The Mustek Be@rPaw is the next generation in scanning. It was
designed with decor in mind. It also includes a front panel with
five easy-to-use buttons which are attached to unique functions
such as scanning, faxing, copying and e-mailing.
This innovative scanner features Plug and Play scanning through
a direct USB connection. Installation of the Be@rPaw couldn’t be
easier. Thanks to the power of the Universal Serial Bus connection, you simply plug the Be@rPaw scanner into the USB port on
your Windows 98 computer. The USB interface permits faster
image transfer rates than standard parallel port scanners (up to
12 MBPS) and enables “hot-swapping” so users can connect the
scanner only when needed.

The Be@rPaw features some of the highest software enhanced
resolution ever seen. It has an optical resolution of 600 x 1200
dpi with a maximum software enhanced resolution of 19,200 dpi!
The Be@rPaw’s patented BDIT (Bit Depth Increased Technology)
enhancement captures a 36-bit color image and enhances it to a
brilliant 48-bit.

SCANNER
The included image editing software allows the Be@rPaw to save
in JPEG and GIF file formats commonly used for Internet
graphics. The GIF file format allows transparent areas and
interlaced downloading.
Reliability
In addition to the quality scanning and the on-line help-system,
this scanning package also includes an interactive Tutorial/
Scanning Tips application, detailed on-line manual and its global
access to Mustek’s technical support department. It features a
standard warranty, outstanding technical support and is
manufactured under strict ISO-9001 guidelines.
Optional Accessories
The Be@rPaw 1200 has an optional Transparency Adapter. The
Transparency Adapter allows scanning, of materials such as
slides, negatives and transparencies up to 17.8 x 15.2 cm.

The software interface is as intuitive as the five-button panel,

based upon their preferences. With the easy-to-use interface
of Ulead’s Photo Express SE, you can quickly turn your scanned
images into greeting cards, announcements and invitations.
You can incorporate your favorite images into calendars and
brochures or you can just stick to the basics and use Photo
Express SE’s retouching tools to make all of your pictures look
their best.
With its “Instant Access OCR” feature, Xerox’s TextBridge Classic
software allows documents to be scanned for editing directly with
your word processing software. TextBridge is powerful and easy
to use, capable of recognizing many different fonts at various
sizes, quickly and accurately converting scanned documents into
editable formats.

Über die USB-Schnittstelle kann der Be@rPaw blitzschnell mit jedem aktuellen PC mit Windows 98 verbunden werden und ist nach der Software-Installation sofort betriebsbereit.
Der Be@rPaw ist TWAIN-kompatibel, kann also aus vielen
Applikationen heraus direkt angesteuert werden. Zum Lieferumfang gehört ein leistungsstarkes Softwarepaket: die Bildbearbeitungssoftware PhotoExpress SE und die professionelle
OCR-Software Xerox Textbridge Classic. PhotoExpress macht mit
einer leicht erlernbaren Benutzeroberfläche das Erfassen und
Optimieren gescannter Bilder zum Kinderspiel. Blitzschnell können Scans in individuelle Kalender eingebunden werden, als
Postkarte gestaltet oder für die Verwendung im Internet vorbereitet werden. TextBridge bringt Ihrem PC das Lesen bei: die Software verarbeitet praktisch alle Schriften und Schriftgrößen ohne
Probleme und übergibt die in editierbare Zeichen konvertierten
Texte an die Textverarbeitung zur weiteren Bearbeitung oder Archivierung.
