liebe Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter,
Dear business partners,
dear employees,
neben Qualität spielen Zuverlässigkeit und Schnelligkeit
eine wichtige Rolle, wenn es darum geht, unsere Kunden glücklich zu machen. Im letzten halben Jahr durften
wir diese Leistungen in zahlreichen Projekten unter
Beweis stellen. Wir freuen uns, Ihnen einige davon vorstellen zu dürfen.
In addition to quality, reliability and speed play important roles in making our customers happy. In the last
half year, we have been able to prove our performance
in many projects. We are glad to be able to present a
few of them to you.
Kurzfristig Platz zu schaffen, wo er dringend benötigt
wird, ist eine unserer Kernkompetenzen. In Delmenhorst etwa ist Pizzabäcker Vincenzo Morrone kurzfristig
in eine mobile ELA Raumlösung umgezogen (S. 12). In
Rutesheim wurden ein Geschäft und eine Praxis in ein
temporäres ELA Gebäude verlegt (S. 6 und 7). Auch
in der Urlaubsregion an der Nordsee dürften Sie dem
einen oder anderen unserer Container begegnet sein
(S. 9).
Selbstverständlich möchten wir Ihnen in dieser Ausgabe auch Einblicke in unsere ELA Welt geben. Wir stellen
Ihnen unseren Standort in den Niederlanden (S. 14 und
15) vor sowie unseren Arbeitsschutzausschuss (ASA),
der bei ELA für Gesundheit am Arbeitsplatz sorgt
(S. 13). Mit Fortsetzung der Serie „Branchenlösungen“
erhalten Sie dieses Mal Ideen, wie unsere Räume als
Pförtnerhäuser oder Anmeldungen eingesetzt werden
können (S. 16 und 17).
Creating space on short notice where it is urgently needed is one of our core competences. In Delmenhorst,
for example, pizza baker Vincenzo Morrone moved into
a mobile ELA room solution for a short period (P. 12). In
Rutesheim, a store and a doctor‘s practice have been
relocated into a temporary ELA building (P. 6 and 7).
You will likely have seen a few of our containers in the
holiday region by the North Sea as well (P. 9).
Of course, we would like to also give you some insights
into our ELA world in this issue. We present our site in
the Netherlands (P. 14 and 15) and our work protection committee (Arbeitsschutzausschuss; ASA), which
ensures health and safety at work at ELA (P. 13). The
new instalment of the series „Industry solutions“ provides ideas on how our rooms can be used as porters‘
houses or reception areas (P. 16 and 17).

Elisabeth Albers 1972 mit der Gründung der ELA Container GmbH an. Das Paar erkannte früh den steigenden

Africa. „Germany as a base, the world as the destination - this has always been the leading principle at ELA,“
explains Günter Albers, who now manages the company in the second generation together with his siblings
Tim Albers and Liesel Albers-Bentlage. ELA currently
maintains twelve rental centres and more than 500
employees around the world. There are branches in the
Netherlands, Belgium, Poland and Qatar, among others.
The company‘s rental park comprises more than 22,000
containers. The mobile rooms are for sale as well - as
standard units or customised to the customer‘s wishes.
In addition to the expansion of the markets, ELA containers are also always about the further development
of container technology and the services offered. „Our

