Innovant / Février 2016 / 11 D ossier du mois Klaus Dittrich, Chairman and CEO, Messe München bauma Open Innovation: New service for the sector In time for bauma 2016 Messe München is launching a new service for the sector: the “bauma Open Innovation” 12 / Février 2016 / Innovant online platform. bauma participants and other professionals interested in the sector can use this platform to solve their innovation-related challenges, by calling upon the expertise of Messe München’s entire cross-disciplinary network of contacts. The 31st edition of the World’s Leading Trade Fair for Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines, Mining Machines, Construction Vehicles and Construction Equipment takes place from April 11 to 17, 2016 at the Messe München exhibition center in Munich. On this platform, companies can engage in applications or technology “scouting”. For example, companies can seek out new industries or fields of application for their existing products and services, and/or find appropriate technological solutions to meet specific expertise of over two million visitors and more than 30,000 exhibitor contacts. If a company harnesses their knowledge, wishes and requirements early on in its innovations development, then development times and costs can be lowered. In terms of application scouting in particular the interdisciplinarity of this cross-industry network can help to identify new fields of application for products and services. Mareile Kaestner, Project Director, Messe München GmbH challenges they are facing. Seize the benefits The bauma Open Innovation Platform is not the first of its kind at Messe München. A similar concept has already bauma Open Innovation starts with pilot project Stefan Rummel, Managing Director, Messe München GmbH been implemented for the trade fair ISPO. The benefits of such an interdisciplinary “Open Innovation” method are obvious: Via the platform project organizers have virtual access to the combined TEI Rock Drills, a US supplier of drills and attachments, has developed the “DrillAll”. This drill is unique in terms of its positioning capabilities and is particularly well suited to drilling in spaces where access is limited. TEI would now like to open up new applications Wolf-Dietrich Müller, Executive Director of Capital Goods Shows, Messe München for this drill, which was originally developed for the US military. It is therefore turning to the cross-industry bauma Open Innovation Community to benefit from their expertise and ideas. Innovant / Février 2016 / 13 D ossier du mois New BBA Pumps products at bauma 2016 IFAT again fully booked The ongoing high level of demand from companies wishing to exhibit at IFAT 2016 is impressive confirmation of the high status of the sector’s No. 1 global innovations platform and trade fair for environmental technology. The event takes place between May 30 and June 3, 2016 at the MesseMünchen exhibition center. Waiting lists for the sections on water and recycling Stefan Rummel,Managing Director ofMesseMünchen GmbH,is very satisfied with developments so far and is optimistic “that we will again be able to welcome over 3,000 exhibitors in Munich. In some sections of the fair, we have waiting lists. We are very pleased about this further rise in interest, in particular from abroad.” 50 years of IFAT IFAT is a very impressive and long-running success story: It started out back in 1966, under the name of “International Trade Fair for Sewage Technology”, as a presentation platform for the industry. 147 exhibitors from nine countries and 7,650 visitors from 40 countries participated in that first 18,000 square-meter display. At that time the event was still relatively modest in scale. Over the years it has grown tremendously, in all sections—including in the recently added sections on water supply, recycling and technology for municipal services. 14 / Février 2016 / Innovant Christian Rocke, Exhibition Group Director IFAT, Messe München Silvia Fritscher, Exhibition Director IFAT, Messe München IFAT takes up all16 halls and parts of the outdoor exhibition area Venue”)which gives a first impression of the layout of the exhibition, both indoors and outdoors. The “Exhibitor Search” function provides detailed information on the exhibitors, their products and services. And there’s also a “Reminder List” for making a note of key information. For the coming event in 2016, IFAT will be taking up a total of 230,000 square meters of exhibition space. 115,000 square meters of this is dedicated to the section on water and sewage, and 115,000 square meters to recycling and municipal technologies. More than 135,000 visitors from all over the world are expected to attend the World’s Leading Trade Fair for Water, Sewage, Waste and Raw Materials Management. Exhibitor database online With this number of exhibitors and visitors, and such a large exhibition area, good planning and preparation is essential. An important tool in this is the directory of exhibitors at the show, available at http://www. ifat.de/ex hibitor- dire ctor y. html.T his also contains a site plan (under “Trade Fair IFAT worldwide IFAT has now expanded its reach beyond the worldleading event that sets standards every two years in Munich: It now has a global presence. This started with the creation of IE expo in China and IFAT India, and last year not one but two new events were added to this portfolio, with the successful premieres of IFAT Eurasia in Turkey and the IFAT Environmental Technology Forumin South Africa. 