Nous sommes la 4ème génération à faire des Laboratoires
ANIOS une entreprise pérenne et fiable par son ancrage
dans l’histoire et à la pointe du progrès.
Nous nous sommes toujours focalisés sur un métier et un

nous en avons fait le nôtre et c’est ainsi que notre image

Clostridium difficile est un bacille Gram positif, anaérobie stricte. C’est le principal agent étiologique impliqué dans les diarrhées nosocomiales chez l’adulte
sous antibiothérapie.
Cette bactérie donne des spores particulièrement résistantes dans l’environnement.
Depuis 2003, une souche particulière de C. difficile,
dite «027», est responsable d’infections nosocomiales sévères et épidémiques. D’abord détectée
au Canada et aux Etats-Unis, elle a été impliquée
ensuite dans des épidémies hospitalières en GrandeBretagne, en Belgique et aux Pays-Bas. En France,
où elle avait déjà été isolée de manière ponctuelle
dans quelques hôpitaux, elle n’avait pas été identifiée
comme responsable d’épidémie avant 2006.
La survenue d’une infection digestive liée à C. difficile
(ICD) est le plus souvent induite par une antibiothérapie qui facilite l’implantation de la bactérie dans le
tube digestif et la sécrétion de deux toxines (A et B)
responsables des symptômes. La contamination par
C. difficile a lieu par voie féco-orale et sa transmission de personne à personne s’effectue directement
par manuportage ou à partir d’un environnement
contaminé.
La prévention des infections passe par un renforcement :
- du bionettoyage, avec notamment des produits nettoyants désinfectants sporicides,
- de l’hygiène des mains, par lavage, seule technique
efficace pour l’élimination des spores, combinée à
une antisepsie pour la destruction de la forme végétative de la bactérie.

CLOSTRIDIUM DIFFICILE
Clostridium difficile is a positive Gram bacteria, on
strict anaeroby. It is the main etiological agent implicated in the nosocomial diarrhaea in adult under
antibiotherapy.
This bacteria develops highly resistant spores in the
environment.
Since 2003, a specific C. difficile strain, named «027»,
is responsible for severe and epidemic nosocomial
infections. Firstly detected in Canada and in the United States of America, it was involved then in hospital epidemics in Great Britain, in Belgium and in the
Netherlands. In France, where it was already isolated
punctually in some hospitals, i twas not identified as
epidemic responsible before 2006.
The occurrence of digestive infection due to à C. difficile (ICD) is the most often induced by antibiotherapy
which facilitates the bacteria implantation in the alimentary canal and the secretion of two toxins (A and
B) responsible of symptoms. The contamination by
C. difficile exists by faeco-oral way and its transmission from people to people is directly done by handcarrying or from a contaminated environment.
Infections prevention needs a reinforcement of:
- biocleaning, with especially sporicidal disinfectant
cleaning products,
- hand hygiene, by washing, the only effective technique for removing spores, combined to hand antisepsis for the destruction of vegetative bacteria.

distinguer la propreté visuelle de la propreté microbiologique.
La propreté visuelle ou propreté macroscopique
représente la disparition des souillures visibles à

LA DÉSINFECTION
DES SURFACES
La désinfection des surfaces non critiques à l’hôpital joue un rôle non négligeable de barrière face
aux possibles infections associées aux soins. En
effet, toutes les surfaces ambiantes contribuent
à la contamination croisée (contacts et échanges
entre personnel soignant/surfaces/dispositifs
médicaux/patients). De plus, la mise en place
de produits désinfectants pour le traitement de
ces surfaces non critiques n’en augmente pas le
coût ni le travail. Un autre point important dans
la désinfection des surfaces non critiques est le
temps de contact nécessaire à l’action des produits désinfectants. La désinfection intervient
après le nettoyage et se fait généralement par
l’utilisation d’une solution hydroalcoolique à pulvériser uniformément sur les surfaces. L’une des
caractéristiques de ces solutions est un temps de
séchage rapide. Le temps d’action doit donc, en
adéquation avec cette donnée, être le plus court

The thermal aerosolisation process of ASEPTANIOS AD (diffusion of a liquid heated to
a defined temperature on to all surfaces) optimises a large spectrum of efficacy in a
short contact time.
The recognised antimicrobial performances of peracetic acid are enhanced by the thermal aerosol concept of ASEPTANIOS AD/AEROSEPT COMPACT 250, and thus allow a