Inzwischen setzen unterschiedlichste Branchen auf die
Container von ELA. Auf Baustellen werden die Räume
als Umkleiden, Werkstätten oder Lager eingesetzt. Oft
dienen sie aber auch als Büro, Kindergarten, Schule,
Ausstellungsraum, Arztpraxis oder Bank. Die Geschäftsleitung ist überzeugt: „Ideen zur Nutzung unserer mobilen Räume sind keine Grenzen gesetzt.“ Das zeigen
Projekte wie die Kapelle aus ELA Containern in Russland
oder eine Anlage in Porto Amboim an der Westküste
Afrikas. Hier errichtete ELA auf freier Fläche innerhalb
kürzester Zeit einen Gebäudekomplex, in dem sich Unterkünfte, Büros und Kantinen für die Mitarbeiter eines
Bauprojektes befinden. Dazu wurden 188 Container von
Haren aus per LKW und Schiff nach Angola transportiert.
„Solche Projekte sind technisch und logistisch eine
Herausforderung, die wir gerne annehmen“, so die
Geschäftsführer. „ELA Container wird mit Qualität, Zuverlässigkeit und Schnelligkeit auch in Zukunft nicht nur
nationale, sondern auch internationale Kunden von den
Containern aus dem heimischen Emsland überzeugen.“
By now, many different industries are relying on ELA
containers. Construction sites use them as changing
rooms, workshops or storage space. Other frequent
uses include offices, day-care facilities, schools, exhibition rooms, doctor‘s practices or banks. The management is certain: „There is no limit to the ideas for use of
our mobile rooms.“ This is proven by projects like the
chapel made of ELA containers in Russia or a facility in
Porto Amboim at the African West Coast. ELA constructed a building complex with residences, offices and
canteen kitchens for the employees of a construction
project here in a very short period. 188 containers were
brought to Angola for this from Haren by truck and ship.
„Such projects are technical and logistics challenges that we love to tackle,“ say the managers. „ELA
Container will continue to convince national as well
as international customers of the containers from our
home, the Emsland, with quality, reliability and speed in
future as well.“

Renovierungsarbeiten oder Neubauten im Kern von
Städten stellen besondere Herausforderungen dar.
In den Gebäuden ansässige Geschäftsleute wollen
während der Umbauphasen möglichst wenige Einschränkungen hinnehmen. Die Stadt Rutesheim in
Baden-Württemberg stand vor genau einer solchen Herausforderung und fand gemeinsam mit ELA Container
eine kluge Übergangslösung.
Renovation work or new construction projects in city
cores pose special challenges. Businesses in the
buildings want to suffer as few limitations as possible while work is underway. The town of Rutesheim in
Baden-Württemberg was facing just this challenge.
Together with ELA Container, it found a smart interim
solution.
ELA lieferte die Räume mit kompletter Elektroinstallation und passender Kommunikationstechnologie. Klimageräte und Warmwasserheizkörper sorgen bei jedem
Wetter für angenehme Temperaturen. Eine spezielle
Dämmung in den Wänden, der Decke und dem Boden
der Raummodule gleicht Temperaturschwankungen
zuverlässig aus.
Das Bestandsgebäude, in dem eine HNO-Praxis sowie
ein Hörgeräteakustiker untergebracht waren, musste
dringend ersetzt werden. Für die Zeit der Bauphase
sind die Praxis und das Geschäft nun in ein mobiles
Interimsgebäude von ELA umgezogen – lediglich 100
Meter vom alten Gebäude entfernt. Die Anlage aus 17
ELA Premiumcontainern einschließlich Flurmodulen
bietet 260 Quadratmeter Nutzfläche.
„Wir sind froh, dass wir mit den ELA Räumen eine so
praktikable Lösung gefunden haben“, so Stadtbaumeister Bernhard Dieterle-Bard von der Stadt Rutesheim.
„Alle Beteiligten sind zufrieden. Jetzt müssen sich die
Container im kommenden Winter bewähren.“ In der
Anlage, die sich der HNO-Arzt und die Hörgerätefirma
teilen, befinden sich ein Akustikraum, ein Empfang,
Sprech- und Wartezimmer, ein Labor, ein Untersuchungsraum, ein Archiv sowie mehrere Sanitärbereiche.

time of construction, the practice and store have now
moved into a mobile interim building by ELA – only 100
metres away from the original site. The facility made of
17 ELA premium containers, including hallway modules,
offers a useful area of 260 square metres.
„We are happy to have found such a practical solution
in the ELA rooms,“ says urban development specialist
Bernhard Dieterle-Bard from the town of Rutesheim.
„All parties are satisfied. Now, the containers need to
prove their worth in the upcoming winter.“ The facility,
shared by the ENT doctor and the hearing aid company,
holds an acoustic room, a reception area, office and
waiting rooms, a lab, an examination room, an archive
and several sanitary areas.
„Bei unseren Modulen setzen wir auf höchste Qualität“, erklärt ELA Area Sales Manager Oliver Kölblin.
„Angefangen bei der Auswahl gesundheitsfreundlicher
Materialien über die Verarbeitung bis hin zum Service.“
Das sei der Grund, weshalb auch Kunden abseits der
klassischen Branchen wie Bau und Industrie auf die
Interimslösungen von ELA setzen. „Arztpraxen, Apotheken, Banken, Geschäfte oder Hotels sind in unseren
Räumen keine Seltenheit“, so Kölblin weiter.
Die Raumlösung in Rutesheim ist da ein weiterer Beleg. Knapp zwei Jahre lang wird der Einsatz der ELA
Module dort dauern. Nach Fertigstellung des Neubaus
übernimmt ELA den Rückbau der Interimsräume. Dann
stehen die Module für neue Projekte zur Verfügung.
Kölblins Fazit: „So sieht ein nachhaltiger Umgang mit
Raum aus.“

