A post-doctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of Minh Dang Nguyen at the
University of Calgary, Hotchkiss Brain institute to study the molecular and cellular mechanisms of
the cytoskeleton in brain diseases.
The laboratory is interested in defining the role of the cytoskeletal protein Ndel1 in the adult brain
using a newly generated mouse model. The candidate is expected to characterize this mouse model
at the molecular, cellular and physiological / behavioral levels. The candidate must have a Ph.D.
degree and strong background in Neurosciences. Additional requirements include animal breeding /
dissection skills, cell biology (microscopy, cell culture) and / or molecular biology (PCR, cloning) and
biochemistry (immunoprecipitations, pull downs, western blot) techniques. Excellent communication
skills in English, at least one publication in reputable scientific journal and team player spirit are also
required.