LE PRÉ-TRAITEMENT
Le pré-traitement de l’instrumentation médicochirurgicale et des dispositifs médicaux est l’étape
précédant l’opération de nettoyage. Cette étape, encore appelée pré-désinfection, met en œuvre l’utilisation d’un produit détergent à propriétés désinfectantes et/ou un produit désinfectant à propriétés

Ce même type de produits peut être utilisé en lieu et
place d’un simple produit détergent lors de l’étape du
nettoyage. En effet, ils sont, pour la plupart, constitués de molécules tensio-actives à propriétés d’hydratation, solubilisation, émulsion, dispersion, saponification vis-à-vis des souillures à éliminer. D’autres
produits contiennent des enzymes (protéase, lipase,
amylase), facilitant l’action des molécules tensio-actives. Le Pouvoir Nettoyant Dégraissant (PND), méthodologie développée par les Laboratoires ANIOS,
vise à évaluer l’efficacité d’un produit détergent par
un dosage des protéines résiduelles au sein d’une
matrice complexe.

THE PRE-TREATMENT
The medical devices and medico-surgical instrumentation pre-treatment is the previous step before
the cleaning operation. This step, named also predisinfection, uses a detergent product with disinfectant properties and/or a disinfectant product with
detergent properties. The interest is multiple:
- microbial population decreasing as soon as the
first step of medical devices treatment
- facilitated antimicrobial action of later
sterilization/disinfection step
- quasi-null risk for medical devices
recontamination by immersion in a soaking bath,
as it is not burdened in micro-organisms
- limited cross contamination (direct « instrument/
instrument » or indirect « instrument/user/
instrument »)
- rejections of non contaminated solutions
in the environment (inhibition of micro-organisms)
During the cleaning step, this is this same type of
products which can be used instead of simple detergent product. Indeed, most of them are constituted
of surfactants with hydration, solubilisation, emulsion, dispersion saponification properties against
the soiling to be removed. Other products contain
enzymes (protease, lipase, amylase), making easier the surfactant action. The Degreasing Cleaning
Power (DCP), method developed by Laboratoires
ANIOS, permits to assess the detergent product effectiveness by residual proteins dosage in a complex
matrix.

La désinfection chirurgicale des mains s’est appelée autrefois « antisepsie chirurgicale des mains »
parce que les normes Européennes n’étaient pas
encore publiées. Elle a commencé dès 1995 en
France, puis s’est confirmée avec l’édition en 1999
des « 100 recommandations pour la surveillance et
la prévention vis-à-vis des infections nosocomiales
». Les recommandations nord-américaines, publiées en 2007, reprennent l’importance de la désinfection des mains dans la prévention de la transmission des agents pathogènes. A partir de 2006,
l’OMS a édité des recommandations sous le slogan
« clean care is safer care », mettant aussi en avant
la désinfection des mains. De nombreuses publications mettent en évidence les avantages liés à
l’utilisation des PHA, en termes de tolérance, observance et coût.
La formulation des PHA et le choix des constituants sont à l’origine de ces avantages.
Aujourd’hui, la technique a évolué vers une « bonne
gestuelle » décrite en 7 étapes dans les recommandations de 2009 et la friction des mains est un
indicateur dans la lutte contre les infections nosocomiales.
Certaines études réalisées en centre hospitalier
permettent de lier la baisse du taux de SARM acquis à la consommation de PHA.

DISINFECTION OF HANDS
Surgical disinfection of hands was previously named « surgical antisepsis of hands » because the
European standards were not yet published. It started since 1995 in France and then was confirmed in
1999 with the edition of the guidelines “100 recommendations for surveillance and prevention against
nosocomial infections”. The north-American guidelines, published in 2007, reclaim the importance
of hand disinfection in prevention for pathogenic
agents’ transmission. Since 2006, the WHO edited
guidelines with the slogan “clean care is safer care”
pushing ahead the hand disinfection. Many publications highlight advantages linked to the hydroalcoholic products use, in terms of tolerance, observance and cost.
The hydroalcoholic products formulation and the
constituents choice are at the origin of these advantages.
Today, the technique evolved toward a “good procedure” described in 7 steps in the guidelines of
2009 and hand rubbing is an indicator for the fight
against nosocomial infections.
Some studies realised in hospital allow to connect
the MRSA level decreasing to the hydroalcoholic
products consumption.