Air conditioning units and hot-water radiators ensure
pleasant temperatures no matter the weather. Special
insulation in the walls, ceiling and floor of the room
modules reliably compensates for temperature fluctuations.
„We rely on the best quality in our modules,“ ELA Area
Sales Manager Oliver Kölblin explains. „From selection
of healthy materials to processing to service.“ This was
one reason why customers outside of the typical areas,
such as construction and industry, are also using the
interim solutions from ELA. „Medical practices, pharmacies, banks, stores or hotels are not a rarity in our
rooms,“ Kölblin continues.
The room solution in Rutesheim is further proof of this.
The ELA modules there will be used for just under two
years. After the new building is completed, ELA will
remove the interim rooms again, making the modules
available for new projects once more. Kölblin‘s assessment: „This is what sustainable handling of space looks
like.“

Der Raumspezialist ELA Container ist bekannt für die
schnelle Lieferung mobiler Raumeinheiten. Der Transport erfolgt mit den 60 werkseigenen LKW. Für die
Verladung von Podestteilen und Mobiliar wurde ELA nun
von der DEKRA Automobil GmbH Bielefeld zertifiziert.

delivery of mobile room units. They are transported with
the 60 company‘s own trucks. ELA has now been certified by DEKRA Automobil GmbH Bielefeld for loading of
platform parts and furnishings.
Der Tourismus gehört zu einer Branche, die mehr als andere von der Saison lebt. Hier ergibt sich ein optimales
Einsatzfeld für die flexiblen Interimsräume von ELA Container. Das zeigen auch zwei aktuelle Projektbeispiele.
Tourism is among the most seasonal industries. This
means that it is a perfect area of use for the flexible
interim rooms by ELA Container, as two current project
examples show.
„Transportsicherheit hat bei uns höchste Priorität“, sagt
ELA Fuhrparkleiter Holger Schwenen. „Unsere Verladungslösungen lassen wir daher durch einen unabhängigen Gutachter prüfen.“
„Transport safety has the highest priority for us,“ says
ELA fleet manager Holger Schwenen. „Therefore, we
have our loading solutions inspected by an independent expert.“
DEKRA untersuchte zum einen die Sicherung von
Mobiliar und Kleinteilen in einem offenen Raummodul
mittels Netzen und Spanngurten. Zum anderen wurde
der von ELA Mitarbeitern entwickelte „Metall-Schuh“
einem Härtetest unterzogen. Dieser ersetzt Kanthölzer,
die bisher bei der Verladung von Podesten zum Einsatz
kamen.

secured in an open room module by nets and straps.
The „metal shoe“ developed by ELA employees has
also been subjected to an endurance test. It is used
to replace square timbers that were formerly used for
loading platforms.
Auf dem Campingplatz Schillig war eine Erneuerung
des alten Sanitärgebäudes nötig. Statt für einen Festbau entschied sich der Campingplatz für zwei mobile
und gleichsam hygienisch einwandfreie Sanitärmodule
von ELA Container. Die Module sind je neun Meter lang
und setzen sich aus einem WC-, Wasch- und Duschteil
zusammen. Duschkabinen, Handwaschbecken, Toiletten und Urinale waren im Lieferumfang genauso enthalten wie Elektroheizungen, Spiegel, Ablagen, Beschilderung und Außenbeleuchtung.
At the Schillig campsite, the old sanitary building
needed to be replaced. Instead of a solid building, the
campsite decided to install two mobile but hygienically
impeccable sanitary modules by ELA Container. Each of
the modules is nine metres long and made up of toilet,
washing and shower parts. Shower cubicles, sinks,
toilets and urinals were included in the delivery as well
as electrical heating, mirrors, deposits, signage and
outdoor lighting.
Dipl.-Ing. Uwe Semsch von der DEKRA Niederlassung
Bielefeld zeigte sich mit beiden Transportlösungen zufrieden: „Bei Fahrversuchen mit Vollbremsung, Kreisfahrt
und S-Kurve blieb das Material an seinem vorgesehenen
Platz. Prüfung bestanden!“
ELA erhielt nun ein Zertifikat über die Konformität der
Ladungssicherung mit geltenden Richtlinien und Normen.

