FROM YOUR KTT-4 TOOL
When using this tool, follow the steps in the
directions. Do not try to overpower the lock by
using a fast turning motion, this will cause the
tool to break. Use a slow turning motion then
back off the pressure, then apply the pressure
again. Repeating this step will cause the
wafers inside the cylinder to bend and allow
the plug to be turned. Do not allow the KTT-4
to be pushed sideways while turning. This will
snap the blade.
When opening key- in- knob locks, make sure
you turn counter clock wise to open. If you turn
clock wise and go too far you run the risk of
snapping the lock spindle, the lock will not be
able to be opened in the conventional manner.

KTT– 4 KWIK TORQUE TOOL (CYLINDRE DE POIGNÉE)
The KTT-4 tool will only work on Kwikset ® locks that have the Smart Key TM
capability. Smart Key TM can be identified by the small slot for the change tool
located to the lower left of the keyway as shown above.
THIS TOOL WILL NOT WORK ON STANDARD PIN TUMBLER CYLINDERS.
To use, simply insert the blade of the KTT-4 tool into the keyway until it stops
on the bottom shoulder.

With the KTT-4 tool fully inserted into the keyway, slowly turn the tool counter
clockwise. Turn counter clockwise to unlock regardless if the lock is right side
up or upside down.) Apply turning pressure then back off. Reapply pressure and
back off again. Continue this procedure and you will see the cylinder start to
turn more each time until it opens. (DO NOT TURN PAST 90 DEGREES, THIS
WILL BREAK THE LOCK SPINDLE. IF YOU TURN THE WRONG WAY AND
BREAK THE LOCK SPINDLE YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO UNLOCK THE KNOB
WITH THIS TOOL. NOTE: STAND AND TURN TOOL FROM RIGHT IN FRONT OF
LOCK AND DO NOT ADD FORCE SIDEWAYS, THIS WILL SNAP THE TOOL
BLADE .
The cylinder is turned and now unlocked. Turn the KTT tool back and remove
and turn knob to open. The original keys should work in most cases, but the
changeability of the lock will be destroyed. For reliability the complete lock or
cylinder unit should be replaced.

Lors de l’utilisation, suivez les étapes décrites
dans les instruction. Ne tentez pas de forcer la
serrure en utilisant un mouvement rapide et brusque, ceci risquerai de briser l’outil. Utilisez un
mouvement lent, relachez la pression, puis appliquez de nouveau la pression. La répétition de cette
étape pliera les gorges dans la serrure et permettra
de tourner le cylindre. N’appliquez pas de tension
latérale sur le KTT-4 en tournant, cela pourrait
casser la lame.
Lors de l’ouverture de cylindre de poignée, assurezvous de tourner dans le sens anti-horaire. Si vous
tourner dans le sens horaire et allez trop loin, vous
courrez le risque de briser la tige de la serrure,
empechant la serrure d’être ouverte de facon
conventionnelle

importe si la serrure est a l’endroit ou a l’envers. Appliquez de la pression puis relachez.
Répeter l’opération et vous verrez le cylindre tourner un peu plus a chaque fois
jusqu’à ce qu’il ouvre.(NE DÉPASSEZ PAS LES 90 DEGRÉS, CELA BRISERA LA TIGE
DE LA SERRURE. SI VOUS TOURNEZ DANS LA MAUVAISE DIRECTION, OU BRISEZ
LA TIGE, VOUS NE POURREZ PLUS DEBARRER LA POIGNÉE AVEC CET OUTIL.
NOTE: TENEZ VOUS DEVANS LA POIGNÉE LORS DE L’UTILISATION. SI VOUS FORCEZ
DE COTÉ, VOUS RISQUEZ DE CASSER LA LAME DE L’OUTIL.)
Le cylindre est tourné et maintenant débarré. Remettez le KTT-4 dans sa position
originale avant de le retirer et tournez la poignée pour l’ouvrir. La clé originale
fonctionnera encore dans la plupart des cas, mais la changeablilité de la serrure
sera détruite. Pour plus de sécurité, la serrure complète ou le cylindre devrait etre
changés
