Australie, Qatar, Langkawi, Californie : quand les
coureurs disséminés de par le monde auront retrouvé
la route de notre belle Europe, Paris-Nice marquera
comme chaque année depuis plus de soixante-dix ans
le premier grand rendez-vous de la saison cycliste.
Particularité de la 65e édition de l’épreuve, elle contournera
le Massif Central par l’ouest. Ainsi, après le Grand Départ
des Hauts-de-Seine et le prologue classique et apprécié
d’Issy-les-Moulineaux, nous dirigerons-nous plein sud,
jusqu’à Limoges, halte traditionnelle du Tour de France
mais étape inédite sur Paris-Nice, avant d’amorcer une
transversale vers l’est, en direction de la Côte d’Azur.

more than seventy years, riders scattered around the
world make their way back to Europe for Paris-Nice, the
first big event of the cycling season. The particularity
of this 65th edition of the competition is that it will loop

dans l’Indre, dans le Cantal ou dans les Alpes de HauteProvence, où nous renouerons avec la belle tradition de
Manosque, qui fit les beaux jours de Paris-Nice jusqu’au
début des années soixante-dix. Toute occasion sera bonne
à saisir au long du parcours. Songez en effet que ces trois
dernières années quinze secondes au maximum ont séparé
le lauréat de son dauphin à l’issue des huit jours de course !

Le maire d’Issy-les-Moulineaux, André Santini, a eu l’honneur de donner le départ de la «Course au Soleil» pour la quatrième
fois en cinq ans. 01 Au cours de ce prologue de 4,8 km, le vainqueur sortant, Bobby Julich s’impose d’une petite seconde devant
Kashechkin. 02 Manifestement, Tom Boonen aime se parer de tuniques différentes. Vainqueur de la première étape avec
le maillot arc-en-ciel, 03 il s’impose le lendemain vêtu de jaune, 04 puis deux jours plus tard, le maillot vert sur les épaules. 05
Rien ni personne ne semble en mesure d’arrêter le Belge et son impressionnant appétit de victoires en ce début d’année.
Les premières pentes sérieuses de la saison produisent de nombreux dégâts, 06 deux hommes tirant leur épingle du jeu à l’arrivée
à Saint-Etienne : Vila Errandonea, qui signe dans la Loire sa première victoire chez les professionnels 07 et Landis, lequel revêt un
maillot de leader que nul ne s’avèrera en mesure de lui contester par la suite. Le lendemain, ni le col de la République, en début
de course, ni la manifestation estudiantine 08 ne peuvent empêcher Boonen de s’imposer à Rasteau. Sur la route de Digne-lesBains, empruntant le col du Corobin, c’est Rodriguez qui se montre le plus costaud. 09 A l’approche de la côte d’Azur, les coureurs
retrouvent la neige, mais aussi le soleil, 10 dans une étape typique de Paris-Nice, marquée par la bonne tenue des Français,
Chavanel, Casar, Vœckler et Moncoutié en tête, 11 devancés toutefois par un Kashechkin opportuniste dans le Tanneron. Zberg,
accrocheur dans les monts de l’arrière-pays niçois, se voit récompensé de sa ténacité sur la promenade des Anglais, enlevant au
sprint la dernière étape, devant ses compagnons d’échappée Petrov et Contador. 12

to win from him. The following day neither the col de la République, at the beginning of the race, nor a student demonstration 08 can prevent Boonen from triumphing in Rasteau. On the road to Digne-les-Bains, via the col du Corobin, Rodriguez holds solidly and triumphs. 09
As they approach the côte d’Azur, the riders are once again faced with snow, but also sun, 10 in a stage typical of Paris-Nice, marked by the strong efforts of the French riders, Chavanel, Casar, Vœckler and Moncoutié, in the lead, 11 but nevertheless attacked

Nice, is rewarded on the Promenade des Anglais: he outsprints his fellow breakaway riders Petrov and Contador and wins the final