12uring the bauma international trade fair 2016 BBA Pumps will displaytherecently launched dewatering units. Innovant / Février 2016 / 15 D ossier du mois Keestrack presents new products and proven technology: on-board diesel drive is not diminished. Flexible, economical and highly mobile Keestrack is presenting a representative cross-section of its full product range at Bauma 2016 in the form of six crushing and screening units deployable in mobile processing technology for recycling applications and aggregate production (Open-Air Area North, Stand 817/2). This includes current versions of proven models as well as brand new plants by which the international manufacturer is showcasing even more innovative solutions, aiming to set new standards in the mobile sector. Kees Hoogendoorn has been at the head of the international Keestrack Group since 1988, which remains a family-owned enterprise. Redefining processing mobile A high level of mobility on-site and between deployments, considerable ease of operation and maintainability and superior cost-effectiveness have for many years been the guiding principles in cross16 / Février 2016 / Innovant technology development of mobile processing technology at Keestrack. Long and rugged crawler track units and statically optimised frames and superstructures facilitate rapid and simple positioning or implementation of the fundamentally supportfree operating crushing and screening unit. Especially in the medium output range between 250 and 300 t/h with frequently changing construction-site deployments, Keestrack plants lie primarily within transport weights and dimensions not requiring authorisation, guaranteeing operators good machine performance thanks to a high level of flexibility and low transport costs. All Keestrack machines are finished to a high degree (including powder lacquering) and the sophisticated inclusion of sensitive components, such as extensive steel casing for all hydraulic circuits. Daily maintenance, machine adjustment or troubleshooting are facilitated by easily accessible service points or specific pivoting/lifting devices on belts or transfer points. Modern, specially adapted Relytec-SPS systems control and monitor all operating functions reliably. Keestrack is now offering the option of GSM/UMTSsupported remote monitoring with GPS satellite positioning for all its machines, permitting real-time access to the machine data and functions. Keestrack’s own web portal enables the convenient management of machine and location data and the operational recording of operating sites (geofencing). Keestrack’s offering of economically efficient and environmentally friendly alternative drives are currently state of the art in the segment of track-mounted processing technology of up to 60 tonnes: Today, a total of 7 series of crushers, screeners and trackmounted stockpile conveyors have modern “ECO FS” diesel drives with efficient loadsensing hydraulic modules for power units and crusher functions. According to Keestrack, these generate potential fuel savings of approx. 30% over conventional drives. Currently 5 screening plants, 2 stockpile conveyors and 2 crushing plants are also available in a diesel-hybrid “ECO-EP” version with a diesel generator and electrical operating gear, or in an “ECO-EP+” version with an additional mains connection (“plug-in”). While the fuel savings of the ECO-EP package compared to conventional machines are approx. 53% (internal vs. ECO-FS: approx. 33%), the ECO-EP+ machines save up to 79% in all-electric operational mode compared to conventional diesel-fuelled machines (vs. ECO-FS: 70%). If the clearly lower maintenance costs compared to diesel drives are factored into this, the moderate additional costs of the ECO-EP drive packages will pay for themselves very rapidly – particularly as the flexibility of all plants as a result of which the potential Keestrack is now also taking the constant expansion of its model offering in mobile processing technology into consideration with a new model nomenclature, to be launched at Bauma 2016. Instead of the traditional model names, a transparent system of letters and numbers, referencing individual product families and suitable machine combinations within the Keestrack offering reflects their capacity. In that light, the code for track-mounted jaw crusher is now “S”, and the family of crushers are categorised by jaw crusher “B”, cone crusher “H” and impact crushers “R”. The designations of the mobile screening plants will switch to “C” for heavy-duty screening units and “C” for the Keestrack productionclassification units. Crushing in all performance levels Keestrack will be presenting proven mobile crushers at Munich as well as in particular further development and new high-end high-capacity large-scale models and the production of high-quality end-products. With transport weights of less than 30 tonnes, jaw crusher Keestrack B2 (former Argo) with a jaw width of 1000 mm and the crusher unit Keestrack R4 (former Destroyer 1011) with add-on screener and oversize material recycler again set industry standards in compact performance and/or high flexibility and efficiency Innovant / Février 2016 / 17 D ossier du mois with the most diverse of source materials. This also applies to the Keestrack R8 top crusher unit (former Destroyer 1313), that is presented at Munich as a highly productive mobile solution in the output range of 450 t/h. As is the case for all Keestrack crusher units, the heavy construction of the 1250 mm wide rotor of the R8 and its four impact bars (diameter: 1267 mm, weight: approx. 