and regulations
A) Tournament Format
- 2 pools of 5 teams
- Each team will play the other four teams in the round robin.
- Teams will be ranked 1 to 5 according to their standing after the round robin.
- N.C.A.A. rules except for the ‘’hybrid icing rule’’.
- Semi finals will be #1 pool A vs #2 pool B. And #2 pool A vs #1 pool B
- Championship game will be the winners of the two semi finals.
- Overtime, during Sunday’s games, will be a 5 minutes 4 on 4 suddendeath, followed by
a 3 men shootout if necessary.
- 21 men roster, including 2 goalies.
B) Game Format
- Neck guards are required by law in Quebec.
- 5 minutes warm up
- 2 periods of 25 minutes
- Ice cut after each period
- Teams are allowed one 30 s. Time-out per game.
- Teams are not allowed to warm-up goalies at any time during the game.
- Warm up, prior to your game will take place on new ice.
- Overtime will only be played on Sunday.
- Game misconduct penalties: The game only
- Match penalties: Suspended for the rest of the tournament.
- Fighting will result in a suspension for the the rest of the tournament.
- Team listed first on the schedule is the home team and they must wear white.
- Sunday’s shootout: Teams must send a different player each time until the entire line up
is completed before repeting the same player.
C) Tie Breaker
- Total Points: 2 pts for a win, 1 pt. For a tie, 0 pt. For a loss.
- Head to Head.
- Best plus minus. (maximum of plus or minus 5 per game)
- Fewest goals against.
- Best special units total: PP% + PK%
- Less penalized team in minutes called by the referee and/or the linesmen.
- Coin Flip.
If a winner has been determined and the remaining teams remain tied, the tiebreaker
process starts over again and follows until the ranking is decided with the remaining teams.
