LES NOUVEAUX CRITÈRES DE SÉLECTION
Lors d’une réunion préliminaire au lancement des World Yachts Trophies 2013 le
jury qui, s’était déjà posé la question à l’issue de l’édition 2012, a fini par trancher
en modifiant le règlement et surtout en
simplifiant les catégories. D’une manière
générale nous avons écarté toute notion
de sport yacht, flying Bridge, production,
semi-custom et custom, ne conservant
que la différenciation au niveau des longueurs : de 15 à 24 m, de plus de 24 m à
50 m et enfin de plus de 50 m. Désormais
les open hard top et les flybridge font
cause commune notamment dans la catégorie des 15 à 24 mètres. Pour eux ainsi
que pour la catégorie des 24 à 50 mètres
nous avons rajouté le Trophée de la Décoration et de la Fonctionnalité. Les plus de
50 mètres s’affrontent autour de trois
thèmes : Meilleur Design Extérieur, Décoration et Innovation. Les candidats aux
WYT demeurent des unités d’au moins 50
pieds de long, quel que soit le matériau de
construction ou le mode de propulsion.
Ne sont pas acceptées les unités dont le
constructeur sera déclaré en cessation
d’activités jusqu’au moment de la clôture
des inscriptions, à savoir le 1er août 2013.
L’exploitation du chantier doit relever des
critères de base à l’éthique humaine communément admises dans le monde. Le
jury, chargé d’élire les candidats se compose des rédacteurs en chef et des journalistes spécialisés collaborant aux
magazines du groupe : Yachts France,
Yachts Russia, Yachts Emirates, Yachts
Lebanon, Yachts Qatar et Yachts Croatia.
Le vote final se déroulera au début du
Salon de Cannes.

THE NEW REGULATION
After the WYT 2012 celebration, the
commitee planned to modify the rules
and decided to simplify the categories
for the coming edition. As a general rule
we kept out of things the following categories : sportyachts, flybridge, production,
semi-custom
and
custom.
Classification is from now on length ;15m
up to 24m, 24m up to 50m and 50m+. In
the 15m to 24m category, Open hard top
and flybridge remain in the same cate-
gory. For these categories we added a
new Trophy for decoration and functionality. In the 50m+section, the yachts
are competing in three categories : Exterior and Interior Design, Decoration and
Innovation. The WYT candidates remain
50 feet long minimum yachts whatever
the building materials or the propulsion
system. The yachts built by a shipyard
which commercial activity has been closed before August 1st 2013 are not ac-
cepted. The shipyard working conditions
must be in respect with human ethic
rules applied the world over. The commitee in charge with the selection is composed of chief editors and specialised
journalists contributing to the magazines published by the group : Yachts
France, Yachts Russia, Yachts Emirates,
Yachts Lebanon, Yachts Qatar, Yachts
Croatia. The final vote will take place at
the begining of Cannes Boat Show.