LA PRÉ-FILTRATION
DE L’EAU
La mise en place de préfiltres en amont d’un filtre
terminal à 0,2μm permet d’optimiser les résultats
de la filtration de l’eau, tout en préservant la longévité du filtre terminal à 0,2μm (retard du colmatage
de la membrane filtrante et maintient d’un débit
d’eau filtrée constant).
En effet de nombreux contaminants, solubles ou insolubles, se trouvent dans l’eau : matières solides
en suspension qui sédimentent (argiles, gypse,
rouille…) ou non (colloides), matières vivantes (bactéries, microalgues, virus…).
Le test du Fouling Index permet d’apprécier la qualité de l’eau à filtrer en déterminant l’indice de colmatage de l’eau tout en identifiant les contaminants
présents dans l’eau.

The setting up of prefilters upstream from a terminal 0.22μm filter permits to optimise water filtration results, and preserving the terminal 0.22μm
filter longevity (delay of filtering membrane blockage and maintaining of a constant filtered water
flowrate).
Indeed, many contaminants, soluble or insoluble,
exist in water: solid materials in suspension sedimenting (clays, gypsum, rust…) or not (colloids),
alive materials (bacteria, microalgae, viruses…)
The Fouling Index test permits to assess the quality
of the water to be filtered by determining the water
blockage index and identifying the contaminants

DIRECTIVE BIOCIDES (BPD)
Directive 98/8/CE du 16 février 1998
Définition
Un produit biocide vise à détruire, repousser ou rendre inoffensifs les organismes nuisibles, à en prévenir l’action
ou à les combattre de toute autre manière, par une action chimique ou biologique.
S’applique à une substance active et au produit contenant une ou plusieurs substances actives.
Objectif
La directive biocide s’inscrit dans une volonté, au niveau européen,
de maîtrise de l’efficacité des produits biocides dans le respect de la
santé humaine et animale et de l’environnement.
Il en découlera une Autorisation de Mise sur le Marché des produits
biocides au niveau national après évaluation de leurs dangers, de
leurs risques à l’utilisation et de leur efficacité.
Ceci ne se fera qu’après autorisation des substances actives biocides
au niveau communautaire, suite également à leur évaluation en
termes de dangers, risques et efficacité (inscription des substances en
annexe I de la directive).
4 groupes de produits biocides
• Groupe 1 : Désinfectants et produits biocides généraux ».
Ce groupe comprend 5 TP :
- TP 1 : Produits biocides destinés à l’hygiène humaine.
Ne sont pas concernés :
-les produits d’antisepsie de la peau pouvant être appliqués sur une
peau lésée ou en vue d’être lésée (ils répondent aux exigences de la
directive relative aux spécialités pharmaceutiques)
-les produits cosmétiques : produits d’hygiène corporelle et de soins
de la peau (ils répondent à la directive cosmétique).
- TP 2 : Désinfectants utilisés dans les lieux privés, publics
et industriels, y compris les établissements de santé.
Ne sont pas concernés :
Les produits destinés spécifiquement à la désinfection des dispositifs
médicaux. Ceux-ci relèvent de la directive relative aux dispositifs
médicaux
- TP 3 : Produits biocides destinés à l’hygiène vétérinaire.
- TP 4 : Désinfectants pour les surfaces en contact avec les
denrées alimentaires et les aliments pour animaux.
- TP 5 : Désinfectants pour eau de boisson.
• Groupe 2 : Produits de protection : protection du bois, conservateurs des détergents…(TP 6 à 13).
• Groupe 3 : Produits antiparasitaires : répulsifs, insecticides….(TP
14 à 19).
• Groupe 4 : Autres produits biocides : protection des denrées
alimentaires, embaumement…(TP 20 à 23).

