OBJET
Le présent colloque se penche sur le droit à la libre circulation des citoyens. Une nouvelle directive 2004/38 du 29 avril 2004
relative au droit des citoyens de l’Union et des membres de leur famille de circuler et de séjourner librement sur le territoire des
États membres codifie la matière tout en procédant à des réformes. Il a paru utile d’analyser son contenu un an après son adoption
et un an avant sa transposition dans le droit des États membres. Le colloque tentera de préciser l’étendue et les limites des droits
reconnus aux citoyens et aux membres de leur famille et de confronter leur situation avec celle des étrangers ressortissants de
pays tiers.
OBJECT
The present colloquium will deal with the right to free movement of citizens. The new Directive 2004/38 of April 29, 2004, on the
right of citizens of the Union and their family members to move and reside freely within the territory of the Member States
codifies the matter and introduces some new elements. It seems useful to examine its provisions one year after its adoption and
one year before its transposition in the law of Member States. The colloquium aims at determining the extent and limits of the
rights recognized to citizens and their family members, and to confront them with the situation of foreigners from Third States.
