In a format designed to guarantee a lively debate, an entire day will be dedicated to interactive workshops moderated by experienced practitioners of the younger generation. In addition to these workshops, there will be substantial presentations on some of the hot topics in today’s arbitration world. All presentations and workshops will be tailored to the practical needs of arbitration users. This seminar will be a good occasion to learn from top-level practitioners and academics from all over the world and exchange and discuss views on international arbitration. The venue will be Zurich, a city that many say has the highest quality of life in the world, in the heart of Switzerland, one of the leading countries for international arbitrations. The seminar is a must for all lawyers and in-house counsels interested and involved in international arbitration and those who wish to be better prepared for future disputes. It will also be a good opportunity for young arbitration practitioners to establish and develop relationships with colleagues from other firms and countries. The three-day seminar program will cover all major aspects of international arbitration including pros and cons of arbitration compared to State court proceedings, basic features of institutional arbitration rules, Swiss Rules and ICC Rules in practice, drafting arbitration clauses, initiating arbitration proceedings, efficiency in proceedings, interim measures, presenting and examining witnesses, enforceability, relevance of the place of arbitration, and future developments in arbitration. Participants will have the choice between a number of workshops. Finally, special breakfast meetings on Saturday morning will be dedicated to the topics of mediation and women in arbitration. Last but not least, the social program will, of course, live up to the highest expectations, and we will invite you to our homes for AIJA’s speciality - the home hospitality.