material remained where it was supposed to be in the
driving tests with full stops, circles and S-curves. The
test was passed!“
Auch „Nordsee Academy“-Geschäftsführer Niko Goretzki
lobt die ELA Module: „Die Anlage bietet alles, was wir
zum saisonalen Betrieb unserer Surfschule in Hooksiel
brauchen.“ Ein 18 Quadratmeter großer ELA Premiumcontainer dient während der Surfsaison als Anmeldung, Shop
und Schulungsraum, während das Equipment nachts
sicher in einem ELA Lagercontainer untergebracht ist.
„Nordsee Academy“ managing director Niko Goretzki
praises the ELA modules as well: „The facility offers
everything we need for seasonal operation of our
surfing school in Hooksiel.“ An 18 square metres ELA
premiumcontainer is used as registration office, shop
and training room during the surfing season, while the
equipment can be safely stored in an ELA storage container at night.
ELA has received a certificate that confirms the conformity of the load securing with applicable directives and
standards.

Der Gelsenkirchener Fußballclub Schalke 04 hat seine
soziale Initiative „Kumpelkiste“ gestartet. Damit möchte
der Verein notleidenden Menschen im Ruhrgebiet und
ganz Deutschland mit Sach-, Dienstleistungs- und
Geldspenden schnell und unkompliziert helfen. ELA
Container unterstützt die Idee mit einer Kiste aus Containern – das zentrale Symbol der Aktion und gleichzeitig Annahmestelle für Spenden.
The Gelsenkirchen football club Schalke 04 just started
its social initiative „Buddy Box“. The association would
like to use this quick and uncomplicated method to
help persons in need in the Ruhr area and anywhere
in Germany by donations in kind, services and money.
ELA Container supports the idea with a box of containers - the central symbol of the campaign and at the
same time the acceptance point for donations.
Ihren Platz hat die „Kumpelkiste“ aus Containern nun
zunächst für ein Jahr vor der Geschäftsstelle des FC
Schalke 04 – mehr als 2.000 Spendenboxen wurden
bereits abgegeben. Erste Übergaben von Sachspenden
erfolgten etwa in einer Flüchtlingsunterkunft in Emscher-Lippe-Halle und auf Zypern.

front of the FC Schalke 04 office for one year initially
– more than 2,000 donation boxes have already been
handed in. The first handovers of donations in kind
have taken place, e.g. in the refugee accommodation in
Emscher-Lippe-Halle and on Cyprus.
„Nicht nur Vereine, insbesondere auch Unternehmen,
haben eine soziale Verantwortung“, so Albers. „Daher
packt ELA gerne mit ein.“
„Not only associations, but specifically companies have
social responsibility,“ says Albers. „Therefore, ELA will
gladly help with the packing.“

viele Jahre mit dem FC Schalke 04 im Kontakt“, erklärt
ELA Geschäftsführer Günter Albers. „Als die Anfrage
kam, Partner dieser außergewöhnlichen Aktion zu werden, waren wir daher sofort dabei.“

they asked us to become their partner in this unusual
campaign, we were ready at once.“
Die Kumpelkiste besteht aus vier kombinierten Seecontainern. Sie ist rund sechs Meter lang und fünf Meter
hoch. Die Container wurden königsblau verkleidet und
mit einer Deckelkonstruktion versehen.

