Call for Papers ASB 2016
The 46th Atlantic Schools of Business Conference is being hosted this year by The Sobey
School of Business, Saint Mary’s University (Halifax) from October 21-23, 2016. The
theme of this year’s conference is: The business of knowledge/The knowledge of business.
This year’s theme speaks to the role of business education in the study and understanding
of business, and to the role of business practice in shaping the character of education.
Through the theme we hope to encourage a range of papers that expand our knowledge of
business; critique the role of business in education; and/or explore the paradoxical
relationships between the two.
The deadline for receipt of paper and symposium submissions is SEPTEMBER
9TH. Papers are welcomed in either English or French and should be submitted
directly to the appropriate Area Interest Chair listed below.
Keynote Speaker:
The keynote speaker is Professor Martin Parker, Professor of Organization and Culture
and former editor of the journal Organization. Professor Parker is from Leicester
University School of Business and will speak at the Saturday evening banquet.
Conference fees will be:
$220 + HST $33 = $253
Before September 15, 2016
$260 + HST $39 = $299 After September 15, 2016
$130 + HST $19.5 = $149.50 Graduate and undergraduate students
$80 + HST $12 = $92.50 Spouse/Companion*
* Friday reception and Saturday dinner only
Your registration fee includes Friday evening reception, Saturday breakfast and
luncheon, Saturday evening dinner and coffee breaks and Sunday breakfast.
Accommodation:
A limited number of rooms have been blocked for Oct. 21 to Oct 23 at the Lord
Nelson Hotel, which will be held up to and including August 30, 2016. Individuals
may make their own reservations with the hotel directly at 1-800-565-2020 or (902)
423-5130 or by email at [email protected]. They must identify that they are
with Atlantic Schools of Business (ASB) to receive the special rate of $159 p/night,
plus taxes (single or double occupancy). More details will be posted on the ASB

La 46e conférence de l’Atlantic Schools of Business est organisée cette année par la
Sobey School of Business de l'Université Saint Mary's à Halifax, du 21 au 23 octobre
2016. Le thème de la conférence de cette année est:
L’entreprise de la connaissances/la connaissance de l’entreprise OU Les affaires de la
connaissances/la connaissance des affaires
Le thème de cette année reconnait le rôle de l’éducation dans l’étude et la compréhension
de l’entreprise ainsi que le rôle de l’entreprise et de ses pratiques commerciales dans le
façonnement de l’éducation. Grâce au thème nous espérons encourager la soumission de
papiers qui élargissent notre connaissance de l’entreprise; critiquent le rôle des
entreprises en matière d’éducation; et/ou explorent les relations paradoxales entre les
deux.

Submissions are welcome in both French and English. Please submit your papers to
the Area Division Chairs below.

Le conférencier invité est le professeur Martin Parker, professeur de culture

l’Ecole des sciences de la gestion de l’Université Leicester et sa conférence se tiendra
lors du banquet du samedi soir.
