QU’EST-CE QUE LE SÉCHAGE?
WHAT IS DRYING?
Le séchage est un procédé d’évaporation de l’eau.
L’eau à la surface d’un cheveu mouillé s’évapore progressivement. Or, l’air en contact direct avec le cheveu est
rapidement saturé en humidité, freinant le processus d’évaporation. Le séchage est ralenti au point de s’arrêter en
un point d’équilibre. On parle alors de vapeur saturée. Pour que le séchage puisse se poursuivre, il faut rompre cet
équilibre.
Le flux du sèche-cheveux évacue cette vapeur saturée et la remplace par un air sec.
Ainsi, plus le flux du sèche-cheveux est important, plus le séchage est rapide.
L’air chaud favorise le processus d’évaporation, en absorbant une plus grande quantité d’eau.
Cependant, une température trop élevée endommage la fibre capillaire lors du séchage.
Pour que le séchage des cheveux soit optimal tout en protégeant la fibre capillaire, BaByliss :

Drying is a process whereby water evaporates.
The water on the surface of wet hair evaporates progressively. Now, air in direct contact with hair rapidly becomes saturated
with humidity, slowing the evaporation process. Drying is slowed and even stops when it reaches a balance point. At this point,
we talk about «saturated vapour».
For drying to be continued, this balance needs to shift.
The hair-dryer’s air flow removes this saturated vapour and replaces it with dry air.
Thus, the greater the air flow of the hair-dryer, the quicker the drying.
Hot air encourages evaporation, absorbing larger quantities of water.
However, if the temperature is too high, the hair fibre is damaged through drying.

QU’EST-CE QUE LE BRUSHING?
WHAT IS STYLING ?
Le cheveu est composé d’une protéine, la kératine, formée d’une torsade de 4 chaînes (1) reliées par des liaisons
chimiques et dont l’organisation assure la cohésion du cheveu.
Pour mettre en forme le cheveu, il faut rompre les liaisons chimiques et les reconstituer à un autre endroit. Au contact de l’eau ou de la chaleur, les liaisons chimiques les plus faibles se brisent (2). Les chaînes de kératine
peuvent alors se déplacer, permettant au cheveu mouillé de devenir malléable et de prendre la forme souhaitée.
Une chevelure naturellement bouclée peut donc être lissée ou à l’inverse, une chevelure naturellement lisse peut
être bouclée (3).
Quand le cheveu sèche et refroidit, les liaisons chimiques faibles se rétablissent selon la forme prise par les chaînes
de kératine, garantissant la tenue du cheveu dans la forme donnée lors du brushing (4).
Pour un brushing précis et longue durée, il est nécessaire de concentrer le flux du sèche-cheveux au maximum pour
que les cheveux restent en contact avec la brosse sans s’éparpiller et prennent la forme souhaitée.
Pour ce faire, BaByliss :
a dessiné le concentrateur le plus fin du marché (4mm) pour un flux d’air ultra précis.

Hair consists of a protein, keratin, formed from a twist of four chains (1) bond by chemical bonds. Its organisation ensures the
hair’s cohesion.
In order to style our hair, we need to break the chemical bonds and rebuild them elsewhere.
When brought into contact with water or heat, the weaker chemical bonds break (2). The keratin chains can then move, allowing
damp hair to deform and take the desired form. Naturally curly hair can thus be straightened, or, the opposite, naturally straight
hair can be curled (3).
When hair is dried and cooled, the weak chemical bonds are re-established according to the form assumed by the keratin
chains, guaranteeing that the hair will hold the shape after styling (4).
For precise, long-lasting styling, the hair-dryer flow must be focused at maximum to ensure that the hair remains in contact with
the brush without tangling and takes on the desired style.

Le rotor d’un moteur traditionnel est composé de plusieurs paires de bobines d’induction
qui doivent être alimentées alternativement pour générer le champ magnétique
tournant et provoquer la rotation du moteur.
Les connexions électriques successives nécessaires à l’alimentation de ces bobines
sont assurées mécaniquement, par contact continu entre des balais en charbons
fixes (1) et les pistes en cuivre du rotor.
C’est ce que l’on appelle la commutation mécanique (2).
Ce frottement continuel des balais en charbon limite la vitesse de rotation du moteur et
provoque un échauffement qui réduit les performances et le rendement énergétique.
Il engendre aussi une usure rapide et génère des vibrations et l’émission de particules
de carbone qui s’échappent dans l’atmosphère.
The rotor of a traditional motor consists of several pairs of induction coils that require alternate
powering in order to generate the rotating magnetic field and cause the motor to rotate.
The subsequent electrical connections necessary to power these coils are ensured mechanically,
by continuous contact between the fixed carbon brushes (1) and the copper rotor tracks.
This is what is called mechanical switching (2).
The continuous rubbing of the carbon brushes limits the motor revolution speed and causes
heating that reduces performance and energy yield.
It also results in quick wear and tear and generates vibrations and the emission of carbon
particles that are released into the atmosphere.

Le stator du moteur EC Digital est muni de 9 bobines d’induction (1) qui sont pilotées
électroniquement, séquentiellement et sans contact pour créer le champ magnétique
tournant. Cette séquence est contrôlée par un microprocesseur (2) travaillant à une
fréquence de 4 MHz (soit 4 millions d’opérations par seconde) et est qualifiée de
commutation électronique.
Le champ magnétique tournant généré emmène un anneau rotatif équipé de 6 pôles
magnétiques ultra puissants en Néodyme (3) .
Cette commutation électronique remplace les traditionnels balais en charbon et en
élimine donc les inconvénients
The EC Digital motor stator is fitted with nine electronically-controlled sequential induction coils
(1) that require no contact to create the rotating magnetic field. This sequence is controlled
by a microprocessor (2) working at a frequency of 4 MHz (that is, four million operations per
second) and is classified as electronic commutation.
The rotating magnetic field generated imparts movement to a rotating ring equipped with six
ultra-powerful Neodymium magnetic poles (3).
This electronic switch replaces the traditional carbon brushes and thereby eliminates all the
related problems.
