BACKGROUND:
Jenny Ciochetti split time pushing Helen Upperton’s sled during her fourth year on
the World Cup circuit in 2009-10. With pilot Helen Upperton, Jenny enjoyed great
success on the Canadian Bobsleigh Team, having teamed up to win three World
Cup races together, and a total of seven podium finishes. Jenny also teamed up
with Upperton to finish fourth at the 2009 World Championships in Lake Placid, USA
for the second straight season.
In 2010-11 season, Jenny embarked on a new mission after taking driver’s school
with Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton. Focused on driving her way back up to the elite
circuit as a pilot, Jenny enjoyed a successful rookie season on the America’s Cup in
2010-11 when she reached the podium five times. After moving to the Europa Cup
circut last year, Jenny got her first taste of driving against the best pilots on the
planet with two starts on the World Cup. Putting the team first, she took a step
back from driving to push Kaillie Humphries to the top of the podium at the World
Cup in Calgary – one week before winning the 2012 World Championships in Lake
Placid.
An outstanding athlete, Jenny was a top sprinter for the University of Alberta. She
was recruited to the world of bobsleigh by Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton’s
Development Head Coach, Matt Hindle, to participate in one of the national team
testing camps.

Jenny Ciochetti a été une des freins de Helen Upperton durant sa cinquième année
en tournée de Coupe du Monde, 2009-10. Avec la pilote Helen Upperton, Jenny a
eu beaucoup de succès en équipe canadienne de bobsleigh : ensemble, elles ont eu
trois médailles d’or en Coupe du Monde, et sept médailles au total. Jenny a
également fait équipage avec Upperton pour finir en quatrième place au
Championnat du Monde 2009 à Lake Placid, Etats-Unis, pour la deuxième année
consécutive.

En saison 2010-11, Jenny a entamé une nouvelle étape dans sa carrière, après
avoir suivi le cours de pilotage de Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton. S’étant fixé l’objectif
de s’établir en tournée d’élite en tant que pilote, Jenny a connu une première
saison très réussie en tournée de Coupe d’Amérique 2010-11, avec cinq médailles
au total. Concourant la saison dernière en tournée de Coupe Europa, Jenny glissait
pour la première fois contre les meilleures pilotes au monde, incluant deux
compétitions de Coupe du Monde. Mettant les intérêts de l’équipe au premier plan,
elle délaissait le pilotage temporairement pour pousser Kaillie Humphries jusqu’au
plus haut rang du podium en Coupe du Monde à Calgary, et une semaine plus tard,
elles ont remporté ensemble le Championnat du Monde 2012 à Lake Placid.
Athlète talentueuse, Jenny était sprinteuse vedette à l’Université de l’Alberta. Elle a
été recrutée dans le bobsleigh par Matt Hindle, l’entraîneur en chef du programme
de développement chez Bobsleigh Canada Skeleton, pour participer à un camp
d’évaluation.
