, “Les Vignes” course, PAR 36, 3083m.
Golfers play three different configurations of 18 holes,
each with different slopes (from 125 to 129). In
addition, we have 2 training zones for chipping, bunkers
or rolling.., a covered range with targets from 50 to 200
m, and the 6 hole academy course (1035 m). “La
Vallée” Course: PAR 36, 3246m “Le Lac” Course: PAR
35, 2895m “Les Vignes” Course: PAR 36, 3112m The
