Pr Maria KAIKA – University of Manchester (Royaume Uni)
Maria Kaika holds a D.Phil. in Geography from the University of Oxford, and an MA in Architecture from the National
Technical University of Athens as well as professional qualifications as an architect.
She is Editor of the International Journal of Urban and Regional Research. In 2012, she was appointed City of Vienna
Visiting Professor. Maria Kaika is regular research funding assessor for the ESRC, and for the Social Sciences and
Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), and appointed peer reviewer of the European Science Foundation
Standing Committee for the Social Sciences (SCSS), the European Union, the Georgian Science Foundation, and the Latsis
Foundation. She has given seminars and public lectures for international academic institutions, policy organizations (UN
Habitat, Royal Academy of Arts, Amnesty International, European Science Foundation, Architecture Foundation,
European Environmental Bureau, Greek Environment Ministry) and the private sector (Seville Water company, Thames
Water), and has acted as external examiner for the London School of Economics, UCL, Goldsmiths, the Universities of
Otago, New Zealand, the National Technical University of Athens (Architecture), and the Harokopeio University of
Athens (Geography)

Pr Zeynep ARSEL – Concordia University (Canada)
Les travaux de recherche de Zeynep Arsel portent sur la consommation des lieux, les systèmes d’échange et les goûts
dans une perspective sociologique. D’un point de vue managérial, ses recherches ont des applications entre autres au
niveau de la gestion de la marque, du design des services et des lieux, et de l’utilisation des médias sociaux. Les
recherches de Zeynep ont été publiées dans Journal of Consumer Research et Journal of Marketing. Aujourd’hui, elle est
membre du comité éditorial de Consumption, Markets and Culture et de Journal of Consumer Research. Elle fait partie
du comité d’organisation des conférences de la CCT (Consumer Culture Theory) de ACR (Association for Consumer
Reseach). Enfin, Zeynep est également relecteur pour de nombreuses revues en marketing.

Pr Luca GAMMAITONI, Université de Perugia (Italie)
Le Pr Gammaitoni est Professeur de l’Université de Perugia en Italie. Il est spécialiste du bruit, de dynamique non linéaire
et de l’énergie. Il est également directeur du laboratiore « Noise in Physical Systems » (NiPS Lab) du département de
Physique. Le Pr Gammaitoni a coordonné plusieurs projets européens sur la dynamique stochastique non linéaire
appliquée à la récupération d’énergie. Il coordonne actuellement un projet européen sur l’efficacité énergétique dans les
technologies de l’information et de la communication.

Pr James B. GROTBERG, University of Michigan (USA)
Dr. Grotberg is currently a Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Department of Surgery at the
University of Michigan. He is also the Director of the University of Michigan - NASA Bioscience and Engineering Institute.
He was an undergraduate at Cornell University in Biology, received his PhD in Fluid Mechanics at Johns Hopkins
University, and then an MD from the University of Chicago.
Dr. Grotberg’s research focuses on biofluid dynamics and biotransport, primarily in the respiratory system. These
include experimental and theoretical investigations of surfactant replacement therapy, aerosol delivery into the lung,
microgravity ventilation, airway closure and reopening, flow induced oscillations such as wheezing and its relation to
flow limitation, obstructive sleep apnea, liquid ventilation, high frequency ventilation, and implantable artificial lungs. In
addition with colleagues he has collaborated to develop “Lung-on-a-Chip” microfluidics technology for testing
pulmonary cells in controlled mechanical and chemical challenges. His work has been funded by NIH, NSF, NASA, NATO,
BSF (Israel-US), ANR (France), The Coulter Foundation, The Whitaker Foundation, and industry.