6100 kg) and a specifically larger crushing chamber for high crushing capacities at a very smooth operation and a long service life of the tools. The standard active double-deck prescreening with crusher bypass optimises the crushing result and minimises wear and tear. The machine with a doubledeck add-on screening unit and oversize-grain recirculating conveyor will also be presented in Munich. The optional equipment permits the production of three final grains via conventional removable screening media. Large-scale screening surfaces (each of which are 4500 x 1500 mm) and widely projecting stockpile conveyors help avoid frequently occurring bottlenecks of bolted-on screeners that are too small, leading to markedly declining production rates. As one of the few manufacturers in this performance segment, Keestrack is offering the approx. 70 tonne R8, with a hinged four-axle dolly for transporting the similarly compact large machine by trailer (transport width: 3.00 – 3.20 m; length 16.70 – 17.80 m; height: 3.67 m (including dolly: 4.00 m) in the 49.5 tonne basic version – with all the add-on options, including an overbelt magnet. Keestrack is announcing its new track-mounted cone crusher H4 (transport weight 35 - 50 t) as the first of its kind in the world. At the heart of the model designed for high-value secondary or tertiary production in the 120 - 200 t/h performance range is the proven cone crushing technology of a worldrenowned supply partner, with whom we are working closely to optimise our machines for deployment in mobile situations. According to Keestrack, a pioneering factor has been the advanced solutions in crusher control and monitoring systems, directly impacting output capacity and product quality. As the successor to the Galleon series, the Keestrack H4 was given a completely new frame design, enabling the incorporation of efficient pre and post-screening units but also the use of innovative drive technologies. For example, the Keestrack H4 is the world’s first mobile cone crusher with a highly efficient three-deck postscreening module with an deployed behind a crusher or for the processing of hot materials (slag, substances containing tar etc.). The transport weight of the Keestrack K8 is 45.4 tonnes (B x H during transport: 3.20 x 3.60 m) including the 12 m³ feed hopper, overband magnet (option) and two side belts. Rapid on-site set-up times make even shorter-term constructionsite deployments of the efficient large-scale machine worthwhile. oversize material recycler for the production of three highgrade end products in one pass. Keestrack is offering a choice of three economical drive combinations: Direct diesel drive of the crusher with electrical or electro-hydraulic peripherals (conveyors, screen units etc.) or the fully hybrid/”plug-in” version with similar electrical crusher drive via on-board diesel generator or mains power. Highly flexible screening technology The new Keestrack C8/K8 track-mounted large-scale screening unit with expansionshaft screening technology was first presented some months ago at Belgium’s Matexpo trade fair, and is now featuring for the first time at Bauma. The specially adapted BIVITEC technology from 18 / Février 2016 / Innovant Austrian development partner Binder + Co. guarantees in combination with the large screening surfaces of the double screening unit (2x 6000 x 1900 mm) and a very broad area of application in the economic recycling of various waste materials (glass, wood, slag etc.), the processing of materials difficult to screen that have high basic moisture levels, or in the production of large volumes of standard mineral products (up to 600 t/h). By providing different versions of the double screening unit – upper/lower deck: FlipFlow or upper deck: Circular vibratory screen, bottom deck: Flip-Flow – it is possible to process, for example minimum grain sizes of < 2 mm efficiently. If the linings in the upper-deck circular vibratory screen are changed, the unit can also be directly The comprehensive Keestrack range of track-mounted heavy-duty screening machines will be represented in Munich by the Keestrack K4 (former Novum). With a 4200 x 1500 mm double screen box, the compact machine offers one of the largest screening surfaces on the 30-tonne class and processes up to 200 t/h. As with all Keestrack machines, the K4 can be adapted to individual customer requirement, making it an economical solution for the sorting/ grading of recycling materials or the production of defined grain sizes at building sites or in extraction operations. The new mobile Keestrack D6 drum screen for organic application will also be presented for the first time at Bauma 2016. Therefore, a long service life which is typical for Hatz products is ensured for these unique power packages. “The weight and consumption values are lower than those of any other engine of this class. This could be achieved, among others, thanks to the iHACS technology (intelligent Hatz Advanced Combustion Strategy) with its sophisticated combustion chamber geometry, Bosch injection technology, minimised friction and a charge airpressure of 1.7 bar”, explains Christian Hatz, Managing Director Research &Developmentat Hatz. Even without diesel particulate filters, this unique technology also enables the engines to comply with the current exhaust emission standards and assures a performance at reduced noise and vibration levels. All advantages of the H series will be presented for the first time to interested visitors at Bauma during an engine live demonstration at the outdoor stand. Developed for EU stage V For more than 100 years, an optimal combustion strategy and sustainable development concept have enabled Hatz to produce particularly compact air- and water-cooled engines which are unequalled. Today, Motorenfabrik Hatz is the only manufacturer worldwide providing a complete Tier-4final certified engine range up to 19 kilowatts. “The future requirements of the EU standard stage V up to 19 kilowatts are exceeded. For a long time, these smallengines which are certified for the US market, have been sold in Europe without any legislative pressure in the European market”, emphasizesChristian Hatz. “Therefore, the European legislation is adjusted to our standards. This technology is especially characterized by the low center of gravity at a low discharge height and the fast, trouble-free and complete unloading. Particularly worth mentioning is the low center of gravity. Specifically, this means a low loading sill, a lower breaking effort needed before turns and thereby less wear and tear, lower fuel consumption and major time savings. solutions for civil engineering, mining and underground operations In civil engineering, mining and underground operations, companies are often quickly facing limitations: whether it is halls, bridges or tunnels that are too low – construction works can often not be carried out with standard dump trucks. And also in the demolition, earth moving and soil stabilization industry, special measures must be taken frequently. The Fliegl push-off trailer which especially distinguishes itself through its safety against tilting due to the low center of gravity is a solution. Whereas dump trucks tend to lose their balance while unloading, the push-off trailer still stands on safe tires. F or heavy-duty op erations, F l i e g l Bauund Kommunaltechnik GmbH developed the Fliegl “ASW Stone Offroad”. It is particularly suitable for earth moving operations or transports for major construction projects. The vehicle especially impresses through its efficiency: less wear and tear, very time-saving and less wage expenses and fuel consumption. For companies from the mining, civil engineering and underground operations sector which are reaching operating limits with their present transport technology, Fliegl Bau- und Kommunaltechnik developed the heavy cargo push-off construction Fliegl ASW Stone truck and Fliegl Stone Offroad. The latter is particularly suitable for the heavy-duty, internal use on large construction sites, 26 / Février 2016 / Innovant Fliegl Bauund Kommunaltechnik is a steady and reliable partner for transporting and unloading heavy goods. This has especially been proven by the numerous practical applications in the past in which the vehicles have stood the test thousands of times. such as airports, highway construction, in mining or raw material extraction. Both vehicles have proven successfully during operation in mines. Optimal excavation of natural resources requires sophisticated logistics with useful transportation vehicles such as the Fliegl ASW Stone truck and the Fliegl ASW Stone Offroad. In mines, the Fliegl push-off technology is especially characterized by its low center of gravity at a low discharge height so that unloading can be carried out fast, trouble-free and completely. But the ASW Stone truck and the Fliegl ASW Stone Offroad are also suitable for other operations: Whether it is road construction, preparation of spaces, levelling of areas or distribution of soil, the vehicles demonstrate their particular advantages in all these activities. Unlike dump trucks, the load is specifically dosed and evenly and quickly distributed over the total distance, thereby providing a consistent pave speed. The Fliegl ASW Stone Offroad is available with a volume of 15 to 40 m3. Examples include the use of the Fliegl fleet in the clay pits of the globally operating company Wienerberger which, among other things, is producing bricks. In the clay pits, the raw material for the products is loaded on the Fliegl ASW Stone Offroad truck and directly transported to the production site. Here, it becomes clear why the company is relying on Fliegl: Unloading with a conventional dump truck would not be possible in the low production buildings. Thanks to the Fliegl pushoff technology, raw materials can be pushed off the vehicle easily and especially residuefree. Since there is no need to dump, the ASW Stone truck is particularly suitable for the underground use. It transports the stowing material on the spot and unloads it instantly. Schneider from Üxheim-Ahütte in the Volcanic Eifel has acquired a Pipe Conveyor manufactured by BEUMER Group to transport clinker to its cement mill. The 200-metre-long conveying system is customised to fit perfectly into the local environment. Since the system is completely enclosed, no material can fall on the road or passing vehicles. Additionally, absolutely no dust is released into the air, which greatly benefits the environment, which greatly benefits the environment. Furthermore, the conveyor is economical in