ÉTUDES PLURIDISCIPLINAIRES DU PLURALISME RELIGIEUX
Dans une perspective dynamique visant à fédérer les réseaux et opérations de
recherche, l'Institut du Pluralisme Religieux et de l'Athéisme (IPRA – http://ipra.eu),
en lien avec la Maison des Sciences de l'Homme Ange-Guépin (USR Université de
Nantes – CNRS) et le Service Europe et recherche de l’Université Nantes Angers Le
Mans (L’UNAM), propose un accompagnement à la recherche de fonds et au montage
de projets interdisciplinaires sur la thématique du pluralisme religieux en Europe et
dans l’espace méditerranéen sur la longue durée Ve-XXle siècles.
L'objectif de cette action vise à créer et fédérer une communauté de chercheurs et
d’activités scientifiques autour d'une structure et d'un réseau international plus large
et coordonné.
L'IPRA est un institut de recherche et de valorisation interdisciplinaire (histoire, littérature,
droit, philosophie, science politique, etc.), financé par la Région Pays de la Loire, hébergé à
la Maison des Sciences de l'Homme Ange-Guépin et porté par les Universités de Nantes et
du Maine. Son objet est l’étude du pluralisme religieux et de l’athéisme en Europe et dans le
monde méditerranéen. Il rassemble une large communauté de chercheurs ligériens, français
et internationaux. Il a pour objectif de fédérer, structurer et connecter la communauté
scientifique sur différentes échelles : régionale, nationale et internationale, autour
d'opérations de recherche et de valorisation (enseignement, formation, actions grand
public). Pour optimiser l'impact des travaux conduits par cette communauté face aux enjeux
de société et bénéficier de la qualité et de l'ampleur des activités déjà réalisées, l'IPRA
s'affiche comme un espace centralisé de sources, de ressources, de littérature et de
valorisation de la recherche à destination des chercheurs, enseignants, étudiants et plus
largement du grand public, sur le pluralisme religieux en Europe et dans l’espace
méditerranéen sur la longue durée.
L'IPRA souhaite se positionner comme pépinière de projets de recherche interdisciplinaires
portant sur l'étude des religions, de l'athéisme et de la laïcité. En fédérant les forces vives,
nous proposons de structurer et renforcer un large réseau de chercheurs associés et de
s'organiser comme un institut majeur visible dans le domaine. En effet, un effort
d'accompagnement de projets est plus que jamais nécessaire car le contexte actuel est
marqué par des taux de réussite faibles aux différents appels à projets nationaux ou
internationaux. C’est un constat qui incite à dépasser/optimiser le stade de la coopération
pour s’inscrire dans la compétition. Or une plus forte reconnaissance internationale passe
par la participation à des appels à projets internationaux et par le soutien à celles et ceux qui
veulent prendre le leadership sur des actions à l'international.
Cet appel s'adresse aux chercheurs et enseignants-chercheurs de tous champs
disciplinaires en LLSHS et de toute origine géographique et affiliation souhaitant proposer un
projet de recherche portant sur les thématiques énoncées. Il peut s'agir d'un projet à l'état
embryonnaire ou déjà précisément défini.
L’IPRA s’appuie sur les services et compétences de la Maison des Sciences de l'Homme
Ange-Guépin et du service Europe et recherche de l’UNAM pour l'identification et le fléchage
des appels à propositions et financements, ainsi que pour l'aide au montage de projets.

L'IPRA met à disposition des chercheurs:

les compétences scientifiques disciplinaires et interdisciplinaires pour la préévaluation du projet et son montage
•
le réseau de collaborateurs et partenaires académiques et non-académiques
pour la constitution éventuelle de consortiums
•
la visibilité et le rayonnement de l'institut pour les projets financés et le travail
en réseau

Modalités de dépôt :
•
le pré-projet devra comporter a minima une description du projet, de sa mise
en œuvre, des résultats attendus (1 à 2 pages) ainsi qu'un CV du chercheur porteur
du projet

