International fashion icon Diane Pernet is proud to
announce the 3rd Edition of A SHADED VIEW ON
FASHION FILM, the first annual film festival dedicated
to Fashion, Style and Beauty.
« A Shaded View On Fashion Film » shakes up the old rules
of fashion by putting the focus on the moving image, in
an industry long dominated by the “still” photographic
medium. Built around a program of short films in
competition made by today’s fashion protagonists,
— designers, stylists, photographers, artistic directors
— it also features installations, documentaries and
feature-length films where fashion plays a major role.
The three day festival includes a curated competition
of short-film featuring works by/with young talents
as well as established artists such as Glen Luchford,
Steven Klein, The Quay Brothers, Wing Shya, Johan
Renck, Stephan Blaise, Daniel Eskils, Miho Kinomura,
Rain Li, Cyril Guyot, Alex Prager, Marcelo Krasilcic,
Frod & Marcus, Tilda Swinton, Hannelore Knuts,
Bryce Dallas Howard...
This year’s jury includes : Olivier Saillard. Fashion
Historian and Director of the Musée Galliera, ASVOFF
3’s President of the Jury, Mike Figgis. celebrated
writer/director/composer/musician; (Leaving Las
Vegas and Timecode), Elisabeth Quin. Film critic and a
French government representative for Fashion, Michael
Nyman. Director and composer (The Piano and 12
Peter Greenaway films). Bryan Adams. Photographer
and musician, Dita Von Teese. Performer and style
icon, Fabrice Brovelli. TV production director, BETC
EuroRSCG, Paolo Roversi. Photographer, Emmanuelle
Castro. Film acquisitions and co-production director,
Wild Bunch, Daphne Bürki. Reporter for “Edition
Speciale”, Canal +, Nadja Romain. Independent
producer, Sara Maino. Senior fashion editor, Vogue
Italia, Zowie Broach. Designer of Boudicca, Abdel
Bounane. Publisher and Editor in Chief, Amusement
Magazine, Journalist for “La Matinale”, Canal+, Olivier

In addition to the IN competition films the 3 day event
includes Out of competition films (with/by Kenneth
Anger, Zoe Cassavets, Bruce Weber for YSL, Ryan
McGinley... ), a short-film retrospective of Mike
Figgis, a Carte Blanche to Elisabeth Quin (with the
participation of Olivier Saillard, in partnership with
Ina), documentaries (Eva & Adele, The Diesel New
Voices in collaboration with Dazed & Confused), a
professional conference moderated by Michel Mallard
(in partnership with Moving Image and Content), and
some live performances by Rosey Chan & Mike Figgis,
My Name is Claude and Sayoko Paris.
Since its premiere in September 2008 at the Jeu de
Paume National Gallery, the program of short films
has travelled to museums and institutions such as
the Guggenheim Bilbao, Cinema Rise X in Tokyo, the
Chelsea Arts Club in London, CPH DOX in Copenhagen,
Palazzo Morando in Milan, Scope Art Fair in NYC;
fashion events such as Alta Roma in Rome and many
others around the world - Seoul, Riga and Mexico
City to name just a few; and screenings at festivals
like Hyères, Festival 9 in Vienna, Dysfashional in
Luxembourg, the Arnhem Biennale and in October will
go to Tokyo, November the Barbican in London….

Edition de A SHADED VIEW ON FASHION FILM au
Centre Pompidou les 24, 25 et 26 septembre 2010,
le premier festival international de films dédié à la
mode, au style et à la beauté.
Les 3 jours de manifestation sont complétés par
des Films hors-competition (Kenneth Anger, Zoe
Cassavets, Bruce Weber for YSL... ), une rétrospective
des courts-métrages de Mike Figgis, une Carte
Blanche à Elisabeth Quin (avec la participation
d’Olivier Saillard, en partenariat avec l’Ina), des
documentaires (Eva & Adele, The Diesel New Voices

conférence professionnelle animée par Michel Mallard

BETC, 85-87 rue du Faubourg St-Martin, Paris
le secteur de la mode : stimulés par les moyens
de diffusion qu’offrent les nouveaux médias, les (Entrée libre)
professionnels de la mode recourent massivement au
medium du film pour mettre en scène leur univers. il
en découle un genre nouveau, le film de mode.
Le festival s’articulent donc autour d’une compétition
de courts-métrages produits par des designers,
photographes, directeurs artistiques ou stylistes,
qu’ils soient jeunes talents ou des personnalités plus
établies telles que : Glen Luchford, Steven Klein, Quay
