Objectifs du cours /
Course objectives
- Acquire general knowledge of European culture and Identity
throughout the 20th century, in its cultural, social, economic, and
political aspects.
- Contribute to a better understanding and analysis of Europe, in its
contemporary complexity and diversity.
- Enhance listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English
Compétences acquises/
Learning outcomes
Students will:
- Link social, economic, cultural and political developments in both
Western and Eastern Europe throughout the 20th century
- Recognize the extent and consequences of major historical events
of the 20th century (wars, decolonization, Cold War) on European
thought.
- Develop a personal, subtle analysis of European history in order to
better understand Europe today.