Pizza macht glücklich – davon ist Vincenzo Morrone,
leidenschaftlicher Pizzabäcker und Inhaber der Pizzeria
Expresso in Delmenhorst, überzeugt. Dass seine Kunden während der Renovierung seines Restaurants auf
Pizzen verzichten müssen, kam für ihn nicht in Frage.
„Ich habe nach einer flexiblen Räumlichkeit gesucht –
möglichst am selben Standort und nur für einige Zeit“,
erzählt er. „Bei ELA Container bin ich fündig geworden.“

customers to do without their pizzas while he is renovating his restaurant. „I was looking for flexible rooms - If
possible in the same location and only temporarily,“ he
says. „ELA Container offered what I needed.“

der Arbeitsschutzausschuss (ASA).
Are workplaces set up ergonomically? How can work
accidents be prevented? What health advice should
employees consider? These and other questions about
work safety and health at work are dealt with by the
work protection committee (Arbeitsschutzausschuss;
ASA) at ELA Container.
Das ASA-Team unter der Leitung von Thomas Wienzek,
Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit bei ELA, und Betriebsarzt Dr. Ludger Senker, setzt sich aus sechs weiteren
Mitgliedern aus unterschiedlichen Abteilungen zusammen. Sie wollen gemeinsam Arbeitsplätze bei ELA so
sicher und gesundheitsfreundlich wie möglich gestalten. Gleichzeitig möchten sie aber auch Mitarbeiter für
das Thema Gesundheit sensibilisieren – etwa mit dem
Gesundheitstag mit dem diesjährigen Thema Ernährung
im November.
The ASA-team under the management of Thomas
Wienzek, specialist for work safety at ELA, and works
physician Dr. Ludger Senker, is made up of six further
employees from different departments. Together, they
want to make the workplaces at ELA as safe and
health-compatible as possible. At the same time, they
want to raise awareness for health-related subjects
among the employees - e.g. by the health day, this year
taking place in November on the subject of nutrition.
So kam es in Delmenhorst zu der ersten Pizzeria in
mobilen ELA Raummodulen. Sie besteht aus zwei
längsseitig kombinierten ELA Premiumcontainer und ist
aufgeteilt in Küche und Empfang. Morrone ist zufrieden:
„Eine adäquate Lösung!“
Der Inhaber hat die funktionalen Räume in ein gemütliches Mini-Restaurant verwandelt. Rote Barhocker empfangen die Gäste, an der Rückwand reihen sich Regale
mit allerlei Flaschen und Bilder schmücken die Wände.
Die Polyurethan-Hartschaumdämmung in den Modulwänden und eine Belüftung sorgen für ein angenehmes
Raumklima.
„Oft werden Modulräume mit Baustellen in Verbindung gebracht“, sagt ELA Area Sales Manager Karsten
Klatte. „Tatsächlich kann ELA auch auf eine Vielzahl an
Projekten im Gastronomiebereich zurückblicken.“

Thus, Delmenhorst now has the first pizzeria in mobile
ELA room modules. It is made up of two ELA premiumcontainers combined along the long side and is structured into kitchen and reception areas. Morrone is happy:
„An adequate solution!“
The owner turned the functional rooms into a cosy
miniature restaurant. Red bar stools receive the guests,
while shelves with many bottles line the rear and pictures decorate the walls. The polyurethane hard-foam
insulation in the module walls and a ventilation system
ensure a pleasant room climate.
„Modular rooms are often equated to construction
sites,“ says ELA Area Sales Manager Karsten Klatte. „In
fact, ELA can look back at many projects in the gastronomy area as well.“

werden Grundsatzfragen, Maßnahmen, Regelungen und
Schulungsprogramme besprochen. An den Sitzungen
nehmen auch die Behindertenbeauftragte, Ersthelfer
sowie Mitglieder der Geschäftsführung teil.

discusses questions of principle, measures, rules and
training programmes. The officer for persons with disabilities, first-aiders and members of the management
also participate in the meetings.