operation, energy-efficient and maintenance-friendly. A round 380 million years ago, huge limestone reserves accumulated in the lime dell of Hillesheim in the Volcanic Eifel region of Germany. Numerous dolomite formations and several basalt and lava cones demonstrate the geological diversity of the area. At the heart of the region lies the small parish of ÜxheimAhütte. Portlandzementwerk Wotan H. Schneider KG, informally known as Wotan Zement, has had its plant on the outskirts of the village with 180 inhabitants since 1923. The family-owned enterprise has 70 employees and produces nine cement types. According to technical director Gerd Morenhoven, these include Portland cement, Portland limestone cement, Portland pozzolana cement, blast-furnace cement and Portland slag cement. These are bagged or filled into silo trucks and transported to construction sites, ready-mix plants, concrete component manufacturers and building material traders. 28 / Février 2016 / Innovant course of the access road and not lose any material during transport, even on uphill and downhill slopes. Comprehensive expertise, optimum support The enterprise mines the necessary raw materials (limestone and marl) in the Üxheim, Nohn, Berndorf and Kerpen quarries that all lie closely together in the lime dell of Hillesheim. For the manufacturing of cement clinker, limestone and marl are crushed and homogenised with additional raw materials. In raw mills, the materials are ground to the necessary grain size and dried. The resulting raw meal is then homogenised and temporarily stored in large silos. To obtain cement clinker, a coarse intermediate product, the raw meal is first transported into the cyclone preheater. There it is preheated and deacidified at temperatures of over 950 degrees Celsius. The material then moves into the rotary kiln where it is burned at temperatures of around 1,450 degrees Celsius. «Due to increased demand for Portland cement we currently need to buy additional cement clinker. It is delivered in trucks to a specially built clinker receiving station», explains the technical director. The cement manufacturer needed an efficient solution for transporting the arriving material to the processing site. «We were looking for an eco-friendly and lowmaintenance solution», specifies Gerd Morenhoven. The new conveyor had to be optimally adapted to the existing premises; for example, it had to follow the For the building material manufacturer, BEUMER Group was their first choice to supply optimal conveying equipment. The provider of conveying solutions has been well-established in the building industry for nearly 80 years. BEUMER has bundled its comprehensive expertise in the industry and established different Centers of Competence to offer optimal support to building material manufacturers by providing single-source solutions. The Pipe Conveyor segment is one of BEUMER’s Centers of Competence, which are in charge of worldwide project management and sales. This specific project was carried out in close «Together with the management team in ÜxheimAhütte, we developed a solution that is tailored exactly to match the customer’s requirements», says Josef Amon, project manager at BEUMER Group Austria GmbH who was responsible for the project. It became apparent that a Pipe Conveyor was the best solution offering environmental protection and low maintenance. Wotan Zement already has a Pipe Conveyor and the system has stood the test of time. «Its closed design reliably protects the environment from dust and people or vehicles from falling goods», explains Josef Amon. The conveyors also offer many other advantages. They are able to navigate long distances and tight vertical and horizontal curve radii. The ability to negotiate sharp curves means that far fewer transfer towers are needed in comparison with other belt conveyors — or, depending on conveying length and curve radii, even none at all. Thanks to this, the customer can significantly reduce costs and BEUMER can more easily adapt the system to specific requirements. BEUMER Group supplied and installed a system with a pipe diameter of 200 millimetres and a length of 213 metres. It conveys up to 200 tons of material per hour. Innovant / Février 2016 / 29 D ossier du mois MTG will participate on Bauma Munich, introducing its latest innovations for mining and construction machinery The Spanish company will present its expanded StarMet Rope Shovels product range, as well as its full bucket solution for mining and construction machinery M Another system advantage is the reduced noise emission of the Pipe Conveyor. Special idlers, low-noise bearings and electric motors work very quietly. «This makes for a more pleasant working environment for our employees. Besides, the people in the vicinity are not disturbed by the noise. It is an important aspect, since the plant is located on the outskirts», notes Gerd Morenhoven. Smooth performance from start to finish Besides the supply and installation of the Pipe Conveyor, BEUMER also took care of all the necessary solutions for ensuring flawless operation. Among other things, BEUMER equipped the conveying system with a magnetic separator. 