INTRODUCTION
INTRODUCTION
EINFÜHRUNG
UEAPME, which is the horizontal,
Craft, trades and SME employers
federation, at European level, also
represents a growing number of
European SME-focused sectoral
associations. These organisations
are associate UEAPME members
which gives them the right to
participate as equal partners in all
meetings and committees. With
their sector-specific knowledge,
they are able to offer valuable
advice to UEAPME’s work.
UEAPME, connue principalement
comme la fédération horizontale
européenne des PME, représente
aussi un nombre considérable
d’associations sectorielles
européennes de PME. Ces
organisations sont des membres
associés de l’UEAPME, ce qui leur
donne le droit de participer
comme partenaires égaux dans
tous les comités et réunions. Avec
leurs connaissances spécifiques du
secteur, elles sont aptes à offrir
une valeur ajoutée importante au
travail de l’UEAPME.
Die UEAPME ist zwar als der
europäische Handwerks- und
Mittelstandsverband bekannt, sie
vertritt je doch eine bedeutende
Zahl von europäischen KMU Fachverbänden. Diese sind
assoziierte UEAPME – Mitglieder,
was ihnen gestattet, sich als
gleichberechtigte Partner an allen
Sitzungen und Ausschüssen zu
beteiligen. Mit ihrem großen
Fachwissen leisten sie der Arbeit
der UEAPME wertvolle
Unterstützung.
Some of these sectoral associations are permanently represented
in Brussels. Others have their
head office in one of Belgium’s
neighbouring countries. Through
their national members, they
cover, in many cases, all EU
Members States and beyond, thus,
representing many thousands of
small and medium-sized companies across Europe. They possess
substantial experience in such
fields as the sectoral social dialogue, training and qualification,
standardisation as well as all practical matters related to their trade
or profession.
Certaines de ces associations
sectorielles sont en permanence
représentées à Bruxelles. D’autres
ont leur bureau dans un des pays
voisins de la Belgique. A travers
leurs membres nationaux, beaucoup
couvrent tous les Etats Membres de
l’UE et d’autres pays, ainsi
représentant des milliers de petites
et moyennes entreprises à travers
l’Europe. Elles disposent d’une
expérience substantielle dans des
domaines comme le dialogue social,
la formation et la qualification, la
normalisation aussi bien que dans
toutes les affaires pratiques
relatives à leur profession.
2 UEAPME
Einige dieser Fachverbände sind in
Brüssel vertreten. Andere haben
ihr Sekretariat in einem der
Nachbarländer Belgiens. Über ihre
nationalen Mitglieder decken sie
in vielen Fällen alle EU - Staaten
und andere Länder ab und
vertreten dadurch Tausende
mittelständische Unternehmen aus
allen Regionen Europas. Sie verfügen über eine große Erfahrung
in solchen Bereichen wie
sektorieller sozialer Dialog, Ausund Weiterbildung, Normung
sowie natürlich in
fachspezifischen Themen.
Although many of them are
already actively involved in consultative bodies, European working groups and standardisation
committees, the political
“Brussels” is not always aware of
their existence. On the other
hand, with political and economic
integration moving forward,
European institutions have to deal
with ever more specific questions.
The information requirements are
tremendous!
This brochure aims to introduce
European sectoral associations for
SMEs to all those who are involved
in the European integration
process. It is an invitation to take
advantage of the associations’
specific experience which they are
prepared to put at your disposal.
Please, do not hesitate to contact
them!
Bien que beaucoup d’entre elles
soient déjà activement impliquées
dans les comités consultatifs, les
groupes de travail européens et les
comités de normalisation, le
“Bruxelles” politique n’est pas
toujours au courant de leur
existence. D’un autre côté, avec
l’avancement de l’intégration
politique et économique, les
institutions européennes doivent
s’occuper des questions de plus en
plus spécifiques. Les demandes
d’informations sont immenses!
Cette brochure veut introduire les
associations sectorielles
européennes de PME à tous ceux
qui sont impliqués dans le
processus d’intégration européen.
C’est une invitation de prendre
avantage de leur expérience
spécifique qu’elles sont prêtes à
mettre à votre disposition.
N’hésitez pas à prendre contact
avec elles!
Hans-Werner Müller,
Secretary General
3 UEAPME
Obwohl sich viele von ihnen
schon aktiv an beratenden
Ausschüssen, europäischen
Arbeitsgruppen und
Normungsgremien beteiligen, ist
das politische “Brüssel” teilweise
ungenügend über ihre Existenz
informiert. Andererseits müssen
sich aber die Europäischen
Institutionen aufgrund der
fortschreitenden politischen und
wirtschaftlichen Integration mit
immer spezifischeren Fragen
befassen. Der Informationsbedarf
ist gewaltig!
Diese Broschüre möchte die
europäischen KMU Fachverbände all jenen vorstellen,
die in den europäischen
Integrationsprozeß involviert sind.
Es ist eine Aufforderung, die
spezifische Erfahrung dieser
Verbände zu nutzen, welche
Ihnen diese gern zur Verfügung
stellen. Zögern Sie nicht, mit
ihnen kontakt aufzunehmen.

EUROPEAN CARAVAN FEDERATION
ECF
The European Caravan Federation ECF is the umbrella
organisation representing twelve caravaning federations
and its numerous national member companies around
Europe. The objective of the ECF is to represent the
interest of all organisations commercially involved in the
caravaning business, particularly manufacturers, and to
promote the experience caravaning in all its forms. The
ECF was established in response to the gradual shift of
governmental responsibilities for many of the complex
economic, social, technical and legal issues relevant to
the caravaning industry from national to European levels.
The ECF with its specialist working groups and its wider
network readily provides expertise as an input during the
regular dialogues it maintains with legislators, regulators
and other European and international authorities at
Brussels, Paris and Geneva. In this way the ECF
contributes significantly to practical harmonisation and
development of relevant international legislation,
directives and standards to the benefit of all concerned.
