Le congrès annuel de l’ACPLS de 1994 a eu lieu à l’hôtel Prince Édouard à
Charlottetown les 6 et 7 mai. Le thème était : Les langues : passeport pour l’avenir, et les
co-présidentes étaient Debbie Pineau et Helen Lockerby. Le pré congrès a eu lieu le 5
mai, et il y a eu pendant cette journée plusieurs séances plénières, y comprenant :
Maritime Oral Communication Assessment Portfolio, présentée par Sally Rehorick et Joe
Dicks; Évaluer à l’aide du jeu de rôle et de la simulation, présentée par Michel Lafontaine
et Danielle Coupal; et Getting the Most out of Electronic Conferencing and Electronic
Bulletin Boards for you and Your Second Language Students, présentée par les membres
exécutifs de GREPE : Helen Coltrinari, Peter Heffernan et Paul Ledet. Ensuite, le jeudi
soir après l’inscription, il y a eu l’ouverture officielle et un spectacle, suivi par une
réception à Province House.
Le vendredi, après les mots de bienvenue, il y a eu un spectacle spécial intitulé : Armoire,
présenté par Alex Fancy et Tintamarre, un groupe théâtral. Par la suite, il y a eu divers
ateliers, et à la fin de la journée, après que les ateliers étaient tous terminés, il y a eu un
banquet avec une invitée spéciale, Angèle Arsenault, un auteur, compositrice et
interprète. Le lendemain, samedi, il y a eu d’autres ateliers présentés.

The CASLT Annual Conference of 1994 took place at the Prince Edward Hotel in
Charlottetown, May 6 and 7. The theme was Languages: Passport to the Future, and the
co-chairs were Debbie Pineau and Helen Lockerby. The pre-conference was held on
May 5th, and was very eventful. There were various plenary sessions, including the
Maritime Oral Communication Assessment Portfolio presented by Sally Rehorick and
Joe Dicks; Évaluer à l’aide du jeu de role et de la simulation presented by Michel
Lafontaine and Danielle Coupal; Getting the most out electronic conferencing and
bulletin boards for you and your second language students presented by GREPE
Executive members, Helen Coltrinari, Peter Heffernan and Paul Ledet. That evening,
there was the registration for the conference, an official opening and entertainment
followed by a reception at the Provincial House.
On Friday, following the welcome, there was a special performance named Armoire,
presented by Alex Fancy and Tintamarre, a theatrical group. There were various
workshops that the participants attended and once they were completed, there was a
banquet with special guest Angèle Arsenault, an author, composer and performer. The
following day, on Saturday, the workshops continued.
