IAAF WORLD ATHLETICS SERIES 2014 – 2017
FOR TV MEDIA SPORT
Once again, TV Media Sport expands its portfolio with the acquisition of the IAAF World Athletics Series
rights, on its dedicated territories, from Eurovision - the IAAF partner for Europe and Africa, for the period
2014-2017 on 49 territories in Sub-Saharan Africa. This acquisition strengthens both the credibility and the
knowledge of TVMS with International Federations and African audiences.
TVMS, who has just successfully distributed the Olympic Winter Games "Sochi 2014", had previously
demonstrated its know-how with the UEFA EURO 2012, the IAAF World Athletics Championships "Moscow
2013" and other significant international sport events.
Eurovision and TV Media Sport have signed a media rights agreement for the IAAF World Championships
“Beijing 2015”, “London 2017”, and a package of world athletics competitions organized by the IAAF for the
period 2014-2017. TVMS has already commercialised the TV rights of the 2014 IAAF World Indoor
Championships that took place in Sopot, Poland early March and will continue this year with the IAAF
Continental Cup (September 13th and 14th), the first edition on the African continent.
TV Media Sport will be distributing a dedicated signal with commentaries in both English and French for all
events.
TV Media Sport’s CEO Hédi Hamel is "delighted by this agreement which shows TVMS’s privileged role in
delivering exposure to world athletics through our network of national and private TV partners in the
African continent."
In recent years, TVMS has strengthened the world athletics image and audience on the main African TV
channels, bringing it as the No. 2 sport after football.

dealing with TV rights, media management, and the organisation and marketing of sporting events,
specialised on the African continent. TV Media Sport also has a close relationship with international sports

POUR TV MEDIA SPORT
Une fois de plus, sur ses territoires dédiés, TV Media Sport élargit sa présence sur le marché avec
l’acquisition des droits auprès de l’Eurovision, en partenariat avec Dentsu, des World Athletics Series de
l’IAAF pour la période 2014-2017 sur 49 territoires d’Afrique Sub-Saharienne. Cette acquisition renforce à
la fois la crédibilité et l’expertise de TVMS auprès des Fédérations Internationales et des publics africains.
TVMS qui vient de distribuer avec succès les Jeux Olympiques d’hiver « Sotchi 2014 », avait déjà fait la
démonstration de son savoir-faire avec l’UEFA EURO 2012 de football, les Championnats du Monde
d’Athlétisme « Moscou 2013 » et d’autres événements marquants du sport international.
L’Eurovision et TVMS ont signé un contrat de droits média et marketing pour les Championnats du Monde
de « Pékin 2015 » et « Londres 2017 » et les autres compétitions organisées par l’IAAF pendant la période
2014 à 2017. Pour rappel, TVMS vient de commercialiser les droits TV des Championnats du Monde
Indoor de l’IAAF qui se sont déroulés à Sopot en Pologne et poursuivra cette année par notamment la 1ère
édition sur le continent Africain de la Coupe Continentale de l’IAAF.
TV Media Sport distribuera un signal spécifique avec des commentaires en version anglaise et française
pour tous les évènements.
Le Directeur Général de TV Media Sport Hédi Hamel est : « ravi par cet accord qui marque le rôle privilégié
de TVMS dans l’exposition de l’athlétisme mondial auprès de notre réseau de télévisions partenaires
nationales et privées sur le continent africain ».
Voici quelques années déjà que TVMS a renforcé la place et l’audience de l’athlétisme mondial sur les
principales antennes africaines, parvenant ainsi à le positionner comme sport N°2 après le football sur ce
continent.
