On our quest to show you some of the best and most
On our quest to show you some of the best and most representative American wines at New
Street Grill, we would like to introduce to you,
Sine Qua Non, also known as SQN.
This winery is located in Ventura County, within the Central Coast AVA.
Their passion for the Rhône varietals made them famous and well received by the critics.
Victim of their success it’s now very hard to get hold of, especially in UK.
They are sourcing fruit from a wide variety of growers from year to year, and increasingly from
their own vineyards has caused the winery to never make exactly the same wine twice.
Manfred Krankl once said,
"People buy Sine Qua Non. They don’t seem to give a toot where it’s from"

penetrating a milieu where the greatest names began their existence as far back as the 18
century is testament to the character of this determined entrepreneur, and combines his
fundamental beliefs of terroir, technical mastery and the ability to share his knowledge with
others. This incredible journey has resulted in a brand of international renown that combines

The House of Krug illustrates the amazing adventure of a visionary, Joseph Krug,
a determined man with an uncompromising philosophy, who understood that the essence
of Champagne is pleasure itself.
He wanted to offer his clients the ultimate pleasure experience in Champagne every year,
regardless of the annual changes in climate
Krug is the only House to offer five Prestige Cuvees that are all different, while
all being of equal, undisputed quality and distinction.
Each Cuvee conveys a particular interpretation of excellence, offering an inimitable
experience the moment it is tasted, overwhelming the senses with exceptional pleasure.

Rimauresq takes its name from the Real Mauresque, the river that flows through the vineyards.
The domaine sits at the foot of the Massif des Maures mountain range, 20 minutes from Toulon.
With a unique microclimate, the estate benefits from both the cooling mistral winds and the shade
of the mountains above. This shade gives a longer ripening period in the crucial weeks prior to
harvest. Nine noble grape varieties are found at Rimauresq, including Cinsault, Mourvedre, and
Tibouren for the rosés.

Collection:
Made from Chenin Blanc, these are unconventional wines, and Craig Hawkins, the winemaker likes
to experiment quite a bit. Typically, long macerations on skin are involved, and Craig is a believer in
the importance of the lees for building the wine. El Bandito is made from grapes grown on the
Lammershoek farm, while Cortez comes from a farm called The Observatory, which some readers
will be familiar with because of Tom Lubbe’s wines from this property.

Collection:
Pierre Seillan first began working with Cabernet Franc and Merlot more than four decades ago at his
family's estate in Armagnac, and then later moved on to Château de Targé in the SaumurChampigny
AOC of the Loire Valley. Though Pierre enjoyed the Loire, Bordeaux beckoned, and he spent two
decades as technical director and winemaker for seven Bordeaux châteaux in Lalande de Pomerol,
SaintÉmilion, St. Estèphe, HautMédoc, Premières Côtes de Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur.
Pierre met Jess Jackson in the mid1990s and soon accepted his invitation to come to Sonoma County
to make worldclass wine. Inspired by the region's exceptional terroir, Pierre crafts Vérité’s wines as
pure Sonoma expressions of traditional Bordeaux varieties.

Located just 30 minutes drive south east of Adelaide and parallel to the coast, these rolling hillside
vineyards produce some of Australia`s finest Shiraz and Grenache based red wines. Some of the
areas historic old wineries were established in the late 1800s and many remain today. With a strong
regional identity on the international stage, the wines have a distinctive style and subtlely achieved
from a combination of very warm summers, mild winters and cooling sea breezes. Many of
Australia`s most famous and expensive wines have their vineyard origins within this region.

BORDEAUX
Collection:
The most famous Bordeaux wine property in Sauternes has long and interesting history
starting in the middle ages when d’ Yquem was owned by the King of England. In 1953,
Jacques Sauvage was awarded feudal tenure over Yquem. Shortly after taking over the
property, the Sauvage family built the present Chateau in Sauternes that we know today.
When Chateau D’ Yquem is first bottled, it shows a dark yellow or gold hue. With aging, the
color changes and begins getting darker. 40 year old Yquems could resemble caramel, while
bottles twice that age, could have the color of dark coffee. Something else to consider, when
Yquem is young, not more than 25 years after the vintage, the flavors will better resemble
honey, drenched tropical fruit. As the wine ages further, often those yellow tropical fruit
flavors fade and tasters experience flavors of caramel, burnt toast, spice and crème brûlée.
