SANTE
Malte dispose d’un bon service de santé. Bien que gratuits pour les maltais, les actes médicaux sont payants
pour les expatriés,
et chers s’ils sont dispensés dans un établissement
privé. En cas de nécessité, il faut
savoir que dans la plupart des pharmacies de malte, une permanence médicale est assurée quotidiennement
par un médecin généraliste en soirée et aussi, pour certaines, en fin de matinée (sauf les samedis, dimanches
et jours fériés).
Les pharmacies sont nombreuses et de bonne qualité, mais il est cependant recommandé, en cas de
traitement spécifique, de se renseigner avant le départ .
Par prudence, mieux vaut, avant le départ, se munir de la carte de santé européenne délivrée, sur demande,
par la caisse de Sécurité Sociale et bien sûr de sa carte d’assitance internationale.
NOTA : 3 établissements hospitaliers de Malte sont agréés par l’Internationale Mutuelle Assistance
du MAEE : l’hôpital ST JAMES à SLIEMA, l’hôpital ST PHILIP à Sta Venera et, tout récemment, suite
à nos informations, le nouvel hôpital public MATER DEI .

A l'instar de tous les Etats européens, Malte applique l'heure d'été et retourne à l'heure initiale aux
mêmes dates que la France.

Il existe à Malte un marché immobilier locatif important, l’offre dépassant la demande, et, bien que
la presse hebdomadaire publie des offres de particuliers, un agent immobilier peut s’avérer très
précieux pour éviter toutes déconvenues, fréquentes dans ce domaine.

COMMERCES & POURBOIRES
Les centres commerciaux et les magasins sont normalement ouverts de 9:00 à 13:00 et de 16:00 à
19:00, sauf le dimanche et les jours fériés. Dans les zones touristiques, beaucoup de magasins
restent ouverts jusqu'à 10 heures du soir.
Le pourboire est coutumier à Malte et un pourboire de 5% à 10% est raisonnable lorsqu'un bon
service est fourni. Cependant si le service est déjà compris dans l'addition, un pourboire n'est pas
alors nécessaire.
COMMUNICATIONS TELEPHONIQUES
Les communication téléphoniques vers l’étranger peuvent s’avérer assez coûteuses, cependant il
faut savoir qu’en composant le 1021 + 00 + (indicatif pays) + N° de la personne à joindre, la
communication coûtera 6 à 7 fois moins cher pour un appel sur un fixe en France (0,04euros/mn),
2 fois moins cher pour un appel sur un portable, ( 0,23 euros/mn) Le tarif varie selon le pays
appelé.
RADIO/TELEVISION
Malte reçoit la télévision par le câble (TV5 Monde & France 24) mais il est tout à fait possible sur
place de s’abonner au satellite et d’acheter la parabole ainsi que le décodeur.
Les stations de radios françaises accessibles sont : France Inter, RMC, RFI, France Info (En ondes
courtes seulement, rien en FM)
COURANT ELECTRIQUE
Le courant électrique est monophasé, 240 volts/50 Hz, avec prises à trois plots de type britannique.

Prendre contact avec le Licencing Office de Malte pour définir la procédure d’importation du véhicule. Se
munir en partant de France de :
la feuille de route du déménageur pour le véhicule importé
du certificat d’immatriculation français
de son passeport et d’une photocopie de celui-ci.

les plaques d’immatriculation sont à payer à l’Etat maltais
certains assureurs locaux prennent en compte le bonus accumulé en France ; penser à se munir
d’une preuve du nombre d’années sans accident

Il est important de tenir compte que la conduite à Malte s’effectue à gauche et le
volant est à droite , les voitures dont le volant est à gauche ont des angles morts
dangereux pour la conduite locale.