Derzeit sind ELA Container auch in den Niederlanden
sehr gefragt, hier heißen sie Units. Seit dem 1. Januar
2004 führt ELA Container in Groningen eine Niederlassung, die ELA Container Nederland BV. Das Gelände
des Standorts erstreckt sich über 8.500 Quadratmeter.
Darauf befinden sich eine 800 Quadratmeter große
Werkstatt mit eigener Lackierhalle und ein zweigeschossiges Verwaltungsgebäude.
At the moment, ELA containers are also in high demand
in the Netherlands, where they are called Units. Since
1 January 2004, ELA Container has been running a
branch in Groningen: ELA Container Nederland BV. The
premises of the site cover 8,500 square metres, holding
an 800 square metres workshop with a dedicated paint
shop and a two-storey administrative building.
Am Standort Groningen arbeiten 21 Mitarbeiter, vier
davon sind als Area Sales Manager unterwegs. Der
Containerpark umfasst die sechs Meter langen und drei
Meter breiten ELA Premiumcontainer als Büro-, Wohn-,
Aufenthalts- und Sanitärcontainer sowie Lager- und
Werkstattcontainer in drei und sechs Metern Länge.
„Das Geschäft in den Niederlanden hat sich extrem positiv entwickelt“, erklärt Standort-Geschäftsführer Fridor
Boerma. „Kunden in den ganzen Niederlanden konnten
wir von unseren Produkten nachhaltig überzeugen.“
Oft kommt es in Groningen zu Aufträgen mit größeren
Stückzahlen. In den letzten Jahren konnte etwa das
Projekthotel Wagenborgen mit 1.360 Einheiten oder
eine temporäre Schule in Groningen mit 287 Einheiten
realisiert werden. Momentan läuft ein Projekt für ein
Datenzentrum in Eemshaven. Mehr als 365 Units lieferte
der niederländische Standort bereits dorthin aus.

comprises the six metres long and three metres wide
ELA premiumcontainers as office, residential, general
use and sanitary containers, as well as storage and
workshop containers three and six metres in length.
„The business in the Netherlands has developed
extremely positively,“ says site manager Fridor Boerma. „Customers throughout the Netherlands could be
sustainably convinced of our products.“
Groningen often receives orders with higher piece
numbers. In the last few years, for example, the project
hotel Wagenborgen was implemented with 1,360 units,
and a temporary school in Groningen with 287 units. At
the moment, a project for a data centre in Eemshaven
is underway. More than 365 Units have already been
delivered there by the Dutch site.

Wer kocht schon ohne sie? Die Zwiebel ist würziger Bestandteil vieler deftiger Rezepte. Ihre Verarbeitung sorgt
nicht selten für tränende Augen. Gleiches mit Gleichem
heilen, war der Grundsatz Hahnemanns, dem Urvater
der klassischen Homöopathie. So ist Allium, z.B. in
Form von Globulis, ein Grund, warum die Zwiebel in der
Homöopathie bei tränenden Augen und Fließnase erfolgreich eingesetzt wird. Die Menschen lieben sie trotz
Tränen bei der Zubereitung und verzehren circa sieben
Kilogramm pro Kopf und Jahr.
Who would want to cook without it? The onion is a
spicy ingredient in many hearty recipes. Processing it
often causes eyes to water. Healing same with same
was the principle of Hahnemann, the founder of classic

Im Saft der Zwiebel sind große Mengen entzündungshemmender Stoffe, z.B. sogenannte Sulfide, enthalten,
die entzündlichen Prozessen entgegenwirken. Zwiebelsaft ist auch ein wahres Wundermittel bei Halsschmerzen und Husten. Pressen Sie dazu eine Zwiebel in ein
kleines Glas warmes Wasser aus, mischen Sie den Saft
mit gutem Honig und trinken ihn in kleinen Schlucken.
The onion is very popular for prevention and as a tried
and tested household remedy particularly in winter, the
typical season of colds. It has been named healing herb
of the year of 2015 for good reason. The antibacterial
and anti-inflammatory properties of the onion can be
used to cure various complaints: among them cough,
cold, ear ache, gastrointestinal diseases or insect
stings.
Onion juice contains large amounts of anti-inflammatory
substances, e.g. sulphides, which counter inflammatory processes. Onion juice is a veritable miracle cure
against sore throats and coughs. Press an onion into
a small glass of warm water, mix the juice with good
honey and drink it in small sips.
