Un peu d’histoire…
Durant la Première et Deuxième Guerre mondiale, les ambulanciers bénévoles d’American Field Service ont porté secours aux blessés sur les champs de bataille. En 1946, les ambulanciers ont décidé de mettre sur pied un réseau international d’échanges étudiant en vue de promouvoir une meilleure compréhension entre les peuples. Depuis, plus de 325 000 participants ont pris part à un programme AFS. A little history…
During WWI & WWII, volunteer ambulance drivers from the American
Field Service helped soldiers who were wounded on the battle field. In 1946, the drivers decided to create an international network of student exchanges with the goal of promoting a better understanding between people of different cultures. Since then, more than 325 000 participants have taken part in the AFS program. About AFS
AFS is an international, voluntary, non‐governmental, non‐profit organization that provides intercultural learning opportunities to help people develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to create a more just and peaceful world. Qui sommes‐nous?
AFS est une organisation internationale non gouvernementale, sans but lucratif, basée sur le bénévolat et offrant des occasions d’apprentissage interculturel par les programmes d’échanges internationaux dont le but est de promouvoir l’émergence d’un monde plus juste et plus pacifique.
AFS aujourd’hui c’est:
• Un organisme présent dans 80 pays
• Un réseau mondial de plus de 40 000 bénévoles
• 13 000 participants par année
• Programme de support complet et de gestion du risque