IMPORTATION ANIMAUX DOMESTIQUES A MALTE
N'importe quel animal domestique importé à Malte doit avoir un permis d'importation émis
par le Directeur du Service vétérinaire avant l'importation. Il est généralement conseillé de
faire la demande 6 semaines avant l'importation pour permettre d'effectuer la vaccination
et autres obligations nécessaires avant l'importation.
Tous les animaux domestiques doivent avoir un certificat délivré par le Service vétérinaire
du gouvernement, attestant que le virus rabique ne se trouve pas dans le pays d'origine,
six mois avant le départ de l'animal domestique. Le certificat doit également attester que le
pays d'origine adopte une politique officielle en matière du strict contrôle de l'importation
des animaux. De plus, si un animal domestique vient d'un pays atteint du virus rabique, il
faut certifier qu'il n’en est pas atteint.
L'animal doit aussi avoir un certificat de santé vétérinaire émis par un vétérinaire accrédité
juste avant le voyage à Malte, indiquant qu'il est en bonne santé, qu'il ne fait preuve
d'aucun signe de maladie clinique ou d'infection parasitaire et qu'il a été vacciné contre la
rage pas moins de 30 jours et pas plus de six mois avant l'exportation. L'animal doit être
expédié à Malte directement du pays d'origine soit par avion soit en bateau, doit être mis
dans sa cage en toute sûreté en tant que cargo pour que cela apparaisse sur le manifeste
du cargo.
Le Service vétérinaire du Ministère de l'Alimentation, de l'Agriculture et de la pêche (Tél.:
2123 9968, 2122 5930) à Malte doit être avisé de la date exacte de l'arrivée de l'animal au
moins une semaine en avance et aussi si l'animal sera accompagné ou non.
L'importation d'animaux est uniquement permise pendant les horaires du bureau – 7:30
am à 5:00 pm. Les animaux ne seront pas acceptés les samedis, les dimanches ou pendant
les jours fériés.
Les animaux domestiques importés du Royaume uni sont mis en quarantaine à la section
de quarantaine des petits animaux, à Luqa pour trois semaines. Les animaux en
provenance d'autres pays, la période de la quarantaine peut se monter à 6 mois. Une
licence d'importation du département de Commerce et un formulaire d'entrée (Numéro 2)
du département des douanes doivent être complétés avant de relâcher l’animal de la
quarantaine.

At present, the following documents must be presented in order to have the pet animal released when it enters Malta
a) THE PET TRAVEL SCHEME CERTIFICATE.
This is issued by the Competent Veterinary Authorities of Malta or of a qualifying country, and indicates that a microchip number identifies the pet ani
that the pet animal has a current Rabies vaccination, and that it has been blood tested and resulted to have an adequate antibody titre against Rabies
certificate has a validity period, showing that six calendar months have elapsed from the date when the blood sample which give a successful result fo
sieroneutralization titre test was taken, and will remain valid for a specific period of time, expiring on the date when the Rabies booster vaccination is
required. Pet animals entering Malta without having met the six months requisite will have to be kept in quarantine for a determined period of time, wh
those which enter Malta with a certificate that has expired will also have to be kept in quarantine if the required booster vaccinations have not been gi
time.
N.B. For certificates issued in rabies free islands, some island authorities may issue certificates, which are valid for only one trip to Malta. The Compe
Veterinary Authorities in these islands will be able to give owners further advice.
For pet animals residing in Malta resident pets, the Pet Travel Scheme Certificate is issued by the Food and Veterinary Regulation Division in Alberto
Marsa, (contact person: Ms. Lucienne Cassar: Telephone number: 00356-21650393) and this is signed by the Director General of the mentioned Divi
by any other authorised Official Veterinarian.
For pet animals residing in other any qualifying country, an authorised Official Veterinarian from the Veterinary services in that country will issue the
Certificate.
b) CERTIFICATE SIGNED BY A VETERINARIAN TO CONFIRM THE TREATMENT AGAINST TICK
AND TAPEWORMS 24-48 HOURS BEFORE STARTING THE JOURNEY FOR MALTA.
Once the pet animal has been treated with praziquantel for tapeworm and with fiprinol for ticks, the Veterinarian who has carried out the treatment wil
the owner a certificate of treatment to verify that this has been done. The certificate must indicate the date and time when the treatment was carried o
must include the products used, the pet's microchip number, and other required details such as the pet's name, age, sex, species, breed, type of coat
well as the name of the owner. After the certificate has been filled in a completed manner, the Veterinarian must sign and stamp it.
c) THE DECLERATION OF RESIDENCE.
The owner must fill in a form to declare that his/her pet animal has not been outside the Pet Travel Scheme qualifying countries during the last six mo
prior to the pet animal's entry in Malta. Where flying to Malta from a Rabies-free island, this declaration may still be signed as long as the pet animals
left the confines of the airport during transit or stopover in a qualifying country. This form can be filled in when the pet animal is presented for checking
Pet animals entering Malta with a Pet Travel Scheme Certificate which have been outside the qualifying countries during the last six months prior to th
animal's entry in Malta will have to be quarantined for six months.
