Last update: 01 September 2014 GER45 Title of the measure: KfW-IKK-Programme for Energy Efficient Urban Lighting (KfW-IKK-Programm zur energieeffizienten Stadtbeleuchtung ) General description The IKK program - Energetic Urban renewal - Urban lighting allows municipalities’ attractive financing of investments in the sustainable improvement of the energy efficiency of public lighting. With this program, KfW contributes to the implementation of climate protection objectives of the Federal Government. Eligible applicants include the following investors: Local authorities Non-autonomous municipal enterprises of local authorities Community organizations (for e.g. municipal special purpose associations) Financing will be subjected to the execution of various energetic measures in improving the energy efficiency of street lighting including lighting of pedestrian crossings, lighting of parking lots, public open spaces, sports facilities, lighting in parking garages and underground parking lots, traffic signals and the construction of charging stations for electric vehicles (only in connection with eligible measures of public street lighting). Programme provides funding of up to 100% of the eligible investment costs per project. Repayment can be in 10 years with up to 2 years of grace period. Impact evaluation (methods and results) Assessment of the energy savings by the IKK Urban efficient light programme has been carreid out by the Prognos and the results have been incorporated in the 3rd NEEAP and the Article 7 notification.
