FRENCH SPEAKERS AT THE MEETING Christian DERAMBURE, President of CNCPI Christian Derambure is a graduate engineer from Ecole des Mines. Christian Derambure began his career in Intellectual Property in 1972. Since then, he has managed major IP firms in France. Christian has been very active at the CNCPI for a number of years and is President since 2005, having been re elected three times. Alain MICHELET, Vice President of CNCPI Alain Michelet is Chairman and Executive Officer of Cabinet HARLE et PHELIP, European Patent and Trademark Attorney, former Member of the Examination Committee for Qualification of European Patent Attorneys; He is physics graduate from Ecole Supérieure d'Optique, specialized in optics, electronics and measuring devices. He was trained by FORMEX to be an Examiner with the European Patent Office. He worked for 11 years with ANVAR dealing with licensing of results of French Public Research. He is a Patent Attorney since 1986. He was President of ACPI (French Association of Industrial Property Attorneys). Cyra NARGOLWALLA, Treasurer of CNCPI Cyra Nargolwalla is a partner at Cabinet Plasseraud where she works on patent matters mainly in the Biotech and Pharmatceutical fields. She is regularly at the EPO for Opposition/Appeal Proceedings and regularly handles litigation matters in France, but also has exposure to litigation in other countries. She also deals with contracts/licences and due diligence matters. She speaks at conferences on biotech/pharmacy patent matters as well as on litigationrelated topics. Cyra is currently Treasurer of the CNCPI. François POCHART, Secretary of CNCPI François Pochart is a French & European Patent Attorney. He is graduated from Ecole Polytechnique. He holds a post-graduate degree in Chemical Engineering and is Master in Law. He is a partner of the firm since more than 10 years. He is specialized in chemistry and pharma industries, and is involved in both prosecution and litigation. François Pochart is the current Secretary to the French profession, a former president of the French association (the national French FICPI branch), vicechair of the patents commission of Union. Gabriel de KERNIER, Partner at Cabinet Netter Gabriel de Kernier is a French and European Patent Attorney. He is a Graduate Engineer from the Ecole Spéciale de Mécanique et d’Electricité (ESME). He holds a post-graduate degree in Industrial Property Law (CEIPIStrasbourg). He has been working in the Industrial Property field since 1993 and is partner at Cabinet Netter in Paris. Gabriel de Kernier is also Lecturer on French and European Patent Law at the EFE and ECP. He is current member of AIPPI, EPI and Union. Aurélia MARIE, Partner at Cabinet Beau de Loménie Aurélia Marie is a French Industrial Property Attorney and a European Trademark Attorney. She has a Master's Degree in Business Law (1985) and a Post-Graduate Professional Degree (DESS) in International Contracts Law and Practice (University of Paris X 1986). She obtained her Certificate of Qualification to practice as a Barrister (CAPA) in 1987 and her Post-Graduate Professional Degree (DESS) in Industrial Property Law in 1988. She began her career as a Lawyer working in the Agreements and Intellectual Property Department of a large industrial business. She then practiced as an Attorney at Law for several years, in an Intellectual Property Law firm, before joining Cabinet Beau de Loménie in 1993. She became a Partner of the firm in 2003. She specializes in the fields of trademarks, designs, unfair competition and copyright for the acquisition of rights and for their enforcement. Bertrand Warusfel, French Industrial Property Attorney Bertrand Warusfel is Attorney at Law in Paris, partner of the FWPA Law Office (Feltesse Warusfel Pasquier & Associés). He is a former French Industrial Property Attorney. Graduated from Science Po Paris, he has a Phd in Law and two Post-Graduate Professional Degrees. Bertrand Warusfel is also Professor in Law at the University of Lille 2, where he teaches international and european Patent Law. He is current member of AIPPI and of the editorial board of the French Review "Propriétés intellectuelles". He specializes in the fields of patent, software and copyright litigations. He also deals with contracts and licences matters. Regarding european litigation questions, he was involved in the creation of the first Course on Patent Litigation in Europe at EPI/Ceipi (2003) and co-chaired a working group on that subject in the Paris Institut de recherche en propriété intellectuelle (IRPI, 2008). The CNCPI in brief The CNCPI, French Institute of Patent & Trademark Attorneys, was created in 1990, as successor of the French Institute of Patent Attorneys. The CNCPI is placed under the authority of the French National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI). The French Profession of Conseils en propriété industrielle was set up more that 200 years ago, with the first Patent Law (1791).