30 / Février 2016 / Innovant The route of the Pipe Conveyor now runs along the access road, crosses a weigh-bridge, then reaches a two-way chute. There, clinker is either transported to the mill via an existing reversible belt conveyor or taken to the existing clinker store. Constructive solutions BEUMER Group was in charge of the entire process. BEUMER Austria took over the project implementation: its employees created the basic design and included all the systems supplied by the customer, delivered the components and commissioned the Pipe Conveyor. BEUMER Czech Republic a.s. took care of the detailed engineering, the steel structure and the installation. «We designed the frames so that they could support the pipeline for pneumatic cement transport supplied by the customer», explains Josef Amon. This pneumatic pipeline was part of another project. The simultaneous use of the Pipe Conveyor frames as a pipeline bridge allowed for substantial cost savings in the other project. «The challenge was to do without additional supporting structures», says Josef Amon. Furthermore, the engineers integrated the Pipe Conveyor into the existing plant structure. «However, because the system was quite old, there was very little documentation left», he reminisces. That challenge, too, was successfully mastered by BEUMER, as Pipe Conveyors are quite easy to integrate into existing plants. The complete project implementation lasted around ten months. Since February 2015 the system has been operating successfully. «We are very pleased», says the technical director, Gerd Morenhoven. «The transport from the clinker receiving station to the clinker store or the mill is performed quietly, quickly and without material loss». TG will be present at Bauma Munich, to be held in the German city on April 11th – 17th, introducing its latest innovations in wear parts for a complete protection of buckets: the renewed StarMet Rope Shovels product range for electrical rope shovels, as well as new designs for teeth, adapters and locking systems for mining and construction machinery, most notably the new range of ProMet side and blade shrouds. The ProMet system for construction machinery includes the new range of ProMet wing and blade shrouds, as well as more common weldable and bolton shrouds of the MTG Plus range. They have all been specifically designed to ensure increased wear life and improved bucket performance in 30 to 85 ton. excavator and loader buckets. The main advantages of this system include: • Offering a wide range of reversible wing shrouds that allow for changing the position to achieve the complete wear of the part, this increasing its wear life. • Avoids exposure by the bucket’ sides to impacts and abrasions, increasing its wear life. • Complete range for wing widths of between 30 and 60mm. • MTGtwist hammerless system. • Wear material index above 70%. • Its sharp, light design increases bucket penetration, improving machine productivity. For the mining machinery, MTG is also presenting a new range of wing and blade shrouds, which offer increased bucket protection and ensure improved performance for large machinery: excavators (100-350 tons) and loaders (95250 tons). Also, MTG will exhibit its expanded StarMet Rope Shovels product range; a complete GET solution for electrical rope shovels, available in different configurations. This system will be displayed through a real-size display featuring the new hammerless locking system as well as a wider range of available teeth: RSS and RSXX models. These two new designs are ideal for tough and extremely abrasive applications, and are already available to equip the main rope shovel models on the market. For communication purposes, the company will show a video detailing the production process at its factory in Monzón, will introduce the new edition of the MTG 2016 catalogue and will offer the possibility of trying the application for IOS MTG Pro, the only app in the world for wear parts for mining and construction machinery. Towards the end of 2016, MTG is planning to present its MTG Systems TwinMet 3 parts system for hydraulic excavators and draglines weighing over 350t. But a MLSS concentration as high as possible opposes the capacity of a SST, which depends amongst others on the treatable mixed water inflow. Here the software hydrograv proload.sms applies, which continuously informs the operating staff if there is a risk, that at the next storm water runoff the performance limits of the secondary clarification are met or even exceeded. By continuous online CFD simulations, this system is capable to securely predict the maximum hydraulic capacity under the current conditions. Thereby the staff will be informed regarding the combination of maximum TS and maximum hydraulic capacity at a given SVI and is supported by this early warning system in operating its plant safely even in times of high inflows. The system runs on a highperformance simulation computer connected to the process control system. Thus it always analyzes the current load data of the plant. On the basis of the CFD simulation hydrograv proload.cfd – developed by hydrograv and well-proven – hydrograv proload.sms is able to calculate the current capacity of the SST at the given hydraulic and loading conditions (Q in, MLSS, SVI, temperature) and also able to predict it for future loading cases. The calculated values are displayed as charts, diagrams and tables. By setting warning limits the operator will be informed sufficiently early of predicted critical situations. Alerts for mobile phone are also possible. This system is complemented by the analysis module TSA131, with which the minimum required MLSS to secure nitrification