Public Hearing – Fixing of the Special Levy Rate – Business Improvement Area
Motion:
That formal approval of the Downtown Moncton Centre-ville Inc. proposed operating budget for the year
2016, in the amount of $756,000.00 be granted;
That given no formal objections were received to the proposed budget when published, that the Special
Levy Rate for 2016 be established at 0.16/$100.00 of Assessment based upon projected data – 2016
Assessments;
That City Council give first reading to the Special Levy By-law being By-law #A-1002.15 – a By-law in
Amendment of a by-law relating to the approval of the budget for Downtown Moncton Centreville Inc. and
to establish a Special Business Improvement Area Levy in the City of Moncton as reflected on the agenda
as item 10.1.

Motion :
Que le budget d’exploitation proposé pour Downtown Moncton Centre-ville Inc. pour l’année 2016, d’un
montant de 756 000 $, soit officiellement approuvé.
Étant donné qu’aucune objection officielle au budget proposé n’a été reçue au moment de sa présentation,
que le taux de prélèvement spécial pour l’année 2016 soit fixé à 0,16 $ par tranche de 100 $ de la valeur
d’évaluation, d’après les données prévisionnelles des évaluations de 2016.
Que le Conseil municipal procède à la première lecture de l’arrêté sur le prélèvement spécial, à savoir
l’Arrêté A-1002.15, arrêté portant modification de l’arrêté concernant l’approbation du budget de
Downtown Moncton Centre-ville Inc. et visant à établir un prélèvement spécial pour la zone d’amélioration
des affaires de la ville de Moncton, comme il est indiqué au point 10.1 de l’ordre du jour.

and west Main Street Culverts be awarded to the Proponent having received the highest total score,
being Crandall Engineering Ltd. for the total proposed price of $230,068.00, plus H.S.T. @ 13%.

2. It is also recommended that a Professional Engineering Services agreement be drafted, and that the

remplacement des ponceaux de la rue Main Ouest soit attribuée au soumissionnaire ayant obtenu le plus
grand nombre de points, soit Crandall Engineering Ltd., au prix total soumissionné de 230 068,00 $,
TVH de 13 % en sus.
2. Il est également recommandé qu’un contrat de services d’ingénierie soit rédigé et que le maire et la
greffière municipale soient autorisés à y apposer leur signature et le sceau de la Ville de Moncton.

disbursements.

phases be drafted, and the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign said agreement and affix the
Corporate Seal of the City of Moncton thereto.

WHEREASpursuant to Section 14 of the Police Act, S.N.B., Chap. P-9.2, Council is authorized to appoint
By-Law Enforcement Officers; and
WHEREAS Council has approved the use of the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires to enforce its ByLaws;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Louis Vautour be hereby appointed By-Law
Enforcement Officer for the City of Moncton, and is hereby authorized to enforce all of the municipality’s
by-laws and to take such action or issue such tickets as may deem to be necessary to enforce any provisions
of any such by-laws.
