DUTIES
Reporting to the Vice-President, Medical Affairs, and the Medical Director, Human Tissues, the Biological
Risk Management Specialist takes part in monitoring, analyzing and managing data and risks, in particular
the biological risks inherent in the products and services offered by Héma-Québec.
More specifically, this individual will:

Monitor internal and external information concerning biological risks;

Design and conduct studies and analyzes of an epidemiological nature intended to better identify and
understand the issues of risk management and efficiency within the organization;

Take part in internal and external committees that pertain to biological risk monitoring and management
activities;

Ensure the internal and external dissemination of the results and conclusions of studies and analyses, in
the form of presentations and scientific publications.

Monitor the updating and maintenance of consolidated databases in cooperation with the IT department;

Contribute to providing methodological support in the company when projects entail an epidemiological or
statistics component;

Take part in preparing various reports required by the Medical Affairs Department.
QUALIFICATIONS
You have first and/or second cycle university training in a field related to health, a doctoral degree in
epidemiology or statistics as well as at least one year of post-doctoral experience in a field related to
health. A candidate with a graduate degree and solid work experience in a pertinent field may also be
considered for this position. You must also have at least five years of experience in the management and
analysis of data. Experience in the field of transfusion medicine is a major asset.
You are known for your scientific rigour and autonomy and have good analytical and summarizing abilities.
You are an excellent communicator and are skilled at establishing and maintaining partnerships. You have
a solid background in programming using SAS and you are comfortable with the main tools of the
Microsoft Office suite. Finally, you have an excellent knowledge of French and English, both written and
oral.

FONCTIONS
Relevant du vice-président aux affaires médicales et directeur médical aux tissus humains, le spécialiste
en gestion des risques biologiques participe à la vigie, à l’analyse et à la gestion des données et des
risques, en particulier les risques de nature biologique qui sont inhérents aux produits et services offerts
par Héma-Québec.
Plus particulièrement, le titulaire :

Assure la vigie des données internes et externes concernant les risques biologiques;

Conçoit et réalise des études et analyses de nature épidémiologique visant à mieux cerner et comprendre
les enjeux de gestion des risques et de l’efficience dans l’organisation;

Participe aux comités internes et externes qui sont pertinents aux activités de vigie et de gestion des
risques biologiques;

Fait la dissémination interne et externe des résultats et des conclusions tirées des études et analyses,
sous forme de présentations et de publications scientifiques;

Veille à la mise à niveau et au maintien de bases de données consolidées en collaboration avec le service
informatique;

Contribue à fournir un soutien méthodologique dans l’entreprise lorsque des projets comportent un volet
épidémiologique ou statistique;

Participe à la préparation des différents rapports requis pour la vice-présidence aux affaires médicales.
QUALIFICATIONS
Vous détenez une formation universitaire de premier et/ou deuxième cycle dans un domaine relié à la
santé, un diplôme universitaire de troisième cycle en épidémiologie ou en statistiques ainsi qu’une
expérience postdoctorale d’au moins une année dans un domaine lié à la santé. Un candidat ayant un
diplôme de deuxième cycle ainsi qu’une solide expérience de travail dans un domaine pertinent pourrait
être considéré pour ce poste. Vous devez également posséder une expérience minimale de 5 ans dans la
gestion et l’analyse de données. Une expérience dans le domaine de la médecine transfusionnelle
représente un atout important.
Vous êtes reconnu pour votre rigueur scientifique, votre autonomie et faites preuve d’un bon esprit
d’analyse et de synthèse. Vous êtes un excellent communicateur et avez de la facilité à établir et
maintenir des collaborations. Vous avez une solide expertise en programmation avec le logiciel SAS et
vous êtes à l’aise avec les principaux outils de la suite Microsoft Office. Finalement, vous avez une
excellente maîtrise du français et de l’anglais, autant à l’oral qu’à l’écrit.
