Nous avons laissé faire les forces de la nature, l’eau et le soleil, le vent et
le feu que la main de l’artisan a guidées avec humilité vers une nouvelle
voie décorative.
The collection Mirages takes us back to our roots. Innovation carries an
authentic, almost primary dimension, where natural elements are key.
Forces of nature, water and sun, wind and fire, were humbly guided by
the hand of the craftsman towards a new decorative route.

Le chêne antique,
la valeur du temps.
C’est dans de vieilles habitations d’Europe
centrale des 18ème et 19ème siècles qu’il faut
aller chercher l’origine du chêne antique.
Les grumes y sont alors transformées en
planches épaisses et brutes puis encastrées
entre elles pour former murs et structure de
petites habitations rurales. 200 ans plus tard,
la surface érodée et l’aspect de vécu du bois
sont le résultat naturel de l’action du temps
et de la lumière. L’orientation et la durée
d’exposition du chêne aux intempéries sont
fondamentales à l’actuelle physionomie
des planches. Sélectionnées avec soin, elles
révèlent un singulier et profond relief, une
tonalité naturelle et changeante sans aucun
artifice pour vivre aujourd’hui un nouvel âge.
Antique oak,
the value of time.
The origins of antique oak lie in the old Central
European dwellings of the 18th and 19th
centuries. Logs were transformed here into
thick rough boards and then fitted together to
form the walls and structures of small rural
residences. 200 years later, the eroded surfaces
and worn appearance of the wood are the
natural result of wear over time and exposure
to light. The orientation and exposure period
of the oak to weathering are fundamental to
the present appearance of the boards. Carefully
selected, they reveal a distinctive and deep grain
texture, a changing and natural shade without
any artifice, allowing them to enter into a new
age today.

Le tilleul sculpté carbonisé,
la main et le feu.
Sur un bois brut, la main sculpte un damier
vibrant qui semble inachevé. Avec maîtrise
et soin, un premier feu brûle la surface du
bois. Le geste est répété jusqu’à obtenir une
véritable combustion et révéler une matière
craquelée, carbonisée d’un noir unique. De
cette maîtrise aléatoire où bois et feu hésitent
entre lutte et séduction, naît une étrange
finition dont la couleur et la texture ne font
qu’un.
Carved and charred basswood,
hand and fire.
On raw wood, the hand carved vibrant checkerboard seems unfinished.With precision and care,
an initial fire burns the surface of the wood. The
gesture is repeated until a proper combustion is
obtained, revealing a cracked material, charred
to a unique black. An extraordinary finish is
born from this random precision, where fire and
wood are torn between struggle and seduction,
revealing a colour and texture uniting as one.

Le marbre Sahara noir,
un textile de pierre.
Aller chercher un minerai au coeur de la terre
a quelque chose d’exceptionnel et de magique.
Celui-ci, extrait des profondeurs du désert
tunisien, est étonnant. Il a fallu des millions
d’années de fossilisation de l’or noir pour
atteindre la morphologie actuelle de la pierre.
Sur fond de fines couches obscures s’entrecroisent des veines naturelles blanches et
safran au dessin unique évoquant un tissage
africain artisanal.
Black Sahara marble,
a stone textile.
Seeking out ore in the heart of the earth induces
something special and magical. This particular
one, extracted from the depths of the Tunisian
desert is amazing. It took millions of years of
fossilisation of black gold to obtain the present
morphology of the stone. Natural white and
saffron veins intersect on a base of dark thin
layers in a unique design, evoking a handcrafted
African weaving.
Sahara
L’acier oxydé,
un vestige moderne.
Cet acier épais et robuste est le socle commun
à chaque pièce. Plié en cornière ou en tripode,
souligné d’un large fil de soudure déposé à
la main, il se décline en piètements à l’allure
minimale et rassurante. Le temps joue pour
lui, sa finition «Corten» à l’aspect de rouille
révélée par plus de 20 jours d’oxydation, lui
confère un vécu hâlé aux nuances brun orangé
et une allure antique et brute d’une grande
modernité.
Oxidised steel,
a modern relic.
This thick and sturdy steel is the common basis
for each piece. Shaped into corner pieces or
tripods, highlighted by a large welding wire
laid by hand, its base offers a minimalistic yet
reassuring look. Time is on its side, its «Corten»
finish with a rust appearance has been revealed
after more than 20 days of oxidation, giving it
a weathered finish in orange-brown shades,
as well as an antique and raw appearance,
reflecting an ultimate modern touch.
