Scientific Integrity—BIOC 796 A team taught course to graduate students and post-doctorates that is a survey of contemporary issues relating to responsible conduct in research including academic integrity, mentoring, scientific record keeping, and genetic technology. I teach a lecture about the use of animals in Kimberly A. Vonnahme, PhD October 17, 2015 research and the policies of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee. It has been taught in the Fall 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011 semesters. 2. Quality of teaching (administration and peer evaluation) 2011: Participated in the [cla]ssroom academy 101: introduction to performance talks by Marc Chun; 2 day workshop; NDSU campus. 2007: Participated in the 2007 Peer Review of Teaching Program. Dr. Edward Deckard was my mentor. 3. Curriculum Development 1) Use of Interactive Video Network (IVN) and distance teaching to Dickinson State University (2004-present) 2) I participated in the CAFSNR Distance Ed Committee (2004-2010) 3) I updated, and continue to improve, the Physiology of Reproduction (ANSC 463/663) course 4) I initiated Research in Reproduction course in 2005, an independent course that allows students to get a hands-on look at research in the field of reproductive biology. In 2015, the Department of Animal Sciences will have a formal Research course for faculty that are interested in participating. I will continue to do so. 5) I updated Reproductive Management (ANSC 464) in 2005. I used this class as a “capstone” course, developing a course where students worked with local livestock producers to address reproductive management questions/concerns. In 2010, the last class was taught as production courses moved from 2 to 3 credits. If applicable, reproductive management was incorporated into those courses. 4.