Mise en œuvre
Les 10 ans initialement prévus pour procéder à l’examen de l’ensemble des substances sont finalement insuffisants et viennent d’être
prolongés de 4 ans, pour une échéance au 14 mai 2014.
Ce nouveau délai ne dispense pas des obligations déjà applicables,
notamment en termes de formulation (utilisation d’actifs biocides en
cours d’examen) et d’étiquetage.
Concernant les substances biocides désinfectantes, leur examen est
en cours et les premières inscriptions en annexe I sont attendues dès
2011. Les dossiers de demande d’autorisation de mise sur le marché
des produits désinfectants les contenant devront être déposés dans les
2 ans, soit d’ici 2012/2013.
En tant qu’utilisateur, suis-je concerné par cette directive ?
Outre les obligations applicables aux fabricants de substances
biocides et formulateurs utilisant ces substances, la directive biocide
englobe des obligations pour les utilisateurs des dits produits biocides.
Aujourd’hui
Seule l’utilisation de produits biocides désinfectants formulés avec des
substances actives notifiées et en cours d’évaluation pour l’usage adéquat est possible. Ceci peut faire l’objet de contrôle chez l’utilisateur,
notamment par les DRIRE (Directions Régionales de l’Industrie, de la
Recherche et de l’Environnement).
Demain
Après la fin de la période transitoire, l’utilisateur aura obligation d’utiliser des produits avec AMM (Autorisation de Mise sur le Marché).
Il importera à l’utilisateur de s’assurer que les indications d’usage ainsi
que les conditions d’emploi (dilution – temps de contact – température)
retenues dans les protocoles précédemment validés soient en accord
avec les conditions d’AMM du produit.
Toute application d’un produit biocide devra être reprise dans les
strictes conditions de l’AMM.

BIOCIDAL PRODUCTS
DIRECTIVE (BPD)
European Directive 98/8/EC of 16th February 1998
Definition
A Biocidal product aims to destroy, deter or render harmless, prevent the action of, or otherwise exert a controlling effect on any harmful
organism by chemical or biological
means. Applies to active substances and to products containing one or more active substances.
Goal
The biocides directive is a European directive designed to control the
effectiveness of biocidal products to respect human and animal health
and the environment.
This directive will result in a Marketing Authorisation procedure for
biocidal products France-wide, after assessment of their hazards, of
the risks arising from their use and of their effectiveness.
This procedure will only be implemented once the active biocidal
substances have been authorised on an EC level and once the evaluation of these substances in terms of hazards, risks and effectiveness
has been carried out (inclusion of substances in annexe
I of the directive).
4 groups of biocidal products
• Groupe 1 : Disinfectants and general biocidal products
(TP 1 to 5):
- TP 1 : Biocidal products destined for human hygiene.
The following are not affected:
- skin antiseptic products that may be applied to damaged skin or
prior to opening (preparing an area for surgery, before puncture,
before injection), they meet the directive’s requirements in relation to
trademarked drugs
- cosmetic products : bodily hygiene and skincare products such as
shower gels, mild soaps or hand creams. They are covered by the
cosmetics directive.
- TP 2 : Disinfectants used on private, public and industrial
premises, including health facilities.
The following are not affected:
- products destined specifically for the disinfection of medical devices.
The latter fall under the medical devices directive.
- TP 3 : Biocidal products destined for veterinary hygiene.
- TP 4 : Disinfectants for surfaces in contact with foodstuff
and animal feed.
- TP 5 : Disinfectants for drinking water.
• Groupe 2 : Preservatives: wood preservatives, detergent preservatives … (TP 6 to 13).
• Groupe 3 : Pest control: repellents, insecticides…(TP 14 to 19).
• Groupe 4 : Other biocidal products: food preservatives, embalming…(TP 20 to 23).
Implementation
The initial 10-year period allocated for the analysis of all substances
has not been sufficient and has been extended for an additional
4-year period ending on 14th May 2014.
This new date does not waive the obligations that already apply,
particularly in terms of formulation (use of biocidal active substances
currently under examination) and labelling. Disinfectant biocidal
substances are currently under examination and the first inclusions in
annexe I are expected from 2011. Application forms for marketing
authorisation for disinfectant products containing biocidal products
will need to be submitted within two years, so before 2012/2013.
As a user, am I affected by this directive?
Besides obligations that apply to manufacturers of biocidal substances
and to formulators using these substances, the biocidal directive
does encompass obligations for users of the aforementioned biocidal
products.
Today
Only the use of disinfectant biocidal products formulated using notified
active substances currently undergoing assessment for appropriate
usage is possible. The use of these products may engender inspections
on the user’s premises, notably by the DRIRE (Regional
Directorates of Industry, Research and the Environment).
Tomorrow
At the end of the transitional period (i.e. from 2012/13 for disinfectants), the user will have to use products that have AMM (Marketing
Authorisation). The user will be responsible for ensuring that all usage
instructions and terms of use (dilution – contact time – temperature)
stipulated in the most recent applicable protocols are in keeping with
the terms set out in the product’s AMM marketing authorisation. Use
of biocidal products must comply strictly with the terms of the AMM
marketing authorisation.