is continuously calculated. Thereby the operator of the plant will now be provided continuously automated with all necessary information, which enable an optimum operation in the conflicting field of the required and allowable MLSS in the activated sludge process and may also serve as a qualified basis for sewer management. The C in C-REX stands for construction, which is the market segment the new system has been designed for. The system has been developed for excavators weighing 12-45 tonnes and wheel loaders weighing 12-55 tonnes. C-Rex 1 Trade Fair in April. When we set out to create a new system we had four basic criteria: improved overall economy, user friendliness, functional reliability and a climate-smart solution. I am convinced that we met our targets,” explains Niclas Wechselberger, Technology and Development manager at Combi Wear Parts. Animation C-Rex 3 Sacha de Bilderling et Niclas Wechselberger “Even though the Combi parts system is also aimed for the construction segment, there is a lot of difference between CREX and Combi parts. When we designed C-REX we kept the best features from Combi parts but we made some big improvements as well. For example, we have developed a unique mechanical lock that makes mounting and dismounting teeth so much easier. The lock is hammerless and has just one loose part, the locking pin, that can be 42 / Février 2016 / Innovant Animation C-Rex 4 re-used throughout the life of the system,” says Sacha de Bilderling, sales manager at Combi Wear Parts. C-REX was specially designed with the focus on user friendliness and overall economy. The teeth are longer and have been designed with a larger portion of wear material compared with the Combi parts system that was well known for good performance. The new C-REX adapters are also less sensitive to wear which means users will get longer operation time from the adapter, thus saving costs for both production and maintenance. “We have been analysing, designing and testing different concepts for a new wear parts system over some time, so it will be fantastic to launch C-REX at the Bauma “All production of C-REX, as with ProClaws and Combi parts, takes place at our foundry in Ljungby, Sweden. In 2012-2013 Combi Wear Parts invested in a new production line for heavy goods and we now have all production under the same roof. Which leads to, full control over the complete process chain, which means we can raise the quality level even higher and reduce our environmental impact. It is important now when we see the global warming as a serious challenge. At Combi Wear Parts we are doing everything we can to make our production as effective and climate smart as possible,” continues Niclas Wechselberger. Sweden has some of the world’s strictest environmental laws in terms of both internal and external environment. Combi C-Rex 2 C-Rex 3 Wear Parts meets all current national and international environmental requirements, and we are well prepared to meet future requirements. So why is the new system called C-REX? Niclas Wechselberger explains: «The C stands for construction. REX is a direct link to the dinosaur-era giant Tyrannosaurus Rex, T-Rex, who had unequalled strength, extreme power and a razorsharp bite, just like the CREX. And since rex means king in Latin we have taken the liberty to appoint C-REX as the King of Wear Parts. We bid everyone a warm welcome to the Bauma Trade Fair and to our stand no. 313 in hall A6 where we will be holding our world premiere of C-REX,” concludes Sacha de Bilderling. In addition to these, Kögel also has factories and premises in Neu-Ulm (Germany), Duingen (Germany), Chocen (Czech Republic) and Moscow (Russia). T he camera system is an efficient solution to ensure construction site security. Apart from its simple installation it stands out for its reliable surveillance. This is mainly due to the intelligent software, which ensures that undesirable persons or vehicles can be recognised and a silent alarm can be triggered automatically. To avoid false alarms, a control station which is staffed around the clock – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, verifies every alarm. The expert audience also will be presented with a solar powered version of the mobile video surveillance. The camera tower is equipped with high-performance solar panels on three sides. During the day the system’s batteries are being charged so that comprehensive and reliable surveillance can be guaranteed during the night. In addition to self-sufficient and environmentally friendly power generation (because CO2-neutral) the solar BauWatch also ensures independence as no wires are needed for energy generation. As a result, the system can be used without any problems in remote areas with no power sources. “This is an advantage especially on extensive construction sites where it is difficult to ensure suitable energy supply,” says Benno Blömen, Managing Director Maibach Velen. Fassi «IOC» system allows some functions such as: • Instantaneous localization of crane and its status (active/ inactive) • Real-rime diagnostics • Analysis of crane reliability • Predictive maintenance • Analysis of crane use • Monitoring of the residual life • Software updating This is an innovation allowing an improvement and an enrichment of the crane use experience with some web applications making the relationship between users and Fassi cranes by far deeper, more immediate and more intuitive.