il devra être en lien avec les activités de recherche de l'IPRA
•
il devra être présenté au minimum 3 mois avant la date limite visée pour le
dépôt final auprès de l'agence de financement dans le cadre de l’appel à projets visé
Circuit de suivi et d'accompagnement :
•
réception des projets par l'IPRA
•
évaluation de compatibilité et de l'intérêt scientifique par l'IPRA : poursuite du
suivi de projet ou renvoi au porteur
•
fléchage MSH / Service Europe et recherche (projet national / international) ciblage des appels appropriés
•
constitution de l'équipe de travail, accompagnement et travail sur les
contenus, les Work Packages, les livrables, la méthodologie (navettes avec l'IPRA et
les services MSH / Europe et recherche mobilisés)
•
montage du budget et montage du dossier complet
•
relectures et dépôt auprès de l'agence
Les projets financés seront portés et hébergé au sein d'une Université de tutelle de
l'IPRA (Nantes ou Le Mans) et bénéficieront du :
•
soutien et support administratif et logistique de la Maison des Sciences de
l'Homme Ange-Guépin (Nantes), de l'Université de Nantes et de l'Université du
Maine (infrastructures de travail, services administratifs, numériques, documentation,
accueil d'événements, etc.)
•
soutien à l'organisation de manifestations scientifiques (colloques, séminaires
doctoraux, journées d’études) et grand public
Intégration du projet au sein de l'IPRA : chaque projet sera piloté de manière autonome et
indépendante par son porteur. Les activités menés et les livrables porteront la mention de
l'IPRA comme institut hôte/de tutelle. L'IPRA participera à leur organisation et diffusion.

FUNDRAISING SUPPORT
PLURIDISCIPLINARY STUDIES ON RELIGIOUS PLURALISM
IPRA (institute of religious pluralism and atheism – http://ipra.eu), in conjunction with
the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme Ange-Guépin (USR Université de Nantes –
CNRS) and the UNAM (University Nantes Angers Le Mans) Service Europe et
recherche, offers support for seeking funds and developing and submitting
interdisciplinary projects in the field of religious pluralism in Europe and the
Mediterranean world (5th – 21st century).
The aim of this action is to create and consolidate a community of researchers and
scientific activities among a wide, coordinated and international structure and
network.
IPRA is an interdisciplinary research institute (history, literature, law, philosophy, political
science, etc.) funded by the Région Pays de la Loire, hosted at the Maison des Sciences de
l’Homme Ange-Guépin and supported by the Université du Maine and the Université de
Nantes. Its field of study concerns religious pluralism and atheism in Europe and the
Mediterranean world. It brings together a community of scholars from local, national and
international universities and institutions. Its ambition is to connect and federate the
academic community on the regional, national and international scales around a series of
operations: fundamental research and scientific promotion (education, training, actions
toward the general public). In order to improve the impact of its research in the face of the
societal challenges and to benefit from the quality and scale of the work already undertaken,
IPRA seeks to serve as a hub of sources, resources, literature and promotion tools for
researchers, teachers, students and more largely the civil society.
IPRA is an incubator for interdisciplinary research projects in the field of religions, atheism
and secularization. By coordinating our efforts, we propose to structure and reinforce the
network of scholars and associate researchers so as to become a major institute in the field.
Given the low success rates in the different calls (national or international), it is necessary to
provide support to the processes of creation and submission of projects. This observation
encourages us to overcome and enhance the stage of cooperation and become competitive:
a better international recognition means a wider participation to calls for projects and the
support to those who wish to become leaders on international actions.
This present call concerns researchers, academics and scholars in all disciplines in the field
of humanities and social sciences and of all geographic origins and affiliations, who wish to
submit a research project corresponding to the themes and objects studied by IPRA. It may
be a project in its initial phases of development or already in a more advanced stage.
IPRA relies on the services and skills of the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme Ange-Guépin
and the UNAM Service Europe et recherche for the identification and targeting of calls for
funding as well as for the support in the project’s engineering.

Submission modalities:
• The pre-project must contain a description of the project, of its implementation and
expected results (1-2 pages) as well as a CV of the project’s leader
• It must be in compliance with IPRA research themes
• It must be presented at least 3 months before the submission deadline at the targeted
funding agency
Workflow and support processing:
• Receipt of project by IPRA
• Evaluation of the scientific project by IPRA
• Distribution to MSH or Service Europe et recherche (national or international call) –
targeting appropriate calls, project engineering
• Constitution of support unit (scientific and administrative), definition of work packages,
deliverables, methodology, etc. (going back and forth with MSH / service Europe et
recherche and IPRA)
• Budget and final proposal consolidation
• Proofreading and submission to the funding agency
Funded projects will be managed and hosted at the Université de Nantes or the
Université du Maine. They will benefit from:

Assistance in the planning and organization of scientific and public events
Integration to IPRA: each project will be carried out and led autonomously and independently
by its principal investigator (PI). The activities and deliverables will mention the IPRA as host
institution for the project. IPRA will actively participate in the progress, execution and
promotion of the project.
