Jessie Kuo) was born in Taipei, Taiwan. After graduating from the Department of English Literature and Linguistics, National Cheng Chi University, she continued to study in the Institute of Art Studies, National Central University, and received her MA in 2003. In 2007 she came to the Netherlands to pursue her PhD at the Institute for Cultural Disciplines in Leiden University (LUICD). Before coming to the Netherlands, Jessie worked as an art history author and has published two major books of The Secrets of Illustration (AS IF Books, Taipei: 2007) and Art in Diagrams (Easybooks, Taipei: 2005). She was also a lecturer of beginners’ art courses in the private institute of Art & Collection Group. During her study in LUICD, Jessie kept on writing art reviews for different publications in Taiwan, including the leading art magazine ARTCO Monthly and Art Collection + Design. Jessie also cooperated with other authors and has published Dutch Touch (Avantguard, Taipei: 2012) and Design Collection (National History Museum, Taipei: 2010). Two volumes of unbound pages plus 100 etchings of illustrations and 2 etchings for the frontispieces. The plates were executed between 1927 and 1930. Edition of 200 numbered copies with text; 85 copies hand-coloured by the artist and 100 in black-and-white; 15 copies of hors commerce. All copies signed by the artist in the colophon. Additional 100 numbered portfolios without text were signed by the artist. Bible, Paris: Tériade, 1956. Two volumes of unbound pages plus 105 etchings of illustrations and 2 etchings for the frontispieces. The plates were executed between 1931 and 1939. By 1939, 66 etchings were printed; the remaining 39 were reworked and printed between 1952 and 1956. Edition of 275 numbered copies, 20 copies of hors commerce. All copies signed by the artist.
